I love that when Hook is just being a villain or is using sexuality as a defense mechanism against people more powerful than him he has the whole uncomfortable  innuendo and double entendre thing BUT his ACTUAL style of flirtation is intensely earnest and bluntly honest openness about his feelings. 

As soon as he decides that he likes Emma his flirtations consist of: Announcing that he likes her Announcing that he’d like to get to know her while staring soulfully into her eyes Drawing her aside to say that he connected emotionally with the point she made about knowing what it’s like to give up hope Telling her that he hopes their kiss meant something to her and that he’s trying to win her heart  Etc. 

Just bluntly telling her what he feels.
