All the more reasons why Yashahime is a screwed up spinoff, Sunrise is so focused on Sessrin that they not only trash the original main characters Inuyasha and Kagome in favor of Sesshomaru and Rin and their daughters, but they also don’t even grant them a beautiful scene

An idea of a re-imagined Yashahime: Instead of being daughters of Sesshomaru, Towa and Setsuna are daughters of a female demon who had a history with the tree of ages which was an important element in Inuyasha, and as they venture to learn their origins together with the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the legend behind the tree of ages is revealed. The mother of the twins was a good-hearted demon who fought Kirinmaru who had a vile ambition and defeated him although he swore to return in 500 years. She met a human male and while she was pregnant which left her a bit weakened, Zero took the chance to attempt killing her by first killing her husband to render her so angry that she doesn't think carefully and mortally wounds her although she managed to drive Zero away. She was ready to die and join her lover but eventually struggled to stay alive at least until her daughters were born, and she died after giving birth to them. Someone placed her daughters in the tree of ages where they slept and didn't age only to reemerge around 500 years later to defeat Kirinmaru again (they however were released 15 years earlier so they'd be old enough to accomplish their duty). Either the origin of the tree of ages is revealed while their mother was alive, or the way the twins were placed in the tree explains its abilities (Inuyasha having not aged while being sealed, and the bone-eater well made from wood of the tree connecting to 500 years later). As for Inuyasha and Kagome's absence and their daughter Moroha being alone, Inuyasha’s gang, as well as Sesshomaru and Koga could have been away due to a situation elsewhere, and Inuyasha and Kagome return at the end.
