Another small natural undisturbed lake found, surrounded by mountains. It is very peaceful, quiet and so energizing that I could stay around here all afternoon.
Pumped up the volume a bit higher and just listen. Absolutely nothing, no noise at all.
Wolverines?
Many babies Wolverines have been seen in the Grand Valley of Chertsey this season. They are cute but extremely dangerous and powerful. Any kids or small pets, cats or dogs, shouldn't be left outside unattended.
This is the perfect kind of space used from them to built a nice comfy home. Especially with that strong smell of wild animal surfing around here, I wouldn't be surprise to see one of them.
Ok now, who will go first and have a look so we can be sure?

Pileated woodpeckers eat mainly insects, especially carpenter ants and wood-boring beetle larvae. They also eat fruits, nuts, and many berries including the, Poison Ivy berries. Which is quite amazing.
These birds chip out large and roughly rectangular holes in trees while searching out insects, especially ant colonies.

Another visit from a Red Fox who's probably looking for a little Red Squirrel to chase. We've seen three of these Squirrels around the house, eating sunflower seeds for birds the entire morning.

A young Northern Flicker has begun clinging the cavity wall of the family nest and probably is about to take is first flight.

This is the sound that we hear in the valley when the Raven Family, 6 members, finds some meat for lunch.
The original video is bigger, longer and with higher quality but due to the restriction of Tumblr, I have to cut most parts and reduced it to the lowest quality which is 540p. Just found a small Garter Snake near the SUV down the hill. These Garter Snakes are common in local habitats around here. This one is like 7 inches and can grow up to 52 inches in length. The saliva is toxic to amphibians and other small animals but not dangerous for humans.
So as they say..., catch and release.
