Tup With That Cloak Reminds Me A Lot Of Jon Snow... So I'm Now Imagining An AU Where Somewhere In Westeros,
Tup with that cloak reminds me a lot of Jon Snow... so I'm now imagining an AU where somewhere in Westeros, Sam finds a book with a spell that saves them from terrible writing by transporting them to a galaxy far far away...
Echo base, Hoth
Jon: and she had dragons...
Fives: so?
Jon: so she was going to become a tyrant queen
Fives: why?
Jon: I... because
Fives: sure ok
Jon: ...
Fives: so you didn't kiss her then
Sam: she's his aunt!
Fives: ok ok
Jon: so you guys are fighting a tyrant king too?
Fives: Emperor
Jon: does he have dragons?
Fives: no
Jon: then what's the big deal
Echo: he's like a very powerful manipulative wizard... with a lot of money
Jon: oh shit... like Littlefinger with magic
Fives: there's a dude called Littlefinger?
Jon: what are your names again?
Fives: point taken
Echo: so how did you guys defeat your other tyrant queen
Jon: we didn't. We banded together against the bigger threat of the white walkers
Fives: *shows him a holo of a stormtrooper* these guys?
Jon: nah ours are made of ice
Echo: ice?
Sam: magic ice
Fives: so... can you melt them?
Jon: that's why we needed the dragons
Echo: you guys don't have plasma? Bombs? Liquid tibanna?
Jon: we have dragon glass
*Sam shows them an obsidian dagger*
Fives (laughing) : I can see why the dragons are so important now
Echo: do you guys want to take some bombs? Thermal detonators? We can spare a few.
Fives (has a brainwave): Tell you what, we'll trade you a gunship for that spellbook
Sam: will the bombs work against dragons?
Echo: do your dragons have impenetrable armor and get exponentially bigger when they feed on raw energy?
Jon (horrified): no.. they're just normal dragons
Echo: then yea, you're good.
Sam lets them scan the spellbook. They open a portal & fly back to Westeros in an LAAT/i armed w heavy ordonnance.
Echo & Fives study the magic files
*a few days later*
Former Jedi Temple, Coruscant
Fives, Echo & Rex burst into the Emperor's palace welding magic flaming swords and making shit float around them
Sidious: WTF
Fives: guess what you fucker? Clones weild magic now
*Echo binds him in a freezing spell while Rex chucks his magic flaming sword & impales him*
Rex: and I'm still no Jedi
THE END

Big fan of DBB’s hc of Fives where he survives and retires to start a tauntaun farm on Hoth 🥲 also, Tup’s there too because both of them deserve to live a peaceful life 🥲🥲
Redraw of them in fluffy cloaks because that’s always fun!

Undercover Cody & Obi-Wan

I know they're near unrecognizable, that's the point of being undercover ;D

I love this backstory! So he's like Marvel's Domino if he used the bad luck the force brings him to turn events to his favor? Also, he was able to weild the gauntlet right?
Glitch IS meant to be Force sensitive, here's why
Clone Trooper Glitch Who Is Definitely Force Sensitive.
As far as I can tell, everyone has fallen in love with that idea and everyone is now saying "Glitch is Force sensitive and you can't convince me otherwise."
Listen, what if I can actually convince you he is, with literary analysis?
I don't think I've ever seen this particular angle discussed (not that I have looked too hard, but no one ever brings it up when talking about Glitch). Everyone just loves the idea that he's Force sensitive because it's a lovely / exciting idea. And, okay, it's never stated outright in the source material, so there's some room for doubt. (And it was obviously intentionally left open-ended.)
BUT
I think the subtext, for those who know what it is, is so thick it might as well be an open admission of authorial intent. You see, Glitch's comic, Defenders of the Lost Temple, is drawing heavily on the Knights of the Old Republic comics in its lore. The Gauntlet they're sent to recover comes from that series. The moon where it resides is named after one of the characters from the series and likely is the moon he moved to at the end of his arc, and there's a statue of him there. There are all these deliberate, easily proven links to the series.
And there's also the less direct but still present parallel of questioning whether Jedi should be fighting in a war at all - Knights of the Old Republic (comics) takes place at the beginning of the Mandalorian Wars when some Jedi went to fight and others argued that wasn't their place, and some people get caught in the conflict without ever wanting to. That's a more dubious connection, and may not have been deliberate, but...
That is - the writer knew what he was doing here, in relation to previously published material.
The main protagonist of that series is Zayne Carrick.
Zayne is a sort of off-beat Jedi (well, almost-Jedi). He is just about Force sensitive enough to be admitted to the Jedi Order. He has "a special relationship with the Force." His special relationship with the Force mainly manifests in him being very clumsy and having the worst sort of luck. No one really thinks he'll make it as a Jedi. His own fellow padawan friends don't think he'll make it as a Jedi. But he's so good and caring and trying. And in the long run, he learns to work with his bad luck, and it turns out it's not so much a bad luck as the Force working... as a sort of swing, around him, with a balance of good and bad events. Things rarely work out as expected, but he learns to expect the unexpected. And once he does, and learns to ride the waves instead of trying to swim against the current, it actually works mainly in the heroes' favour.
Does that remind you of anyone?
Yep.
I'm pretty sure Glitch is a deliberate callback to Zayne Carrick and his special relationship with the Force.
I don't know if he started out that way from the start, or if the idea of "what if a clone was Force sensitive" came first and this theme just slotted into place later (honestly, the latter is probably likelier). But it's undeniably there; with all the other references to KOTOR, it's unlikely the author would have missed the main protagonist's character arc re: Force sensitivity.
Glitch has a special relationship with the Force exactly like Zayne's. He just has, unlike Zayne, also the bad luck of never having been tested for Force sensitivity. (This is all EU/Legends. Don't expect New Canon to stick to any of the above.)
Amazing!!! 😍 We need more Echo in casual wear. Love the 5s tattoo 💙 I might be wrong about this, but his prosthetic legs start at the knee, right? I always thought of him w fleshy thighs. Hard to tell from the CW reference page tho.

