I'm Actually Sick Of Living In A World Where All People Do Is Complain And Crap On Each Other For Things
I'm actually sick of living in a world where all people do is complain and crap on each other for things without actually making any effort to contribute to society or change things at all.
"Our politics suck! The people in charge don't care!" "Well, do you vote?" "Of course not! Why would I?!"
"I never know which products are helpful for my disability! The reviews tell me nothing!" "Well, do you leave a review or share the information when you find one that is?" "What, no? Why would I?"
"My city is rife with homeless people and trash and its disgusting. I never want to be out in it anymore." "Why don't you petition for your local council to employ the homeless as litter pickers? Two birds, one stone. Homeless people get jobs, trash gets cleaned up." "That's so much effort and they'll never do it anyway!"
Like I'm sorry to tell you but things don't just magically happen. You actually have to make them happen.
Gods can bestow a bountiful harvest but they cannot bless barren fields.
That is to say; you can do all the praying and complaining and wanting you like, but unless you actually put forth a little effort, you're not going to get any results.
Vote. Leave reviews. Campaign. Answer questions. Ask questions. Be stubborn. Sign petitions. Organise that litter picking volunteer day. Upvote and share posts with valuable information.
Sitting around whining and trashing other people for not doing enough when you yourself do nothing is not changing the world.

I did litter picking as a hobby in my last home, and eventually people started to thank me, and then eventually someone set up a group with me! It got too much for my hands after a while but it shows that its not futile to do something like that if you are able. Do you have any advice to on how to engage petitioning people when it you are autistic and disabled and thus struggle to put your limited energy towards things you feel aren't gonna lead anywhere and be pointless?
One of the best ways you can help if you have low reserves of energy or motivation is actually by helping others to achieve your shared goal. Chances are if you've found something wanting in your local community or with a larger issue, other people have too.
You can take on less demanding, perhaps even more fun tasks like designing leaflets or images that can be shared around. Especially in the era of convenience and hilarity where low quality memes can often accomplish what would once require fourteen degrees and few years experience in digital design.
Often people get burnt out by trying to assume a spearhead or higher effort role in a cause. Taking on too much when you simply don't have the capability to meet your own expectations is a not insignificant portion of why causes can feel 'pointless' or 'unachievable.'
For example, a lot of the common activism I do is actually simply connecting people to other people who can mutually aid them in their cause. If someone has the knowledge for how to get something to happen but simply not the time, I help them find someone who has the time that they can feed their knowledge to so that person can do what they can't.
Local good cause doesn't have a Facebook page for awareness and easy communication? Don't have the spoons to fully set it up and mod it yourself? Lightly prod the suggestion at someone who does. Encourage them to set it up. Maybe you can do small parts of setting it up like typing out the about section or sending out page invites.
Also; acknowledging when its too much for you and taking a step back is so fucking important. I already have a post about this; but forcing yourself into activism constantly is terrible for you, your cause and the people around you. Take breaks when you need them. Delegate when you need to. Take days to enjoy the world you live in for the very finite amount of time that you're in it.
(Free Palestine anon)
Ok so...Idk if you're jewish and/or have much knowledge about this kind of prejudice, but do you have advice for how to avoid (or at least to pay attention) in case a certain post has some antisemetic misinformation?
(If you didn't understand, I could try to make it clear)
If you're asking how to avoid misinformation in posts, the answer is the same as with any validity verification of information:
Check who is posting it. Do they post a lot of contradictory information? Do they claim to be a certain ethnicity, religion, race, ect? Do they speak in certain ways? Do they post or reblog a lot of the same content or information? Are they politically bias? (E.g; they might claim to be British but is the way they speak distinctly Irish or American?)
Research the information given in the post for yourself. Make sure to look at a variety of sources, not just one. Is there a lot of people referencing this information? Has anyone called this information false on other platforms? Can you find any evidence to support the information given? Are there news articles, broadcasts, ect?
If you like to have breaks from subjects of an upsetting nature but still want to remain informed, consider creating a second account where you can follow a multitude of people who's primary focus is what you want to be informed about. This way you can use that blog to fact check, investigate, follow people, source and so forth while not having the entirety of your dashboard on your "main" account flooded constantly with content you may not be in the mindset to see.
Fucking insane how people will see something I post that they agree with but they have to virtue signal that they're not a proshipper before expressing their agreement/support even when the post has nothing to do with proshipping.
For your consideration 🙃

(By the way you don't need to put gaps in links when sending them, you can just paste the whole link.)
Link to the post for reference.
That aside, nothing about that post is new, per se. Asks like this have been going around for years and are only getting more and more creative the more and more social issues we generate.
Its why on my personal blog, asks like this simply get straight up blocked. I don't just delete them, I flat out block whatever anonymous muppet sent it. On this blog I provide a little bit more leniency, both as an example and because the very nature of this blog is discussing things or pointing out things like why those asks are giant, steaming bait turds.
Some asks will be warranted a smidge of assumed good faith, usually if I suspect its a case of English not being someone's primary language.
But that said; yeah. I fully support the post. Always be wary of asks which try to prod you for virtue signalling on something or asks which try to namedrop others as being a bad person without any attached proof.
I really want to ask about something regarding the Free Palestine. Do you allow it?
'Allow it' in what regard?
