in my opinion, they would be the type not to dilly-dally 

they have a pURPOSE there and it is to get that item (or items, depending) 

juyeon would have 9/10 memorized the layout don’t ask me why it’s just a gut feeling 

|| juyeon ||  “just the shower rack?”  “oh! and juyeon, if there’s a sale for foldable boxes then let’s get those too!”  “if my baby says so~” (he could totally make this a date if he wanted to) 

|| hyunjae ||  “i think that’s everything we need. see? i’ve ticked it off this list. aren’t I reliable?” *is absolutely holding his phone up in pride*  “my hyunjae is the best!” (this meticulous boy >< he’d would check through everything for you)

|| sangyeon ||  “sangyeon, why do we have this storage unit? I don’t remember placing this into our cart...”  “oh, because lately you’ve been bringing stuff home from your workplace and i thought it would be a good place to store your file folders. then when you don’t need it we can use it for other things!” (bless this thoughtful boy)

i have a hunch they would get distracted halfway (yes surprisingly jacob: househusband vibes are immaculate and bursting through the roof)

when they finally leave, they’d then realize that they didn’t get their required item and would most definitely return another day 

|| changmin || “I’M GETTING THIS PLUSHIE!!” “changmin, i literally do not have space to lie on your bed anymore.” “but it’s a shark :<” (changmin is practically begging to have another by throwing in tons of promises)

|| jacob || “i think we could use a new sofa...”  “jacob, are you sure you’re saying that not because you think the latest designs are minimalistic?” “w-what?” (he is already formulating a way to get past you and your mind games, just so he could purchase that sofa)

↬ is playing in the showrooms: sunwoo, eric, kevin

bonus if it’s all three of them together in one showroom: their energy is unmatched and uNHINGED

|| eric || “oh my gods, this bed is so soft! we should get this bedsheet.” “eric i don’t think you’re meant to lie--” “no scratch that let’s take this entire bed with us!” (he’s basically the adult with a kid trapped inside: he’s gotta touch every single thing, lie on every single thing)

|| sunwoo ||  “hand me the files. we’ve got a case to crack.”  “why do you...sunwoo, you give me second hand embarrassment.” “that one over there seems PERFECT to continue the story of ‘how i became a chef’! let’s go!”  (you’d have to drag this tall men OUT of the showroom before some kid starts crying at the threatening faces he’s making)

|| kevin || “hey darling could you pass me the wine glasses? it’s a perfect night to celebrate my promotion!”  “...we’re not doing this, i beg you--”  “what type of wine do you prefer? red or white?” (he finds it funny that on-lookers are just watching you, with your hands over your embarrassed face)

while it might not be their sole purpose of visiting, they’d have to make the opportunity to at least eat there because come on who would want to miss out?

|| younghoon || “also younghoon, this is really TMI but i just saw that ikea is having a promotion for the salmon fillet and...why did we get off at this exit?” “you said ikea and promotion. we’re heading there.” “?? but ???” (younghoon would drop whatever he has for the food,, odd i know but its his little addiction)

a/n: i don’t experience the full spectrum, but i relate the most to being overstimulated by touch & light (e.g. when wearing wrong socks, sleeping with certain bed linen, having the lights too bright etc) ,, i am not very knowledgeable on the FULL extent of sensory overload so if you’re curious you can always search it up !

↳ chan + sound 

chan had always thought you were a little on the antisocial side at first: your headphones were always on you and you never really seemed to like being in groups of more than 2-3 people

until he found out: you weren’t actually playing any music in your headphones—it was there for a buffer—because it could get loud at times and you were really uncomfortable with that much noise bombarding your senses 

since then he’d be absolutely gentle around you ,, while he’s an ENFP by nature he’d make sure to tone it down around you

would ask you what you had done previously in similar situations so that he could do the same, if not better for you

has curated a music playlist just for you 

↳ minho + light

minho had always assumed you were clingy by nature ,, somehow grabbing onto him whilst he leads you around 

until one day when the sun was simply high up in the sky and you had begged him to cancel the date to the beach with tears in your eyes

was actually scared like ?? what did he do ?? + when you had finally revealed to him about your sensory overload it clicked: all the times you squinted in the sun and thus holding onto him because it was THAT hard to see, having many pairs of sunglasses (poor boy thought it was accessories) 

from then he’d make sure that he would hold you tight especially in bright areas + it’s a good way to have dates in the late evening  

has an extra pair of sunglasses/ plenty of hats for you (and he thinks you rock them too)

