This Has Been On My Mind For A Bit But... And I Have No Idea If People Have Pointed It Out. Colors Play
This has been on my mind for a bit but... and I have no idea if people have pointed it out. Colors play a role here. This is not a shipping post.
Mori and Fukuzawa
Dazai and Chuuya
Atsushi and Akutagawa
These three pairs parallel each other. No?
Okay, wait, let me ?briefly? explain.
Mori and Fukuzawa
They're the first, they became partners, or kind of I guess, because of Natsume. He saw potential on the pair being together and he was not wrong since, from a flashback, they were a good pair.
Their colors are red and blue. Mori is red, Fukuzawa is blue.
Dazai and Chuuya
Second pair which goes by the name Soukoku or Double Black. They were paired because of Mori thinking that they can make something good together.
Their colors are also red and blue. Dazai is blue, Chuuya is red.
Atsushi and Akutagawa
Third pair, most likely the last except if we see either Akutagawa or Atsushi pick their next generation kind of thing. They got paired by Dazai because of plans that needed them both.
If you can't guess, their colors are red and blue. Akutagawa is red, Atsushi is blue.
Except of their colors, something just feels parallel with them. Okay, let's say this.
In season 3, episode 11 (idk manga chapter), Mori's fight with Fukuzawa, although it felt like it's own thing that has nothing to do with the other pairs, it somehow reminded me of them, mostly Dazai and Chuuya because they were/are closer than Atsushi and Akutagawa are.
Imagine this, Dazai was Mori, Chuuya was Fukuzawa. Does this go against their colors? Yes. But, imagine that placing because reality is, just like Mori, Dazai knows he wouldn't win against Chuuya. Chuuya doesn't need to use an ability, he knows how to fight and that was proven in the dungeon. And since I said dungeon, take that scene. Chuuya could have killed Dazai, but didn't because Dazai backed him up into a corner. That same method of talking before you die, distracting or manipulating your enemy and then gaining the upper hand is what Mori used too. Do you see it? (I also didn't do a mistake with the colors, it's to show the role change.)
But the thing about the pairs is that they differ from each other.
Let me list them:
Fukuzawa's and Mori's abilities don't compliment each other. Mori was most likely to use a scalpel to kill his enemies than his ability. While Dazai/Chuuya's and Atsushi/Akutagawa's abilities do.
Atsushi and Akutagawa don't trust each other at the beginning, even as we continue with the story, they don't trust each other quickly. Of course, they show they trust each other at a certain chapter later on. While Dazai/Chuuya and Mori/Fukuzawa show to trust each other from the start, maybe Fukuzawa had doubts but all of them did.
Dazai and Chuuya started from the same path. Of course Chuuya was with the Sheep when he met Dazai but he very quickly becomes part of the Port Mafia. While Atsushi/Akutagawa and Mori/Fukuzawa were/are never in the same organization.
Mori would never risk or die for Fukuzawa, rather he would kill him if that's what was needed. Chuuya would risk his life for Dazai. Akutagawa died for Atsushi.
This one is stupid but... Fukuzawa and Mori are not called a particular way. While Dazai/Chuuya have Soukoku (double black) and Akutagawa/Atsushi have Shin Soukoku (new double black). -learned that Fukuzawa/Mori do have a name which is Zenki Soukoku but I will not edit this out bc it's 5 on 5 and I'm a weirdo.-
What about similar things? Let's list those:
Created by a third party. Natsume made Fukuzawa/Mori. Mori created Dazai/Chuuya. Dazai created Akutagawa/Atsushi.
The colors. Red and Blue.
Yin and Yang. More apparent with Akutagawa and Atsushi, even in the hair. While Chuuya and Dazai have a more soulmate feel to them. Still Ying and Yang.
Their love/hate relationship. More apparent with Dazai and Chuuya.
This attacks point number 3 in the previous list but, different paths, at least in the present.
This was not a BRIEF explanation. Oh well. I didn't expect to play so much with color either but here I am. Will anyone read this? No. It's too long but it might grab someone's attention. Has anyone pointed this out? Probably. But I promise I didn't see it from somewhere, it was shower thoughts. π My thoughts about this are a bit all over the place but whatever.
Whoever read this. Legend. I thank you for reading my rambling.
Goodbye!

I need to understand this! Someone to just, I don't know, sit and analyze it with me or something.
Okay, Dazai's bandages. Yes, I have seen headcanons or theories, whatever you want to call it. Some say it's to cover the scars from his suicide attempts or scars from self harm. Others say it's because of his ability. Others think he's transgender or non-binary. All that are valid points but I have a specific way I wanna talk about this. The bandage on the eye. That's my focus and what drives me crazy.
Mafia Days Dazai, one of his eyes covered.

Picture from Dark Era light novel.
From the very moment we see Dazai in the past, we see he has his eye covered. With that, his depth perception is gone. So, why? Why does he cover his eye and takes away an advantage? Of course, the longer he has it the more used to it he is but why did he do it in the first place?
Present time Dazai, no eyes covered.

Panel from Chapter 97.
He has them uncovered. Yes, Oda took the bandage off and Dazai kept it as such and it's probably because Oda did that he kept it but bear with me.
BEAST Boss Mafia Dazai, other eye covered.

BEAST Manga Panel from Chapter 12.
Beast!Dazai covers the other eye. Now, if you have read the BEAST light novel, you know that this Dazai is aware that he's living in a book and has gone through many realities in said book and as such choose to cover his other eye. Why? Was it because it's an alternate universe? But, if he has gone through many, why is BEAST the one he changes the bandage's position? Or has he changed it before BEAST? Still, why?
And the last one, which isn't about the eye being covered BUT the hairstyle. Stupid. Dumb. Bear with me here.
Dead Apple Dazai, no eyes covered but side-bangs.

