So tell me, what does the good Lord think of these new dragons??? And how are you btw I hope you're well!

The new dragons, though themselves are welcome, are shadowed by the circumstances of their arrival. The Deities can be unpredictable, and the creation of an entirely new type of dragon is no small feat. Whether it be an omen of things to come, or a message from what once was, the birth of the Obelisks has only strengthened the vigilance of Talos' sorcerers. They remain hard at work deciphering the meaning of such happenings.

(Thanks! Work has been killing me, but on the upside I've been learning how to make animatics. The main issue is getting the audio from movie clips, which I'm still trying to figure out.)

Matthias’ backstory has now been packaged into a neat little WIP animatic! I hope you enjoy!

Time to overexplain the story and maybe cringe a little, but  who cares ^^

OK LET’S GO:

This is actually an unreliable narration from Matthias’ point of view. To him, he was only able to gain the trust and love of his Mother, while his Father and brother shunned him.  Overwhelmingly afraid to welcome another sibling into his home(and therefore another person that would inevitably hate him) Matthias, out of pure fear and impulse, ate his unhatched sibling. Upon doing so, he felt that he was not only undeserving of his Mother’s love, but also haunted by the murderous spirit of his sister.

In reality, Matthias’ family loved him completely. His father found Matthias, among other things, mercilessly pillaging birds’ nests to collect eggshells, and would scold him for such behavior. Matthias’ brother would argue constantly about the horrid things Matthias would say, sometimes to the point of desperation. His mother did love him unconditionally, but was extremely worried for his future. And finally, the ghostly apparition of the sister is entirely imaginary, and only serves to encourage Matthias’ habit of eggeating.

Lorewise, I’m cooking up some stuff regarding the egg eaters, but in the meantime the other councils are getting polished up, especially the Commoners and Artisans. 

There’s been a slight expansion to the guard of the Onyx prison. Three orgami-made dragons were crafted by the joint efforts of the Religious and Scholar councils to beef up security in light of criminal activity. Things haven’t felt right, but due to the mind-melding Veilspun magic, nobody can pin down why they feel that way. As far as they can tell, nothing has changed, even though in reality they’ve suffered a massive security breach regarding the Veilspun imposters in their ranks. Even so, this was their solution to their uneasiness. These three paper and ink-flesh dragons never need food or rest, and are very loyal & goal-oriented.

 They also have an array of ink-based abilities, which could turn out pretty cool in their artwork. Like and ink blast for Aralyn because of the implications of her capsule tertiary, or perhaps paper-cut wings for Quillstroke.

I’ve added two tabs, one for guests(or dragons who don’t quite fit the lore, so they’re just visiting to see the sights) and one containing dragons from Talosian History called The Original Knights. Rails_Reads very graciously did a reading on one of them, which I’m super thankful for. 

I was quite busy with some end of school shenanigans, but with things dying down the artwork will pick right back up soon ^^ I appreciate you checking out my page and lore every now and then! It’s always fantastic to hear from y’all!
