a Marine writing his report like “unbeknownst to the world government Hawkeyes has apparently been secretly training an army of monkeys to sword fight in his spare time and has proven to be very successful as we lost half our men to them.”

And so now their little Mihawk files, that requires its own filing cabinet, contains the the questions;

Did he teach the monkeys to sword fight or does he control the monkeys like puppets?

How did he teach the monkeys to sword fight?

Some kind of animal control devil fruit?

Hawkeyes can communicate with animals?

Is he actually part hawk? Part monkey???

Marines animal fighting division, when?

Could Garp train dogs to brawl?

Can Garp get his own army of monkeys or steal Mihawk’s? 🥺

I like to think that when they were young, when the marines would interrupt their duels and they’d have to fight back to back. Mihawk would make it a point to go out of his way to not kill the fodder marines. Out of respect to Shanks’ “delicate” sensibilities (re: basic morals and decency) as they, as he puts it, “are just doing their jobs” 🙄

My own personal favorite headcannon is that Mihawk was just completely rabid in his youth. Like I’m talking when he was still young enough to have something to prove.

I know the seas were a MESS when Mihawk was still hunting down challengers to prove he was the best.

Because I also head canon that a title like World’s strongest swordsman didn’t exist till Mihawk through sheer force of Will and a truly horrifying amount of singular dogmatic pursuit clawed it together by simply proving to the world, one challenger at a time, that no one could beat him.

The mess he must have made, the carnage he must have left in his wake. Right at the beginning of the golden age of piracy too. I know the marines were STRESSED.

I wonder at what point Mihawk decided that the jacket just wasn’t cutting it.

He needed a full long coat. He needed the wide brim hat with the big ass plume. He needed to have all the bitches gagged when he pulled up on the scene.

Thoughts: this is genuinely one of my Al time favorite AMVs and so it was an obvious choice for the first pick. This is genuinely one of the best AMV creators I’ve ever seen so yeah.

It’s a great AMV the song fits the characters so well and from a purely technical standpoint this is masterfully edited. The rising emotion is conveyed so oooo well and the editing and storytelling, especially at the last bit. Is geniunly so amazing. I’m trying not to be very specific because I do think it’s something you need to experience to really get. But yeah this AMV does MP100 and its characters justice and I swear even if you’ve never watched a single frame of MP100 you will enjoy this. This is so much funnier now that the clown that was literally supposed to just be a figurehead has dragged them into the a race to beat the red hair pirates and the Straw hats to the One Piece.

He has been outmaneuvered by a fucking clown in his own guild, and now he’s going to lose another painstakingly built billion berry criminal empire to the fucking straw hats and a red head on the whims of a clown.

His only consolation is that Mihawk is just as put out about this as he is. But Mihawk’s main beef is probably that he’s going to have to live on that utterly ridiculous circus tent ass ship for a considerable amount of weeks and it will do immeasurable damage to his aesthetic.

Crocodile has never regretted being a loan shark so much in his life, cause look what he has to deal with because a clown owed him money.

I just know Crocodile brought on Mihawk because he thought he would be sensible, calm and collected, low maintenance. He thought it was going to be them against the idiocy that is buggy. And it is to a degree.

What he failed to calculate is that Mihawk is just as bad as buggy.

Worse even because at least Buggy can be bullied into doing paperwork. I just know everyday Crocodile is astonished by the absolute commitment Mihawk has to his aesthetic. Walks into his tent just to find that he has somehow converted this circus ass tent into a mid century gothic castle. Somehow carpeted the whole thing end to end is burning more that a 100 candles for “mood lighting”, has a fully open fire pit and a sewing machine in the corner.

Like Crocodiles essentially a mafioso he can appreciate the wanting nice things. Still won’t prepare him for the day Mihawk’s brings him a wine budget, a tailoring budget and an embroidery budget all painstakingly itemized.

Won’t prepare him for having to replace every single wine glass because buggy drank out of one and he can’t break up a set but refuses to use a cup that buggy’s put his mouth on.

He’s starting to think that the real reason the Warlords were disbanded was because they simply could not afford to pay for Mihawk’s upkeep anymore and decided they’d rather pay in cadet lives than see one more wine budget.

He is essentially being held hostage, in his own guild, by the whims of a bored middle aged vampire, and a fucking clown.
