One more highlights post before going back to our regular schedule of Diamond x Pearl REWRITE (& please excuse the slight style changes through these lol, as I made some of these a year or two ago, while others I made leading up to posting DxP REWRITE on my Instagram parasol_lady_ansy).

As I said on Ansy’s timeline, BW was a very coming-of-age story for Ansy, maybe the most impactful for her character as a whole. It was her first official Pokémon journey, as her very first one through Kanto was cut short (see timeline), leaving her with PTSD. Enter Rain, her then-service Eevee (now Vaporeon!) - she was given to Ansy right before she moved to Unova to help adjust to life there.

She met all kinds of friends, enemies, rivals, & even a mysterious Champion from another region. This is when she first met Ingo & Emmet (they were about 19, brand new Subway Bosses, while she was 15). Skyla was about 16, & still working on her pilot license where she can fly industrial planes (like she does in BW2), but can fly small recreational aircraft like ultralights. Cynthia was also aged down to a teenager, though older than Ansy (looking forward to when she appears in DxP REWRITE 🖤)

The last fight against N, then Ghetsis, was a big turning point for her, as that was the first time since the incident in Kanto that she finally allowed herself to be angry, synching perfectly with the fiery white dragon Reshiram. She & they have a very deep bond, & while she didn’t catch them (Ansy befriends Legendaries instead of catching them), they would come when called wherever she was in Unova. 🪽

For this & the Scarlet x Violet series, I mostly just did single panel comics with a few 4 panel comics. It was the first time I really finished a series like that, so it was a big step for me as an artist, leading up to Diamond x Pearl REWRITE.

This was the first Pokémon game we played as a couple (apart from replaying X & Y a bit), & so this story is based on our love story 🩵 We met at work, & I confessed first. After a few years of dating & playing Pokémon, we were engaged & then married. Ikrit came to Galar on Professor Cozmo’s behest to study the Wishing Stars, while Ansy came a couple years back to learn about gardening (as the first run I did, I tried a different trainer class than my typical Parasol Lady, Gardener 🍃).

Small note: you might’ve noticed there being a year gap between the main story & the DLC post-game. During that gap, they went to Hoenn, Unova, & Kanto as detailed on Ansy’s timeline as well as Ikrit’s. Mostly it was to meet each other’s family & friends as they got closer.

Figured out how to add pictures & screenshots to post descriptions, so I made some updates to some of the character profiles for Diamond x Pearl REWRITE as well as the most recent update to the comic 🏞️✨ Be sure to check it out to see more about how I connected my playthroughs of Legends Arceus & BDSP to DxP REWRITE 🩵

水の日おめでとう! Happy Water (Vaporeon) Day! 🌧️💧💦

Very last minute decision lol, like I JUST drew this - I figured I owed it to Rain to make something for her day! 🩵

There are a number of Japanese nature holidays (Greenery Day, Sea Day, Mountain Day, etc). Today, Water Day is a more recent addition, & Vaporeon is the official mascot / ambassador! Along with this Pokedex entry (my favorite!), Vaporeon’s cellular structure is closer to water, & so can melt into water seamlessly (hence why they can learn Acid Armor). They also like to live by beautiful, clean lakesides, & hunt fish PKMN. 🐟 

While I’ve yet to have a in-game version of Rain who has her Hidden Ability, Hydration (heals status conditions in rain), that‘s her canon ability in DxP REWRITE & all her adventures with Ansy - perfect as a team lead for a rain team. 🌧️ 

DxP REWRITE - Splash Plate

Ramanas Park (once known as Ramanas Island) is off the coast of Sandgem Town (once the Sandgem Flats). That’s where the Splash Plate ended up 150 years after Legends Arceus. In game, it’s locked behind Surf, but since they’re here, why not?💧

Hello! I actually find it faster / easier than lined because I don’t have to meticulously draw clean lines, then color within them.

Aw man…I was just talking about this the other day with the mister. Water starters are my fave (big surprise I’m sure lol 🌧️💧), though I don’t know if I can pick ONE all time favorite 😅 I do have a top 3 though: the Squirtle line, the Oshawott line, & the Froakie line 🩵
