Mermay #24 - McCosker’s Wrasse Mer So this time I didn’t feel like doing the twiggy lady mers I usually draw and designed to make this one a little more beefier, if only in the arms. XD; ...and outfit came out kinda punk-rockish so that too. Although... upon further research into wrasses I found out the design I chose was for a male one... I should have figured with the colors, since in nature usually the males are a lot more colorful XD; But alas. I dunno it’s just patterning though and she’s a mer so maybe it’s different for mermaids? I dunno. Anyways, that embarrassment aside, here’s a mer. XD

Mermay #20 - Hakee Second in the series of old characters from a mer RP, there’s this thing. From the same tribe as Tirak, a small girl about the age of six who is an albino shark mer and wanders about like a ghost. They say she’s an outcast, but she gets along fairly well for her status.

A noodle I made two days ago. Was gonna submit it, but I was kinda on a social media fast, so I decided to wait until I’d finished that. I made this out of a color palette (at least originally before I started messing it) that I’d made accidentally when trying to paint bucket over a colourpod.com palette with a palette from one of those dA color scheme meme things (scheme meme... hehe that rhymes) because I thought I’d help me get inspiration better just to be looking at the colors by themselves instead of the whole rest of the meme and other colors around it. So I got halfway through that before I realized ... hey, this is a pretty nice color palette! Of course it’s all changed now since I messed with darkening/lightening it so there’s lighter yellows and more orange involved to give it more contrast, but the palette itself was pretty cool! Definitely wasn’t dark enough though. Left my original noodle looking kinda chalky. But anyways! Here it is. If anyone would like to try out the palette I (partially) used to make this, it’s:

And yeah, it’s kinda repetitive with both ends being close together in color... but if I were to title it, maybe I’d call it... hm... Well, the original title of the palette was Angelic, and it still kinda looks like that to me? I mean, the last three colors are from Angelic, the first two are from the dA color palette. But uh... I dunno. I don’t have a better title XD; And ‘Angelic’ doesn’t exactly fit Nola’s personality, just her blonde hair and how mono-yellow this painting is XD but uh... Yeah I dunno I can’t think of any other better title for it than that. Eh well. Anyways here it is, finally some art after a while right? XD I’m working on something else that was supposed to be a quick color key but it turned into a big thing... I might post it if I ever finish it! It’s currently in stasis on PS XD;

Something else I forgot to upload to tumblr that I made about a week ago. For some reason I thought it’d be really cute to draw Nola wearing a fruit hat on her head and carrying a fruit basket in her arm, so... I drew it. XD She looks kind of confused at me why I wanted to draw her doing this though... XD Well, anyways, here’s Nola from Guardians (also known affectionately as Flower Power), a collabative project with @diamondfusionempress, @swordofpower and CC (offsite). And no, I don’t usually have her running around carrying fruit everywhere, but when I do... XD

Mermay #28 - Owen the River Otter Mer Gee I don’t even know if this is allowed XD since otters aren’t really a cetacean but they’re kinda aquatic?? So?? I dunno. Well anyways. So this is Owen, the... river otter... mer... XD He usually just has an otter pattern but as per Mermay I decided to make him a... what even would you call this. This is more like... a half-otter thing than a mer XD But anyways so he’s another Zenithian that the mer pod meet. He sometimes accompanies them on trips so he’s kinda only half part of the pod but he’s kinda among their ranks I guess as it were sometimes... XD Sooo yeah. Whether this counts as a mer or not here’s Owen. XD

Can I also just say it makes me incredibly happy I’m getting real followers from this Mermay adventure and not just bots? Like... Most of the time I just get bot follows and it’s usually just my friends who follow my blog so ;_; Thank you. I love all of you.
