I Can No Longer Read Batfamily Fanfiction Because I Am A Jason Stan And Cannot Balance My Need For All
I can no longer read Batfamily fanfiction because I am a Jason stan and cannot balance my need for all the hurt between them to be acknowledged and tense and my need for zanny fun loving Wayne family content where they are all a big family and live in the same house.
But Iâm glad it exists, that family deserves to be happy in some version of reality.

Honestly despite my feelings about how the last arc of MHA went down I really love Deku and his story.
I just feel like a lot of the time we get these protagonists whose whole philosophy is it doesnât matter what you were born as everyone can achieve greatness. But then the series goes on and it turns out that actually it DOES matter because the protagonist has this really great lineage and these really great powers you can only have through birth they were actually born born, predestined if you will, to do this.
But MHA actually sticks to its guns. Midoriya wasnât revealed to have some great connection to all might that the universe had put in place. He wasnât defended from some great lineage that makes him uniquely suited to this. Hell All for one didnât even turn out to be his father, there was no hidden powerful quirk he was always meant to have. He was just Midoriya Izuku a boy who was in the right place at the right time and simply decided to act while the world did nothing. And thatâs what really made him a hero.
I donât know, maybe itâs just me, but I believe him a bit more when he goes anybody can be a hero if you just decide to act

The gag is Zoro and Shanks arenât that different. Zoro is also completely reckless with his body less so now but I have no doubt that even now if he needed to cut off any part of his body to win, to save his crew he would do it without hesitation just like shanks.
And the thing is Mihawk would still fight him as long as Zoro can pick up a sword Mihawk would still fight him and relish in it.
Zoro loses an eye, Mihawk still trains him.
And ShanksâŚ..Shanks loses his mind a little bit
I need someone that believes in magic to get ahold of Batman again. He is an overly serious man that runs around in an admitted bat suit fighting a gimmick rouge gallery. And he is doing it because he sincerely believes in a better tomorrow and somewhere along the way we have lost the plot. Batman wasnât created to punish the guilty that is actually completely antithetical to his beliefs he is not the fucking punisher.
Batman just like wonder woman and Superman primarily wants to save people! sure he doesnât do it in a sunny way but that is still what drives him. Hell he even goes a step further and actually builds a case heâs not just waiting for criminals to commit the crime he is shutting down smuggling and trafficking rings foiling plots he is a detective! For Christs sake itâs what made him so unique and fun as a superhero.
Also His desire to save people is literally what compels him to adopt Dick, Jason, Stephanie. Cass because he wanted to give these kids a chance, to save them in ways 8year old him wasnât. Someone who just wants to punish the guilty wouldnât do that, And now they have turned him into a borderline physically and emotionally abusive absentee parent all in the name of making him an edge lord. Where is the heart! Where is the fucking heart in it all! Where are the kids and the bright colors and the zaniness. Let Batman and Gotham be FANTASTICAL! Iâm tired of the greys and the browns.
Iâm tired of âgrounding a storyâ meaning sucking all the joy and color out if it. Also superhero stories donât need to be grounded in your fucking abysmal reality they are literally superheroes they exist outside of reality, let them!
A story does not have to be joyless to have depth and it does not have to be nihilist to be compelling.
I am sick and I am tired of it. đ
