First Off: Thank You Both For The Nice Words.

First Off: Thank You Both For The Nice Words.

First off: Thank you both for the nice words.

Now advice time:

So we’re mostly interested is steps 1 to 3 (4 was just for renegadegurski)

Here’s the good news: The texture, which is what I think you want, comes from not making use of any fancy Photoshop tools. It’s all in one layer with the most standard possible brush at 100% and the eraser.

First Off: Thank You Both For The Nice Words.

It’s all about starting softly then going over it again a couple of times. Doing it all in the same layer and gradually erasing old lines, as opposed to making a new layer and dumping the sketch in the end, makes the end result feel a lot richer and warmer to me. It won’t aways be the right approach, tho.

Hopefully the step-by-step helps and, as always, have a wonderful day.

Do you have any tips on submitting your art online/ or in general to sell commissions?

submitting your art: just keep doing it, and block people who insult your work if they really cross a line, but try looking for useful critique tucked in between the horrible words! be it Nasty or Constructive critique, make it work for you so you can improve- the best flip off to haters is your gradual improvement and the knowledge that their words only made you more formidable!

commissions: if you’re gonna be doing paypal transactions make sure to do it via their invoice system! paypal’s been strict with its ToS lately but also the invoices help give you a record of what exactly you wanted to sell and for how much, and if a dispute comes up you can, in the most literal sense, pull up the receipts to protect yourself!
