Ive Been Having Fun Using Up The Almost-dry Felts In My Sons Art Supplies And Practicing My (very) Limited

I’ve been having fun using up the almost-dry felts in my son’s art supplies and practicing my (very) limited artistic skills in some super quick drawings. I tell my son he has to give every drawing/painting a title so he gets a bit of extra writing practice at art time, and now I’ve gotten into the habit too and find it fun to come up with silly names for the pictures. This one is called - ‘As Things Used To Be’

Been reading a lot of chapter books with my son, often during meal times now since the chai tea incident after which my laptop no longer turns on. That was a blessing in disguise!
The is a recent favorite - “The Wild Robot” by Peter Brown. The story is about a cute robot named Roz who gets stuck on an island and makes friend with animals by being kind and helpful. It’s sooo cute, and there are lots of opportunities to do funny voices which I love.
Also, the book deals with a lot of great themes like parenting and diversity, and there is a darker dystopian setting in the background to give it some adult appeal without ruining the lighthearted and upbeat nature of the story.
Overall, a super fun read and both my son and I enjoyed it immensely! I’m excited to have found out there’s a sequel, so that’s something to look forward to, and a great idea for a Christmas present to us both in a few months :)

I don’t usually take pictures of meals I make, because usually they aren’t exactly what most would call “photogenic” lol. This one though, inspired by the single lonely corn tortilla in my fridge, seemed worth remembering.
I fried the tortilla in grated cheese, then layered on some frozen corn, chopped up black beans, tomatoes, cilantro, and more cheese. Then served it with a wedge of lime and some hot salsa and plain yogurt for topping, and chips for dipping. Washed it down with some mango kombucha mixed with mango juice.
Some of my cooking experiments don’t really pan out, but this one was delicious yum!Definitely would make this again.
The little green side dish is lunch for my pet rat, Wagner :) He’s getting pretty old now, but he’s still always eager to eat so I like to feed him yummy healthy treats when I can!

It wasn't too long, after Anachron landed that it wanted to chat, it was in fact, demanded.
Anachron introduced itself quickly, to all the world leaders looking rather sickly.
Then it hustled away back up into its spaceship. Was that it? The world wondered… It had been a long trip!
Then the world watched as Anachron and crew blasted back into the sky and beyond the blue.
To a planet more yellow, a world more like their own. To Venus just one orbit over they've flown.
Now they live over there and what do they do? They complain! And not just about Venus, Earth too!
They complain that our oceans are really too clean, our beaches too sparkling, our forests too serene.
But they can't breathe our air - not enough argon you see. So they just sit there on Venus, cranky as can be.

Covid sucks, but one silver lining (for me at least) has been seeing all the little crafts people in my community starting putting outside during the period of forced homeschooling last year when schools shut down. Waste/pollution issues aside, I absolutely love walking around and seeing little painted rocks and other cute things tucked away in unexpected places. I saw this knitted heart today on my lunch walk, and thought it was adorable! Although I didn’t make it, it felt like something worthy of a quick pic and I wanted to share it in the hopes it makes you smile too :)

Lots more crude art nobody asked for! Lol that’s most of the loose felt drawings I did with my son this year during home-schooling because of the covid shutdown. That was challenging but definitely a rewarding time :)
