I could not resist to make a cute mouse and comet rat ☄️

My friends and I were exploring the forest behind my house, because we saw a shooting star or something fall.  We were excited to discover the crater, we illuminated the site and saw there was something in the middle of it.  Although curious, we were also scared to get it. So we went by straws and the one to get it was Timothy.  He slowly went to the middle and poked the thing with a stick to see if it was safe. Since nothing happened, he proceeded to take it by hand. As he was getting back to the group, the rock suddenly glowed and blinded all of us. When our sight came back we looked at Timothy’s hand to see the rock turned to ash. We were weirded out, then ran straight back home. We began to throw ideas on what caused the flash, then all of a sudden we felt hot, sweat was dripping from our foreheads and we couldn’t seem to move. We could only look at one another in fear, then we all felt connected for some reason and as our hearts were throbbing, we saw our bodies grow as well. Each throb our muscles grew, we got taller and the power we felt was slowly increasing. We were all dwelling in the feeling of euphoria that we didn’t noticed our changes had stopped, our eyes kept closed.   Then Timothy’s voice woke us from the trance and looked at our own body then to the others’. We all had changed, the most noticeable one was that everyone grew differently. Some looked like gymnasts, others like me were bodybuilder sized and then there was Timothy which was a hulking giant. We all stared at one another not knowing what to do next.

A photo of the comet 12P ponce-brook, taken from my bedroom window. In the middle ages, comets were regarded as omens of great change, generally bad ones. It's only after the discovery of their periodic return (during the 15's to 16's hundred) and later discovery of their nature (big balls of mostly ice and some rocks orbiting the sun) that comets stoped to be feared. Despite that, I still find them to be awe-inspiring.

For those interested, this comet is currently visible with a good pair of binoculars or a telescope if you look in the Andromeda constellation (more information on positions and visibility: https://theskylive.com/12p-info) I would have taken more pictures or a better one if the clouds had not been consistently thwarting any attempts at observation in the last week and a half.

I was able to see and take pictures of the comet C2023/A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) ! This comet will be visible in the night sky probably for the next week or two, it's currently visible both with a pair of binoculars and with the naked eye. Since it's visible very early after sunset, it's a bit difficult to spot for now, but in the coming days it's will gradually be visible later in the night and thus easier to observe.

This comet is one of the brightest in the last few years so it should be quite easy to observe.