↳ changbin + touch/ feel

changbin occasionally teases you for having shirts of similar/ same texture and you joke along with him (or anyone else) 

when changbin had given you a new shirt and petulantly wanted you to wear it, you were torn between keeping your current top on, or finding an excuse because you hated anything else that wasn’t that specific texture

but you had went with wearing his gift—changbin then noticed how uncomfortable you were: constantly rubbing your upper arms, adjusting the shirt 

you finally had enough of the shirt and had bashfully told him that the gift was nice but you didn’t want it + cue you explaining to a confused changbin why

has gotten your favourite brands/ of similar texture to match you (and so he could see you wear HIS clothing)

↳ jisung + sound

jisung might notice you flinching at very sudden and loud noises but didn’t think too much about it

until there were some mini sparkler-fireworks being set off nearby the two of you that caused you to jump (quite literally) into his lap while you two were out on a date

like minho he was worried like: did it actually scare you this much but would cover your ears, whispering sweet nothings into your ear (okay if you had a smaller frame GOOD because his beautiful body would shield you from anything)

had to clarify if it was a phobia or something else and when you had explained he would do thorough research + learn to take in your social cues when you had wanted out in certain situations

had purchased a good quality headphone set just for you

↳ hyunjin + touch 

(i feel like) hyunjin has an inkling that you were not letting on, but won’t push: in a way he knows that you hadn’t like people touching you

but when he finally saw (someone had lightly brushed past you and you ticked, gripping onto him for dear life) for himself, he blurted out the question that has been weighing heavily on his mind  

you had tried your best to explained what it was to you: deep, firm pressure was okay, but brief touches that left residual sensations were a big no-no for you 

you had also thanked him for asking (now it’s hyunjin’s turn to blush) and for being understanding [but you see even if you two didn’t hold hands, hyunjin would appreciate you for who you were, pda or not]

had now made it a point to ask you for permission before giving you big bear hugs

↳ felix + light

i think straight-up from when felix visited your house, he’d have seen that it was dim, yet bright enough just so you can still see what’s around you 

just as he was about to switch on the light you had vehemently stopped him, felix would just go “isn’t it a little dark, that isn’t good for your eyes” 

in the end you’d compromise with a small glow lamp, which was effectively affecting you either ways as you revealed about how having too much light elicited a counter productive fight-flight-freeze reflex 

but what felix was caught unaware of was that for him you were willing just to leave a few more lamps on (for this bright sunshine i think i would try my best to tolerate until i can’t) 

he’d make it clear that if you were uncomfortable he could switch of the lamps too + made sure to observe you for cues if you were about to breakdown 

has littered your room with glow lamps/ dim fairy lights so that whenever he could hang out with you it would still be just as romantic/ cuddly (wtfosdkfsd i want a felix too)

↳ seungmin + sound (as a seungmin stan, i would love for him to hold me-)

seungmin (as your desk partner: let’s imagine that) was gentle by nature, so talking to him wasn’t half that bad; but on days classmates hovered round your table, seungmin would realize that you’d excuse yourself hurriedly, earbuds in your hands as you exit the classroom 

he had a (sadly wrong) hunch that you didn’t like crowds; then fast forward to your graduation, seungmin was by you when a huge hoard of classmates congratulated you for doing the highest in class (oh how i wish) that you started getting panicky, eyes darting everywhere while giving half-hearted replies 

you had dashed out mid-question and seungmin ran out after you, finding you hidden in the utility room far away from the graduating classes: he had no idea what to do other than to hold you and shield you from any curious by-lookers 

when he had asked what’s wrong, you had told him in tears about your sensory overload and how the noise from everyone had rubbed off you the wrong way and you didn’t want to breakdown in front of them

(i love seungmin, sorry not sorry~) would take note of this + is the perfect excuse for dates in the library or museum 

