Begging Pleading Needing People To Let Billy Hargrove Exist Without Max Mayfield. Write It On My Grave

Begging pleading needing people to let Billy Hargrove exist without Max Mayfield. Write it on my grave header. Tattoo it on my forehead.

Not everything in context of Billy has to be about, revolve around or relate to Max.

He's his own person. Neil Hargrove forcibly made Billy's life revolve around and to a degree be controlled by Max. I'm literally begging you to stop carrying that trend into fandom and how you interact with fandom content. There's nothing wrong with creating a better, healthier relationship between them but I'm dog-sick of seeing people acting like Billy's entire existence relies on Max. Like there's no feasible value in Billy surviving and thriving unless he's still shackled to Max and to the idea of being her responsible, doting brother.

He was an abused teen shoved into a replacement family that was weaponised against him. Whatever responsibilities you think Billy has to Max I can assure you don't exist.

hmmmm maybe i would jus like 2 look out for others and warn everyone 2 be careful and to avoid an actual dangerous predator. srry for not being clear on that

While I appreciate the attempted clarity; the original post wasn't about the user being a pedophile or known abuser. That had no relevance and wasn't physically mentioned at all. That wasn't what the OP (presumably, you, hello there) was trying to warn for or was accusing the user of.

You weren't warning people they should block a known, real-life pedophile and abuser. That is not what you said in your post.

This is not the helpful act you think it is, and a cute little 'don't harass them!' note does nothing. If you find a blog you, personally, are uncomfortable with, block them and move on. If they're not posting rampant violations of the TOS then they are of no consequence to you, or anyone who follows you. The people who follow you are perfectly capable of doing their own research and drawing their own conclusions of how to curate their online space.

found a pro/ship stimblog while looking for some gifs, the blog is @/kodogender

Do Not Harass Them, Just Report/Block

Movie characters get ridiculously funnier when you realize they had to consciously choose that outfit and/or source it. Like when you see funky little villains in their pleather corsets and giant antler helmets and detailed little metalwork bits. They chose that. They had that made so they could be a fashionable, funky little villain.

Like. Imagine a gritty, dark action hero movie where the villain just wears a Target hoodie and knockoff Martins and that's it. And they just spend the whole movie roasting the hero's detailed three-piece costume. Or vice versa.

An actor who is openly okay with their character being shipped with other characters or who is openly okay with being shipped with their costars/friends is not automatically giving you permission to engage them in it or push it on them.

It is not an open invitation to send them explicit ship art or tag them in ship posts or ask them inappropriate questions at Cons. It is not an open invitation to try to dig out their sexuality or use their stance on shipping as "evidence" that they're X or not X.

"I am okay with people having creative perspectives on my relationships." =/= "I am okay with being forced to constantly see it, be asked about it or have it impact my life."

I've seen people bringing explicit art to conventions for the actors to sign and for some of them it has very clearly made them uncomfortable. Even if its not intended to be RPF you are still using their exact likeness in pornography.

Unless you know with 100% certainly that someone is okay with being actively engaged in something, don't try to push their involvement. Stop asking them invasive questions at panels. Stop bringing explicit art or fanfiction to meets.

In real terms, its like when your parents or friends insist you have a crush on someone or you must be secretly dating. It makes things uncomfortable, awkward, and after a point it gets frustrating and upsetting. There are countless examples of famous people who've had their lives impacted by people trying to force ship content on them, be it by destroying their real-life relationships or just by making them actively resent the characters, fans and/or ships.

Septiplier (Youtubers Mark Fischbach/Markiplier and Seán McLoughlin/Jacksepticeye) is a prime example of this, where fans were so determined to actively force them to engage with shipping that it began to negatively impact their friendship and real-life relationships to the extent that for a while they took a break on being publicly seen as interacting.

To summarize; Creating ship content and shipping characters or RPF is fine and valid, but unless an actor has explicitly said they are happy to be engaged in it or presented with it, you should do your due diligence to make sure you're not exposing them to content or trying to force that content to sway/impact/represent reality. (E.g; many straight actors are perfectly fine with their fans creating queer RPF, and it does not "provide proof" that they're actually not straight.)

Congratulations on outing yourself as a multi-faceted bigot overflowing with wilful ignorance and in possession of not a single atom of maturity or capability for understanding.

Trans people are upset that an anti-Semitic game created by a bigoted, racist TERF is being supported, the funds of which will in portion be given to anti-trans propaganda efforts. Every time you buy something HP related, JKR gets money. Money which she then openly brags about donating to campaigns and charities and political corporations who are anti-LGBT+ and whom are actively harmful to the LGBT+ community as a whole. That a single, non-relevant trans character is being included as a poor shield against the rightful claims of transphobia and bigotry.

Jewish people are upset that a heavily anti-Semitic game is being created based off the anti-Semitic lore of the original books and movies, despite Jewish people pointing out the first twice that its offensive and anti-Semitic. They've told us time and time again that the representations, historical adaptations and lore of things within the HP world are copy-pastes of anti-Semitic propaganda. That JKR specifically took components used in the Holocaust propaganda and put them in a game targeted at teens and young adults.

@chickpeathief made a detailed, wonderful post explaining the intricacies of the latter, and I highly recommend reading it before you open your mouth and declare the trans and/or Jewish people rightfully upset that the game is being upheld over blatant bigotry are "autistic trans crybabies who should die mad about it and shut up because they make the community of people happy to support a rampantly bigoted woman look bad."

If you honest to god look at people who are upset about JKR being repeatedly allowed to harm others just because she wrote some magical universe you're balls deep in, and you have the audacity to demean them, you really need to take a long look at yourself and take a step back from the internet and evaluate who you are as a person. This is appalling.

Woke and maybe trans and/or autistic crybabies are really spoiling the story of Hogwart's Legacy as if that's anything other than a thinly veiled childish and petty act. As if that's gonna deter people from playing the game lmao

"Grow up and read a different book!1!1!1! Play a different game!!1!1!1!"

How about you grow up and realize that you're making yourselves and the LGBT+ community look leagues worse every day.

Die mad about it.