Another WIP by me. I just think we deserve more crop top Echo. I'm proud of the cyborg legs.
I know he didn't come back, but I stand by what I said all throughout S3.
1) If Hunter survived that fall on Daro, Tech could've survived the fall on Eriadu. Gregor literally says "no one can survive that jump" before Hunter falls & then he does & guess what? Not only is Hunter fine, he doesn't even break anything! Not a single broken bone & the man fell halfway down a mountain. "Yeah but he had his knife to slow down his fall" You don't think Tech has tools?? Tech. We're talking about records everything, plans for all eventualities, Tech. Ofc he had something useful on that belt.
2) If you watch carefully, you can see there are clouds below them when they jump onto the car off the side of the mountain. Meaning, that's fucking fog covering the ground, they're not that high up.
3) "oh but the cable car crushed him" We didn’t see that. Cable car could've hit & got stuck/diverted from falling on him by any number of things: outcroppings, trees, power lines...
4) They've "killed" characters for sure for sure, they're so absolutely dead & not coming back before... and yet writers can always find a way if they want to.
"Don't worry about me, I blew myself up once & survived...I can survive this"
- Captain Gregor
5) "but it cheapens his sacrifice" did it cheapen Gregor's? Echo's? I didn't think so, but this one's a very personal/subjective point. It's more of a why ppl don't want him written back, rather than why it wouldn't make sense in-universe. So yeah, depends on how the creators think about what 'sacrifice' means & how tragic they want a character's arc to be because...
6) sudden deaths where the character dies while having unfinished business/completing their arc can be too tragic for audiences to stomach. (I still have Sirius Black trauma bc wtf do you mean he fell through veil & that's it) Tech was the one that pushed Hunter to go to Eriadu to see if they could rescue Crosshair and he doesn't get to see Crosshair redeem himself . Also, Tech's arc in S2 dealt with learning how to better relate to others' feelings, you see that both in his relationship with Omega & how he responds to Phee's flirting...and no we didn’t imagine that, he literally smiles more times in the Pabu episode (at her) than in all of S1 & 2 put together. He says he was going to suggest to Hunter they stay to rebuild, Phee goes "were you now?" And he turns and smiles at her...that was going somewhere. Like Hunter, Tech was starting to think of himself differently & was starting to accept a different path. Just like he told Omega "we adapt & move on" except he didn't get to...
7) "he needed to die to raise the stakes" depends. Is that the tone of the show? Is the Bad Batch a realistic drama or is it rather an action/adventure show that delves into some darker themes? And are those darker themes better served through a sudden character death or through a loss/change arc? Anakin didn't die when he fell in lava & that made the story way more interesting. Echo didn't die either & his arc has made the general story 1000x more interesting. Killing a lead off can raise the stakes, but does it also make the story better??
I said it didn't. I say they could totally bring him back in a way that makes sense in-universe & continue to write a compelling story.
Rant over.

Just thought you all should know, I call the checkmark step the
"Tech of Success"
Echo my love 😍😍😍😍 what I would give to see him w long scruffy hair... I volunteer to clean & shower him & make him happy

because Echo deserves to feel pretty too
(it’s him like 10 years down the road when his hair grows out and he gets a better prosthetic that isn’t just a screwdriver on a stick and he’s clean and showered and happy ok 😭)
