Yeah, heʼs kinda polyglot. And, compared to the stereotype of the stupidity of Americans in general, and Alfred in particular, this must surprise other nations.
Also, this applies to Matthew too
the fact that the US has no official language and is simultaneously a nation of immigrants opens so many doors right. i think america knows so many languages and it always shocks the other nations when he uses anything other than english because no one's going to expect the arrogant, self-obsessed loudmouth to be so bizarrely multicultural

You know, itʼs a bit funny when you speak a lot of another language and start to adopt/picking up some habits of native speakers. Like English-speakers often pronounce “Ivan” like “eye-van” when the correct pronunciation is actually “E-van”.
And sometimes I forget Iʼm Russian and I mess up his name... especially when I reading fanfics in English... I apologize, Russia
Which canons in Hetalia do you disagree with?
As for me, I do not agree that Olya is older than Ivan.
This is all a very confusing story, which is complicated to figure out, but the Russian nation is definitely much older than the Ukrainian one.
Hey, look at this:

Ivanʼ eyes are more towards purple, and Natashaʼ eyes are more blue. Draw your own conclusions if you want. But I remember that artists often draw Belarus with blue-purple eyes, in a dark and cold shade. And Ivanʼ eyes are brighter. Here are screenshots in another episode, if you want:

(One of the reasons I find this theory difficult to apply to Hetalia is because of the different drawings in different seasons/episodes. Character design changes sometimes really confuse me)
Have you thought about what eye color says about a character?
I came to the conclusion that a shade of eye color can indicate certain traits quite a long time ago. And frankly, now I think itʼs a little silly. I donʼt want to say much, so here are some summarized notes:
Deep, saturated, intense color can mean emotionality, openness, activity of the character. It can also indicate that the person is not very good or often appears so in the eyes of other people. He may not have the most pleasant character, often thinking about something with a sinister face.
A faint, light shade may indicate indecision, self-doubt. If it is also warm, then it can say about such traits as kindness, lack of conflict. This person can be easily suggestible. If it is also cool, then the character is calm, objectively assessing the situation, controlling his emotions. He can be stingy with the manifestation of feelings.
Okay, some Hetalia.
Iʼll add some screenshots. But I also believe that it will be fair to pay attention to both anime and fanarts of artists. Why? Because the artist, when drawing a person, kinda feels his character and selects colors that suit him, trying to convey his traits. I emphasize: this is solely my opinion.
Alfred. He has a bright blue eyes. He is active (hyperactive), loud and a very bright personality in his own right. Not to notice or not to hear him- what the hell are you talking about? Itʼs impossible. Alfred will always make himself felt.
Ludwig. He has a calmer, lighter and cooler shade of eyes. He is always collected, competent, responsible, pedantic. He is able to objectively assess the situation and command others, keeping emotions and feelings under control.
Matthew. He has light purple eyes; violet, as they say. Light and warm shade. He is kind, but modest and inconspicuous. Ivanʼ eyes, in comparison with his, are dark and deep.

I donʼt remember very well all the details about characters and their traits in Hetalia, I thought about it before, pretty long time ago and I have a shitty memory.
IʼM CRYING, ITʼS SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL AND CUTE! 🥺

(late) Day 5: Cardverse // Arranged Marriage
nothing goes hand in hand than cardverse and arranged marriage✨
The only thing missing is the proud Alfred, looking out from behind the door with a grin))
After watching too many Hollywood superhero movies in one sitting, Matthew stares at himself in the mirror, tries styling his hair and winking like Alfred and whispers “I’m the hero! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧” under his breath.