Dead Apple Manga Panel from Chapter 4.
Joining the bad guys in the movie, he changes his hairstyle. Why? Ofc, he looks amazing dear God but he didn't have to change his hairstyle.
So, what all this makes me conclude, except of giving me a headache, Dazai changing the bandage, not having it or changing his hairstyle has to do with morals. In Bungou Stray Dogs, everyone has questionable morals, all characters fall into this grey area, some having "good" and others "evil" tendencies. Dazai is just simply, morally grey. He's not good, he's not bad, he's just there, he doesn't care what side he is in, good or bad. Yet, he goes through these changes, why? I truly think it has something to do with his morals.
Mafia days and BEAST have the eyes covered because he doesn't have "good" morals. He does bad things and mentally gets worse. It's kind of like he feels he doesn't deserve to see the world in full if he does bad things to it, also blocking him out from seeing the good in it. But, I cannot explain the whole, changing the eye which gets covered at different realities.
His eyes being uncovered in the ADA, although I do believe it has to do with Oda, it's also because he acts with "good" morals. He is a "good" guy. Saving and helping people and so if in the Mafia days he felt he didn't deserve to see the world then by doing good, he allows himself to see the full world and also it's good side.
And Dead Apple... that hairstyle will not be brought back so I donβt have to analyze it and it's probably one of the things that will never get answered BUT his eyes aren't covered, meaning if we take what I said, he allows himself to see the good in the world even though he's in the "bad group". His bangs being pushed to the side feels like he's saying something I can't pin-point. Is it because his morals are being questioned? Like how he can so easily get to the bad side but also be with the good guys? I don't know.
OH MY LORD! LONG ASS POST! I'M SORRY, GOODBYE!
Am I about to do something that has already been done 100 times? Yes.
Let's go!

This. How many of us have gone crazy trying to analyze it? Yeah. I won't analyze the whole thing or else this post will be big as freak.
I want to focus on something particular.

These lovely cards. And the green light particles, or presumably light snow, Tanizaki's ability.
I have seen people say that Tanizaki and Atsushi will help Dazai somehow with the whole prison thing?? Which, doesn't make sense because both of them are in Yokohama.
Whatever Atsushi's and Tanizaki's job are, it's going to have to do with the Yokohama POV. Meaning, whatever card Fyodor is holding is most likely NOT Chuuya. Heck, Chuuya is already represented in the cover.

Here. That's Chuuya's representation in the cover with the Sheep's skull emblem, the red camellias and even the little crack. So the card, is not Chuuya. I'll gladly be proven wrong, though.
Back to what I was saying, Atsushi, Tanizaki and the card person will probably have nothing to do with the prison but will play a big role with the events in Yokohama. So, who is in the card Fyodor is holding? I don't know. I can sit and look at it zoomed and still not know, I just think I see a suit? Don't quote me on it.
I have a weird thought, Teruko Εkura in chapter 99 asked Atsushi to meet Ranpo, so maybe, Tanizaki will create an illusion, just in case. The card that Fyodor is holding can very well be her but I'm not sure. Look, with the page having the rule "police won't believe ADA" and just because Tachihara broke out of it, means nothing since Tachihara was also in the Mafia, the Mafia isn't police and so, he accepted that part of him and it helped him see the truth.
"What about Saigiku JΕno?"
He was literally shown the truth about it, not the full one but it doesn't take a lot to figure it out. "Fukuchi is the bad guy, not the ADA." or something along those lines. He would be considered, faithfully blind if he couldn't see the situation for what it was, even if the page influences them.
That's it. I babbled, nobody cares, I'll leave you all be. Bye.
βΌοΈ336 SPOILERSβΌοΈ
Last week, learning who the traitor is: Huh... okay, I'm kind of surprised, but not really bc it felt obvious.
My brain a few days ago: But like, imagine if it was Aoyama, we have some type of emotional attachment to him, it would hurt more but nah, he's friends with Izuku, they became friends.. BUT IMAGINE!
Today's leaks: oh...
So, I decided before I talk, analyze, theorize and just go crazy about old manga chapters of Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun, I'll just share my favourite panels bc I kind of need more time π, part 1? It's not even a question, they'll be more parts.
Start!

Don't question why I love it.

Pretty Yashiro. π

I... I don't know, upside-down Hanako is cute.

First step to falling in love. I mean--

Pretty Yashiro, again.

Creepy Hanako my beloved. I mean-- I have issues.

Why does this look more badass than the anime?

We all know this scene, still love the panel.

I can hear this panel... π

Hot teacher... can I say that? π
And reached the limit... You can ignore me. Just sharing my love. I will not spam. And quality is wonky, can't do something. Bye. ππ»ββοΈπ¨
Favorite Panels! Part 4!
Start!

"Amane, Amane!" π

No.3 of the Seven Mysteries

Please, he was worried but also... did nobody notice some type of movement??

Jealous Hanako alert!! π

I will die.

I'm dead... WHY IS THIS SO CUTE?!

Look at hiiiiim. π₯Ί

I wouldn't believe Hanako was real either Yashiro... π₯²

Pretty boy. π₯Ί

And last panel is Yashiro and Kou running towards each other, finally seeing a familiar face that knows something is wrong, with Amane and Mitsuba in the background. π
Done! There goes the limit again! I feel bc of that, there'll be a lot of parts of this. Oh, God. Next post, next arc... OH, GOD!
Bye! ππ»ββοΈπ¨
