The World's Largest Meteorite - Hoba Is Located In The North Of Namibia And Can Be Found On The Farm

The world's largest meteorite - Hoba is located in the north of Namibia and can be found on the farm Hoba in vicinity of northern town Grootfontein. It was discovered and first described by J. Brits in 1920. His statement can be seen in the Grootfontein Museum. The iron meteorite discovered is the largest single meteorite ever found and the largest piece of iron ever found near Earth's surface.

Brits entdeckt und erstmals beschrieben. Seine Aussage ist im Grootfontein Museum zu sehen. Der entdeckte Eisenmeteorit ist der größte Einzelmeteorit, der jemals gefunden wurde, und das größte Eisenstück, das man jemals nahe der Erdoberfläche fand.

Camp Syncro is located at the northern end of Marienfluss valley (Namibia) , right at the edge of the Kunene river, at the border to Angola. It is a remote paradise where you can find a place of recreation, far off civilisation-induced stress. Camp Syncro is a unique safari camp for individualists.  It can be reached only by 4x4 vehicle within a day's drive from either Opuwo or Sesfontein. It is the only camp in that region. A unique atmosphere is created by the subtle background rush of the river, the recurrent clacking of cattle and goat hooves on the pebble stones and the warbling of the mourning dove in the trees.

The Skeleton Coast is the northern part of the Atlantic coast of Namibia and south of Angola from the Kunene River south to the Swakop River, although the name is sometimes used to describe the entire Namib Desert coast. The Skeleton Coast’s rough seas, roaring winds and strong ocean currents are primarily responsible for many of these beached ships’ fate. Many of the wrecks on the harsh coastline have been completely destroyed by the sun, sea, and wind but a few are still visible.

Die Skelettküste ist der nördliche Teil der Atlantikküste Namibias und erstreckt sich südlich von Angola, vom Kunene-Fluss bis zum Swakop-Fluss. Gelegentlich wird der Name auch verwendet, um die gesamte Küste der Namib-Wüste zu beschreiben. Die raue See der Skelettküste, die tosenden Winde und die starken Meeresströmungen sind in erster Linie für das Schicksal vieler dieser gestrandeten Schiffe verantwortlich. Viele der Wracks an der rauen Küste wurden von Sonne, Meer und Wind vollständig zerstört, aber einige sind noch immer sichtbar.

Rooisand Lodge is situated on the fringe of the Namib Desert in central Namibia, halfway between Windhoek and Walvis Bay at the Atlantic Ocean. Just about 20 kilometers straight line from Rooisand, is the famous Gamsberg – Namibia’s Table Mountain. From Windhoek, the distance to Rooisand is about 170 kilometers. Rooisand is reachable with small airplanes as well.

Die Rooisand Lodge liegt am Rande der Namib-Wüste in Zentral-Namibia, auf halber Strecke zwischen Windhoek und Walvis Bay am Atlantik. Nur etwa 20 Kilometer von Rooisand entfernt liegt der berühmte Gamsberg - Namibias Tafelberg. Von Windhoek beträgt die Entfernung nach Rooisand etwa 170 Kilometer. Rooisand ist auch mit kleinen Flugzeugen erreichbar.

This rustic "Ghost Canyon" cabin, located 6 km from Desert Horse Inn, offers simplistic while exclusive accommodation as it tucked away in a secluded valley, where a rusty bullet-ridden Hudson Terraplane 1934 wreck greets you at the entrance road. According to other rumours the real story is much simpler: the last owner of the car got so angry when it stopped moving once again that he decided to use a gun to put it out of its misery. The Hudson have been out there for more than 70 years but still looks surprisingly intact, all the paint is gone, but some of the chrome and nickel parts still look amazingly good.

Gerüchten zufolge ist die wahre Geschichte viel einfacher: Der letzte Besitzer des Autos wurde so wütend, als es wieder einmal stehen blieb, dass er beschloss es mit der Waffe von seinem Elend zu erlösen. Der Hudson liegt dort mehr als 70 Jahre, sieht aber immer noch überraschend intakt aus. Die gesamte Farbe ist weg, aber einige der Chrom- und Nickelteile sehen immer noch erstaunlich gut aus.