↳ jeongin + touch 

while jeongin had a habit of touching everything he sees, you were the opposite: opting to keep your hands to yourself, or in a pocket 

i think it would catch baby jeongin by surprise when you had touched his bed linen (the first time you slept over) and visibly recoiled, as if you had touched something burning 

“is there something wrong with my bedsheet...?” “it’s...the wrong feel...”

would be an absolute sweetheart and sleep on the floor with you if he couldn’t find a spare bedsheet (with the right texture)

in the dark, you told him about what your likes and dislikes when it came to textures and thank heavens jeongin was curious rather than put off and had agreed with you on some cloth feel 

has now become aware of what he buys (or even gets the brands you like) so he could hug/ hold you without making you anxious because of the feel

a/n: happy chinese new year ! i managed to churn thus out whilst being out and about and WHEN i tell you i could not put this down until i was done, i meant it hehe,, was a fun work to write !!

part 1 || part 2 

“hey, could you get san to help give extra coaching to the year 1s in our club?” wooyoung clasped his hands together as you raised an eyebrow. 

“why don’t you ask him yourself? i’m just the taekwondo club’s manager.” 

the other 2 Year 2s, yeosang and yunho hovered around you, adding onto the intangible stress. yeosang hurriedly moved the sheets of paper beside you on the bench, sitting down, “hongjoong and seonghwa are studying for finals, mingi’s injured. that leaves us with san as our ace.”

“you know he won’t say yes.” you repeated and crossed your arms. “he won’t say yes, unless it’s you.” yunho dramatically placed his hands on your shoulders. 

“me?” 

“well, for one, have you seen him reject anything if it’s you?” you thought about it, then shook your head.

“EXACTLY. we are all desperate to win first in the Kingdom Championships! everyone should work doubly hard under the guidance of our ace!” wooyoung was practically begging at this point. 

you relented, “i’ll try. but if he says no, it’s up to the rest of you.”

you ran your fingers along the straps of your backpack, trying to formulate a way to best relay what the 3 of them had told you earlier. 

“you’re making that funny face. say it.” san rolled his eyes, and you jumped at his voice.  

“well…uhm…you see the championships are around the corner…and i was wondering if we could have you carry out extra coaching lessons for the year 1s...?”

you glanced up warily at san, who was staring into the distance. 

“so...did wooyoung tell you to tell me this?” 

you paled, trying your best to cover for your friend, “no...! i was just…looking at the calendar and thought our year 1s could get that extra practice...it’s fine if you don’t want to…”

“...i’ll do it. but i only do thursday afternoons.” You lit up at the prospect (not noting the way San’s grumpy face morphed into a somewhat happier one), “really? you’re the best choi san!” you lightly hugged a stiff san in your arms, before excitedly skipping ahead. san huffed before making one more request.

“you better be present for all the extra sessions! i’m not managing them alone!”

“wait, how did you three know he won’t reject me?” you stared at the 3 year 2s before you. 

“what do you mean “reject you”?” yunho pinched the bridge of his nose, mock-disappointment shown across his face. 

“we thought you already knew!” wooyoung hid his surprised gasp behind his hands at a very clueless you.

“knew about what? tell me!” you shook your head, nudging wooyoung’s shoulder with your hand. 

in hindsight, the 4 of you totally looked like a bunch of giggling, gossiping girls, just sitting by the bleachers and leaning in. wooyoung, yunho and yeosang were squished beside you on the wooden bench, talking in hushed tones whilst glancing left and right. 

“i can’t believe you’re so dense. he’d literally do anything you say. ANYTHING.” yeosang emphasized, holding his hands up. 

“but we’re just friends…?” 

“JUST FRIENDS? no way you’re saying that. he’s whipped for you! i think he even likes you!” wooyoung animatedly nodded his head, gushing at the prospect.

“WHAT?!”

it started with a drink. you had to start somewhere, right? all for testing the theory, right?

“earth to dimwit?” san lightly knocked your forehead and you made a face, hands coming up to cover yourself. “sorry. actually…san…could i have a sip of that?” you pointed at the icy cold peach soda in his hands, slowly realizing how thirsty you were from the sweltering heat.

