I’m not here to teach (or educate) anything to anyone but only as a reminder about the benefits of nature which, has its own limits. Wilderness cleans our air, filters our water and provides home for human as well as for wildlife. Pileated woodpeckers eat mainly insects, especially carpenter ants and wood-boring beetle larvae. They also eat fruits, nuts, and many berries including the, Poison Ivy berries. Which is quite amazing.
These birds chip out large and roughly rectangular holes in trees while searching out insects, especially ant colonies.

So far, this is the second biggest Northern Raven feather found from the latest excursion. Even with my eyes wide shut, just by the smell, I can guest it is one. Definitely going right away in my collection.

Hares/Jackrabbits
A drove of Jackrabbits have been snooping/playing around the house last night. This is some of their foot tracks which are going back deep into the woods.
Hope to see them again so I can have the chance to get some pictures of these Jackrabbits.
