There are those in the jujutsu world that claim that Gojou is a monster that lives in human skin. A monster who hides his unparalleled power under a jovial smile, and charming face. A monster whose mere presence sends shivers down the spines of his enemies.

You wonder if the man who’s sitting in front of you as Shoko bandages your arm is letting his human skin slip. You wonder if the man who crosses the distance between you two within a few strides, and towers over you, his tall and wide-shouldered figure blocking the light of the room, is capable of crushing all of mankind with a flick of his finger.

You wonder if his enemies have been burned by the anger that is simmering behind his jewel blue eyes alone as he cradles your bandaged arm in his large hands and asks you in a voice void of all feeling, “Who did this to you?”

When Gojou pry’s the name of the unfortunate soul who dared to lay their hands on you, you wonder if you’ve sentenced them to eternal doom.

The thoughts refuse to linger in your mind because could a monster ever imitate the gentle way in which Gojou carries and tucks you into bed? Could a monster ever emulate the softness of Gojou’s lips as he kisses your forehead and whispers sweet nothings that make your heart bleed with love? Could a monster ever mimic the way Gojou watches you with soft eyes as you drift off to sleep?

What Gojou doesn’t tell you is that he agrees with the whispers of the shadows because when Gojou comes back later that night and sees you sound asleep in bed. Gojou accepts that he would fight the gods for you, that he would commit every sin known to man for you, that he would stain himself permanently red for you. He wonders if you’ll ever know that you’ve made a monster out of Gojou.
