yay poll time

Fuckin cold. Spice level got set back to zero. ugh. Now I'm nosy.

This is tough because while I USED to think I was allergic to peppers And honestly might have been (certain types of spice foods made me barf within an hour of eating them.) Now that I'm an adult with an understanding of how my body reacts I think it's just Jalapeno specifically. They still hurt my stomach. Once I got reintroduced to peppers (lived in a household where BLACK PEPPER was 'too spicy' to cook with. -_-) I really genuinely enjoy them. But I'm having to learn where my tolerance is and what I actually like. I adore adding serano to things. Made a poblano mac and cheese that I really liked too. I like a couple types of good hot sauce too. But my I'm still acquiring a tolerance. My sibling and I added a can of chipotle in adobo sauce to a large batch of chili It was JUST beyond what we could handle. But I'm putting myself at the “medium salsa” range. I still have very white taste buds But I'm not at what my friend has which she refers to “the tolerance of an Irishman” in her case spice of 0. (Okay not really on the tomatoes or green peppers. But yeah not even mild salsa)

honestly...... yeah..... no recipe for a lot. This is a fun mental exercise because it turns out it's more than I though. I have a good meatloaf recipe I don't bother looking at instructions for anymore I can throw that together and have it done in an hour two dairy based soups and two variations of a beef stew from memory. Those are easy to adjust up. Starchy sides are EASY I could literally do anything from potatoes to a noodle with cheese sauce. I could pull a basic bechamel from memory Spaghetti is super easy to throw together without instructions. Same with a stir fry. A bs stroganoff as well. I make a gravy so good that my stepdad's boss at a potluck said he wanted to lick his plate after having it. And I can throw together a couple veggie options that would taste good with just about any of these. Hazard of the fact that I ended up the designated household cook at 15 for a group of 4 (5th was a baby and doesn't count). It's to the point where I could throw a LOT of food together quickly if I had to for a large crowd. I've literally been the Thanksgiving and Christmas cook since I was like 17 and have a lot of that memorized. Frankly if you're taking “Food in roughly an hour to an hour and half” I can pull a LOT out on the fly. Give me a full day and I can pull out Thanksgiving from memory. So how short is your window? xD

inspired by the quiz i saw for the countries!

take this quiz to see how many USA states you can name in 10 minutes, because i was curious to see if i still remembered. i got all but blanked on wyoming, maryland, and oklahoma. (and i only got nebraska, missouri, and mississippi in the last 10 seconds. when i blank out i BLANK out.)

Woof I got them but man I had a harder time SPELLING them than I did remembering them. Also I learned it in rhyme and struggled once I got to M section Mississippi was fine but Missouri made me struggle. Rhode Island too. The last struggle was Wyoming I literally got it with 2 seconds to spare.

I have not had my wisdom teeth removed

I had only a local anesthetic so I would not feel pain

I had a local anesthetic and minimal sedation (such as laughing gas)

I had a local anesthetic and moderate sedation (such as valium)

They WANTED to sedate me. They really did try. I had all of mine impacted and one that was trouble to get out as it was But I have a VERY difficult time with needles So they tried NINE TIMES to put the needle in everywhere from my arms to the backs of my hands to even my foot. And even though the hospital was right there So they gave up after nine threw vallium at me and waited 20 minutes for it to kick in and then started working on me. I was probably less sedated than I should have been for getting all four out at once. but I have a high pain tolerance. Other family members were just straight up missing teeth so I was actually double unlucky there. teeth tw