“AH! i mean if you still have some left, not that i want to drink it…it looks delicious and—” san shoved the beverage in your floundering hands, effectively stopping your blabbering, “take it, dummy. you can have the rest.” you gratefully took a sip, relishing the cool fizzy feeling amidst the unbearable summer weather.

“thanks, San. mm! i love this flavor by the way.” [san had absolutely taken note of that, despite the stoic expression he had put on.] 

“hurry up. the sun is setting, so let’s go home.”

20 seconds

the first time you two really hug-hugged was back in college. that was also the first moment something sparked in jaehyun. fleeting side-hugs didn’t count, for that hug lasted 20 seconds. nothing more, nothing less. 

you two were clad in the school’s uniform, seated anxiously in your respective seats. the teachers voice droned on, something about motivations and passions and dreams, but all jaehyun could focus on was you. his best friend. his crush. 

when you two had finally collected your results, jaehyun made a beeline towards you, pulling you out of the cacophony of the class’ mixed reactions. your hands were shaking and jaehyun held them. 

“i...” 

“want a hug?” jaehyun offered and you hesitantly nodded, shuffling into his embrace. that hug felt good. jaehyun felt you sigh into his embrace. nineteen...twenty.

you naturally pulled apart from him, a small smile on your face. 

“did you do...okay?” he searched your face for any signs of bad news. his results was pretty good, enough to get him to university if he wanted. 

“i did. better than okay actually. i was so scared out of my mind.”

you showed him your result slip and he grinned, “i knew you could do it.” 

“thank you for the hug. i was just reeling from the shock.” you explained and jaehyun softly laughed, “i’m just glad we’re both okay.”

jaehyun looked up from his laptop.

another knock at his window.

he really wasn’t hearing things. removing his earpieces, he pushed his chair back and padded over. 

there you were, waving back at him. you had somehow managed to crouch by the small ledge outside his window. hurriedly opening his windows, he ushered you in, trying and failing to stiffle his excitement. 

“what are you doing here? are you crazy?” jaehyun grabbed a hoodie off his chair and pulled it over you, noting how you were only in a simple tee and jogger pants.

“hey, give me some credit for making it to your house in one piece.” you lightly punched his shoulders. “you could have just came in from the front door!” jaehyun commented as closed the windows behind you. 

“that would be so awkward: you’re parents are literally hosting some reunion party downstairs! can you imagine the faces if i came through the front door?” 

jaehyun could imagine it. 

he wiped that image off his mind, a smirk creeping up on his face, “yeah that would have been quite the shock. i still can’t believe it.” 

“well, i’m here now.” you opened your arms, as if presenting yourself to him. he took a step towards you, “gosh, i’ve missed you so much.” 

crushing you in a big bear hug, you two swayed back and forth, in your own little bubble. time seemed to waft around the two of you, as jaehyun took in you in this very mundane moment. “i’m assuming you’ve told your parents before leaving the house?” 

“i told them it was a sleepover, so come on! let’s watch something!”

“jaehyun, can...can you sit here?” you patted the empty space between your legs and jaehyun cocked his head to one side, “can i even fit?” 

“well, we can make it work?” somehow you two made it work: with jaehyun seated in front of you, he managed to tuck himself into your hold, save for his legs which were straddled around your waist.

he lay his head on your shoulder, mimicking that of a koala. 

it usually was the opposite, with you fitting perfectly into his bigger frame. the last time jaehyun was held was when his mother rocked him to sleep. you were carding your hands through his hair and he melted into your touch. he certainly could get used to this. it was after a brief period of silence that you spoke up. 

“is it comfortable?” you mumbled and he nodded, “yeah.”

he could hear how fast your heart was beating, but decided not to bring it up. “i know you must be wondering why...why i asked you to...do this?”

you sounded so small to jaehyun, but because of his position he could only keep his head by your shoulder. 

“your heart’s beating really quickly.” he blurted out. “ah yeah. about that...i don’t know either. i’ve been feeling super anxious over nothing lately. i just wanted to...take some time to hug you. hold you.” you rambled, hand actions never once ceasing.

you needed something to ground you, he realized. 

“we should do this more often. not that I dislike what we normally do, but this is a nice change of pace.” jaehyun chuckled. 

“this is fine with you?" cute. 

“of course.”
