Word Of Honour Spoilers Up To And Including Episode 6 (rewatch)

Word of Honour spoilers up to and including episode 6 (rewatch)

I am finally rewatching Word of Honour. In recent times this has been my favourite show. I have yet to read the book or Qi Ye, so please - no spoilers for those.

These are some things that I have noticed on my rewatch so far (6 episodes in):

Shen Shen is an idiot. An impulsive idiot. This is much more noticeable during a rewatch. So much mistrust could have been avoided if he had just calmed down a little bit and held his horses before jumping to fighting but hey, that is pretty on point for his character.

Wen Kexing IS a mother hen. I had gotten used to how the fandom memes on him for it and had forgotten just how cannon this is.

Cheng Ling has every right to be distrustful of his uncles. On my first rewatch this had really annoyed me but after noticing just how much the sworn brothers of the 5 Lake Alliance didn't trust each other, it makes a lot more sense.

This had shocked me on my first watch but just being reminded of how many times this show gave the figure to censorship was great! XD

Han Ying shows up in the Jianghu a lot earlier then I had remembered so that was cool.

Also just the first scene with the Scorpion King. Now, I have been his fan from his first appearance. However, after I got to know him and his motivations - he became one of my favourite antagonists (very morally grey, that one is).

I think that those are all of my observations so far. I can't wait to continue the show and continue sharing my thoughts here. This show very much is my current favourite C-Drama and has been my favourite for almost a year now.

This is brilliant!!! 😭 I'm getting emotional over this.

burn (hamilton) x good omens

Hi. Good omens mascot here. I'm doing fine. It's fine. Here's burn, from aziraphale to god and heaven. I kind of imagine it during the apocalypse in season 1, when Heaven/the Metatron denied him help.

BURN

I saved every prayer you taught me From the moment I read them, I knew you were mine I thought you were mine You said you were mine Do you know what Crowley said When he saw your first order arrive? He said, be careful with Heaven, love They'll believe what it takes to survive You and your words flooded my senses Your sentences left me defenceless You built a religion out of paragraphs You built cathedrals I'm rereading the prayers you taught me I'm searching and scanning for answers in every line For some kind of sign And when you were mine The world seemed to burn... You published the prayers they wrote you You told the whole world How you brought peace into our lands But in spreading your name, You've ruined lives... Do you know what Crowley said? When she read what you'd done She said, they call it ineffable But they know what it is they've become You and your words, obsessed with your great plan Your sentences border on senseless And you are paranoid in every paragraph How they worship you... You, you, you I'm erasing myself from the narrative Let future theologians wonder How Aziraphale reacted when you let him Fall You have ruined all I'm watching it burn I'm watching it burn Heaven has no right to my heart Heaven has no place in my head They don't get to know what I said I'm burning the prayers, burning the stories That might have redeemed you You forfeit the place in my heart You forfeit all right to my faith You're as real as a fairytale With only the memories of when you were mine I hope that you burn.

thinking about how the hunger games were designed to prove that without society, order, government, someone to rule, we devolve into little more than animals, and how the games themselves prove over and over again that this is not true. We see it in every single game we witness.

Katniss placing flowers around Rue's body in the arena. Thresh sparing Katniss because she was kind to Rue, even though he was making it that much harder for himself to win.

Haymitch going back for Maysilee after hearing her scream even though their alliance had been broken. Haymitch holding her as she dies the same way Katniss did Rue.

Coral's "I can't have killed them all for nothing" when she realizes she's not going home. Lamina cutting down Marcus at great personal risk. And, my favorite moment in tbosas, Reaper collecting the bodies of his fellow tributes, his peers, even the ones who tried to kill him, into a pile. Taking the weapons from their hands. Closing their eyes and crossing their arms in the best approximation of a proper burial he can manage, covering them with the Capitol flag as a makeshift shroud.

The Games bring out the worst in people, yes. But despite the extreme circumstances, despite the exterior pressure of the Capitol, despite the fact that it could mean pain and heartbreak and death, it also shows that people have an enormous capacity for goodness. That even in a situation purposefully designed to make empathy impossible, people can't help but have it anyway.

Snow looks at the Games and all he can see is what's inside himself-- this pure animalistic drive to conquer and defeat. He kills and it feels good and he thinks that everyone else must feel that way too. He doesn't realize (maybe can't realize) that he is the exception, not the rule. He cannot see outside himself, outside his own warped perspective, to realize that the fact that people do show humanity in the games proves his entire worldview wrong.

Word of Honour spoilers up to and including episode 12

This is a continuation of my previous post where I set out some of the things I noticed while watching this show a second time.

Here's goes:

Just how involved in the Jianghu Tian Chuang was from the very beginning. I had completely forgotten about that!

I was once again reminded of how much an impulsive idiot Shen Shen is. Like how did this guy succeed in being sect leader????? You'd think that the previous guy would have picked someone with at least a little bit more political savviness. Or at the very least that he would have been taught it.

We get our 1st "my soulmate" a lot earlier than I had remembered xD.

Gao Chong is a lot more of a careful leader than I had seen during my first watch with how he interacts with his sworn brothers.

The clue about who the main antagonist truly is is sprinkled into the story really well and sometimes the off hand things the characters say really foreshadow what will happen. As someone who had already watched the show and is rewatching it, it was delightful to pick up on those hints.

Speaking of foreshadowing, the deaths of the 4 soulmates (I forgot what the story called them) really does a good job foreshadowing the bleakness of the fight for the Glazed Armour.

That's it so far!

Spoilers for the last movie of Harry Potter (also book)

In general, I have a lot of mixed feelings for these movies and books.

I love them because I grew up on them. One of my first ships ever was Dramione in fanon. I could never see it in canon.

I was always in love with the story and how it developed and how it made me feel.

Yesterday, I ended up rewatching the last film with my family because it was showing on the TV. And watching that film as an adult now, it made me realise just how many of the adults in the film did their best to protect the next generation. They weren't always successful. However, Voldemort ultimate died because Harry had been protected by Lily and James's sacrifices; through the efforts of Narcissa Malfoy to keep her son, Draco, alive and through the pact that she and Severus Snape made; through Snape and Dumbledore working together because Snape's love for Lily is everlasting.

There are many more examples of love throughout the entire story of Harry Potter. They remind us that as much as love can be our greatest weakness with people like Voldemort and his deatheaters using loved one's to control a person's actions; love is also what allows rebellion and change to flourish. Love is our greatest strength, no matter which form it takes.

The Battle of Hogwarts is won because people believed that kindness, love and acceptance can overcome hatred, cruelty and bigotry and ignorance.

I guess, that is why it never made sense to me why an author who preached about love, kindness and acceptance in her stories could be so hateful to people who are already hurt by how society is.

Nothing that I have said in this post is new or profound. This is however the first time that I could finally express my feelings on the matter of Harry Potter. It feels good to talk about a fandom that I am sort of a veteran of xD.

I know that nowadays there is even more to explore within this fandom with the Marauders side of the fandom exploding on Ao3 and on here. I just might dip my toes in there for a little while and explore the world of Harry Potter from a different perspective.

But honestly fuck J K Rowling. There's enough bullshit going on in this world already. Stop adding to it.
