Fucking Insane How People Will See Something I Post That They Agree With But They Have To Virtue Signal
Fucking insane how people will see something I post that they agree with but they have to virtue signal that they're not a proshipper before expressing their agreement/support even when the post has nothing to do with proshipping.

man I don't know if its antis or mean people, but two actors got harassed in under a month
One was an actor for "Mad Max Furiosa" because the character he played almost sexually assaulted the young Furiosa in the movie, and after getting "concerned" messages on social media, he posted a statement on Facebook that essentially goes "my job is to portray a character based on the direction and script provided to me. I appreciate your understanding and support in recognizing the distinction between fiction and reality."
Now we have another harassment case where an actor for Game of Thrones had to limit comments because he was getting comments like "where where you when the heir to the throne was murdered?" and "man I hope someone jumps this guy" etc
I'm begging people to separate the actor from the character
So many actors have been victim of delusional idiots going for their throats over literal fictional roles. I remember Dacre Montgomery speaking out about getting some absolutely vile hate because he played Billy Hargrove and its like... What goes through these people's heads? Do they not see the monsters and the pause button and connect that its not actually real?

I did litter picking as a hobby in my last home, and eventually people started to thank me, and then eventually someone set up a group with me! It got too much for my hands after a while but it shows that its not futile to do something like that if you are able. Do you have any advice to on how to engage petitioning people when it you are autistic and disabled and thus struggle to put your limited energy towards things you feel aren't gonna lead anywhere and be pointless?
One of the best ways you can help if you have low reserves of energy or motivation is actually by helping others to achieve your shared goal. Chances are if you've found something wanting in your local community or with a larger issue, other people have too.
You can take on less demanding, perhaps even more fun tasks like designing leaflets or images that can be shared around. Especially in the era of convenience and hilarity where low quality memes can often accomplish what would once require fourteen degrees and few years experience in digital design.
Often people get burnt out by trying to assume a spearhead or higher effort role in a cause. Taking on too much when you simply don't have the capability to meet your own expectations is a not insignificant portion of why causes can feel 'pointless' or 'unachievable.'
For example, a lot of the common activism I do is actually simply connecting people to other people who can mutually aid them in their cause. If someone has the knowledge for how to get something to happen but simply not the time, I help them find someone who has the time that they can feed their knowledge to so that person can do what they can't.
Local good cause doesn't have a Facebook page for awareness and easy communication? Don't have the spoons to fully set it up and mod it yourself? Lightly prod the suggestion at someone who does. Encourage them to set it up. Maybe you can do small parts of setting it up like typing out the about section or sending out page invites.
Also; acknowledging when its too much for you and taking a step back is so fucking important. I already have a post about this; but forcing yourself into activism constantly is terrible for you, your cause and the people around you. Take breaks when you need them. Delegate when you need to. Take days to enjoy the world you live in for the very finite amount of time that you're in it.
By the way if you send me snot-nosed massive rants bending over ass backwards and tying yourself into knots to create the most victimised "exception" to that one safe space post I wrote, you're just straight up getting blocked.
I'll read the first few lines up until it becomes apparent what you've sent and then I'm skipping over all 14 paragraphs to the end to hit BLOCK.
Stop wasting your time. Stop wasting mine. I don't care what you have to say and nobody else is going to see your white knighting.
(The person who sent me the ask is blocked so won't see this but for future reference to the rest of you.)

if they see completely normal family interactions between two fully clothed characters, I’m afraid of what they’ll say about the bathing scene in “my neighbor Totoro”, where the dad took a bath with his daughters together in one tub
there’s nothing inappropriate or dirty about this scene, he’s just taking a bath with his daughters, and the only thing you can see are their smiling faces peaking above the bathtub
thankfully I haven’t encountered antis saying weird things about this scene, but I fear they would, maybe at some point when it gains enough attention on socmed (but I hope not)
Antis will find issues with pretty much anything, I can assure you. I still remember the whole debacle when David Beckham posted that photo of him giving his daughter a kiss and they were shitting themselves about how its inappropriate and how he's almost definitely fucking his own child.
Unfortunately the idiots we have the joy of being exposed to online also exist out in the real world. They're going to have their issues; I just ignore them. If they want to twist themselves in knots about innocent content, who am I to stop them? They just look like morons and only get taken seriously in the festering nest of likeminds.

Anyway.
I am actually begging some people to just let some spaces exist untouched by real-world issues and horrors.
Like I've lost count of the amount of times peaceful game or fandom servers have been ruined by people stampeding in with political rants, bitching about world issues, demanding internal activism, demanding vent channels so they can whine about their shitty parents, ect.
Like. Respectfully. Not every single space has to be inclusive of and welcoming of outside topics. The real world sucks. We don't needed to be reminded of that absolutely everywhere.
