I need your help!
Does anyone remember having heard before or remember the episode in which Chat Noir had said something along the lines of
"yeah, I wouldn't want to do that anyway"
or
"yeah, I prefer not to do that"
or
"Yeah, I'll leave that up to you"
in regards to Ladybug being the leader/planner of the team? I am sure of heard something like that before but I can't remember where.
Please help, it would be appreciated. Thank you!

You know what, I am gonna say it. Iâm not holding back anymore.
If Adrien is a Sentimonster, his life is worth less than the human charactersâ.
Thatâs not my opinion, thatâs what the show literally tells us with every single episode with a Sentimonster in it.
The show kills Sentimonsters left and right, and the heroes arenât concerned about this at all. The idea of a Sentimonsterâs life being worth protecting has been brought up only because the Sentimonster in question looked just like a person who already existed. And even Sentibug got killed off casually. They got over her death very easily.
It doesnât matter that the characters say Sentimonsters are real people. It doesnât matter if the lore is that theyâre just like real people. It doesnât matter if the audience views the Sentimonsters as real people. The narrative doesnât treat Sentimonsters as real people, because they are killed on-screen casually and constantly.
If Adrien was a Sentimonster, him throwing his life away for Ladybug so thoughtlessly would be the right way for him to behave. Because Sentimonstersâ lives arenât as worthy of being preserved as real peopleâs.
At this point? I'm all for the heroes knowing his identity as Chat Noir before people know Hawkmoth's identity. Because frankly, this secret identity thing puts a very heavy strain on Adrien's mental and emotional faculties.
The only secret identities that matter are Ladybug and Chat Noir's. It's part of their bond. It's between them.
Chat Noir doesn't mind not knowing who are the Temporary Holders. But he sure as hell mind when he learns LB accepts for some other Holders to share their identity between themselves. To him, it seems unfair Alya and Nino could have that while LB and him cannot. Doesn't she trust him as well?
The rule was initially set for LB and CN to better protect their Miraculous. That was back when Fu was still around and it was mostly Ladybug and Chat Noir doing the work.
Now, things have changed.
Now, Ladybug is the Guardian. She has full access to the Miraculous and can get anyone on the spot. Plus, now she heavely relies on Alya/Rena Rouge for support and as a spy without Chat Noir knowing. Sidelining him.
Seriously, the secret identity is just one small part in the whole miscommunication problem their partnership is facing, but revealing themselves won't resolve the initial problem caused by their respective ghost.
When you think about it, at this point in the show, if Marinette discovers Chat Noir and Adrien are the same person, it will probably just feed her trauma about Chat Blanc. She might panic and accidently push Adrien further away in the process.
In case of Adrien, if he doesn't solve his fear of abadonment and if he doesn't understand Marinette's reaction, he will think Marinette hates him and is rejecting him, thus hurting him even more.
Anyway, it is however true the Ladynoir's conflict this season is causing their viewpoint about the secret identity to clash.
Ladybug prefers to respect the secret identity rule. Sure, it is not perfect and complicates some things sometimes for them, but that rule works and she will maintain it. It's safer that way.
On the other hand, Chat Noir is witnessing more and more injustice on his end this season because of that rule. He believed in its necessity at first, but now that he knows it can be bended and broken by others, he is starting the question the point behind it. Is is really for the best that LB and him doesn't know each other identities? Is it still relevant?
But what those two need isn't a reveal. The problem is that they keep avoiding one very important conversation they should have had a long time ago. Ladybug haven't spoke of her experience of that one alternate timeline nor of Rena Rouge's new role inside the team. Chat Noir is not talking about the fact he feels sidelined. They don't bring it up because their respective traumas is haunting them.
That is the root of problem : their trauma, not the secret identity.
I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said âlet me call my husband real quickâ and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `âYou know that was probably a scam, right?â and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If youâre âscammingâ me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money.Â
âA scamâ people are fucking wild. Â
I know people are sad that marinette support system is declining with her barely talk to her parents anymore and it is really saddening, but adrien support system is now nonexistence with nino just throw the secret out of window and it hit me harder because his support system is never been as huge as marinette and he just lost the last person he could potentially tell his secret at.
It really is sad for the both of them yeah..
The thing is, Marinette has all the resources of a good support system: she has good parents, has lots of good friends, has Alya, heck even has Chat Noir. But she choses to not use them or to distance herself from them (except for Alya - for now) because she doesn't think it's safe and is scared of so many things.
Adrien however does not have the resources Marinette has for a good support system. His home life don't offer him this chance (even more so when his family is literally the villains of the show), he has friends but less than Marinette and cannot see them as often at all, he doesn't have anyone knowing his identity and well, we can't really say he has Ladybug these days as she is distancing herself from him just like he's also distancing himself from her the more he doubts.
The difference as well is that Adrien never planned on telling his secret to someone (well, neither did Marinette but she had reached a point where it was impossible for her mentally to do so, except by being the guardian she's giving herself this option, while Chat Noir has been told repeatedly how secrets identities are important and he'd see that as himself betraying Ladybug's trust to do it, so it doesn't even consider it an option).
But yeah if he was to ever consider revealing himself to Nino, it's been kind of discarded for now because... Nino told him that 1. him and Alya had no secrets 2. he told Adrien their heroes identities which might not make him want to entrust Nino with his 3. he basically called Chat Noir annoying to his face... and that makes me very sad because it's a lot of a misunderstanding but it'll have big consequences
So anyway, I'm rambling (as I do lol) but it's hard to compare the two as they're in two very different situations, none of which are very enviable at the moment... and they're both getting more and more isolated
Its so annoying I hate how some do this and go against what has been established in the show and justs makes for confusion. I 100% agree with @chatblancismyfursona on this one.
For anyone confused regarding the cataclysm that hit Adrien;
If Emilie kicked the bucket, he could still surviveâAdrienâs life isnât contingent on hers.
