You Cant - W.m

Summary: one last dance, before you go.

Warnings: none

A/N: there’s a song i listened to while writing this if you want to imagine it playing while they dance.

Everyone had fled to their rooms for the end of their nights as you straightened your thing for your departure.

Earlier that night, you had bid them all a goodbye, except one of them. Wanda never showed.

She had laid in her bed, tears shedding as she listened to you call for her in your head. Wanda knew your health was more important, and that you needed treatment.

Her fatal flaw has always been her subtle selfishness. Now, she decided she had to see you. As you finished packing, she approached you in the large living space. Looking up from your bags, you sigh.

“Hi.”

“Hey.” She moves across the room so fast, you blink and miss her as she grabs your hands. “I want you to stay, please?” She begged. She never begged, that was a you thing. “I can’t.” You smiled.

“You can’t-you can’t just leave me. I know I’m being selfish, but-“

“It’s not selfish to want me to stay, it’s not a bad thing, Wanda.” You kiss her hand, looking back up into her eyes. “It’s human nature, and you’re gonna feel this way when I’m gone.” You explain as she chokes back tears.

“You’ll always be next to me.” You say putting her hand on your heart. “I’m never too far away, ok?” She nods, biting her lip. “I’m not leaving you. Come on, let’s dance, huh?” Wanda fights a small smile on her face, groaning as you twirl her around, connecting your hands as you sway.

“It’s just us, alright?” She nods, laying her head on your chest. You put your chin above her head, kissing the top softly. Dancing in the quiet was a beautiful thing you both shared.

Hopefully this wasn’t your last.

behind shattered glass - n.r

Behind Shattered Glass - N.r

Summary: post civil war/bw after you sided with Tony to protect her and she betrayed you. she decides she needs to see you.

Warning(s): none

You worked as a member of the United Nations on the behalf of the United States. An Avenger ambassador was a very good addition, and you were fit for the job.

Today wasn’t eventful, which was surprising. You were currently standing at your desk, taking a call, your phone to your ear.

“Okay, Tony. Yes, I-Yes, alright. Hang up, Stark. Enjoy retirement, get married! Alright, call me later, bye.” You hang up the call, placing your phone on the desk.

A knock calls your attention to the door. “It’s open.” Your eyes are glued to a small file as you flip through it. “Did Ross send you?” There’s a bit of silence as the figure, you assumed may be a woman because of the heels, shifted on her feet.

“No, but I wanted to introduce myself.” You look up at the woman, taking in her beauty. She was blonde, with black roots, and she had a slender figure. “Uh, I don’t want to assume, but I don’t take autographs if that’s what you’d want me to-“ The woman chuckles as you look back down.

“My name is Natalie Baker.” The name stops you in your tracks. You swiftly look up with wide eyes, a smirk prevalent on the girl’s face. “What did you say your name was?” You asked.

“You heard me.” A gleaming light catches your eye, a familiar ring making your breath hitch.

You canvas the floor to see if anyone was watching you, before moving past her and pressing a button to put down the blinds so no one could see in.

Leaning back on the window facing the office, you smirk laying your head back on the glass. “What’re you doin’ here?” You breathe out.

She approaches you. “I had to see you.” You smile, grabbing her hands and peppering them with kisses. “I missed you.” Nat nods, caressing your face. You take the chance to kiss her palm.

“10 years, and you never changed your tricks.” She leans into kiss you, but you stop her. “Take off the face, it’s weird.” You chuckle as she rips it and the wig off. The two of you share a few minutes of heavy kissing, before pulling away with satisfaction.

“I know you love me, but you can’t be here for my luscious lips.” Nat frowns, pulling you in by your suit jacket. “I need to know where Sam is being held. I got in contact with Steve, he’s been selling Chitauri parts for cash, he’s gonna get caught, and they need my help.” You then frown, hoping she’d say she was only there for you, even if you insisted she wasn’t.

You chuckles, standing up straight on the glass. “He’s uh, somewhere in Berlin, local lockup. Don’t see him as a threat without the gear. I have no clearance to know the exact place, but I’ve heard whispers.” Natasha looks at you thankfully.

“Gear’s on sub level-20. Old SHIELD guys watch over old stuff like that out of nostalgia.” You walked back to your desk, handing her a key card. Natasha’s look of guilt is obvious, but you ignore it. “You were always good to me.” She mutters. You nod, stuffing your hands in your pockets.

“You always got your information from me.” The redhead frowns. “It was never like that.”

“It always was.” You swallow, walking to the switch. “Stay in town, maybe we can grab dinner?” She nods, placing her disguise back on.

You turn off the blinds. “There’s an elevator that goes straight to the sub levels, my card is clearance.” Natasha nods, walking out the door.

“Thank you.” You nod as she walks away.

thinkin about me - maddy perez

Thinkin About Me - Maddy Perez

Summary: the aftermath of maddy’s birthday.

a/n: if you guys want me to make this a series up until next weeks finale, i totally will!

“Please call me back, Maddy. I’m sorry.” She listened to your five messages all day. There was plenty of times where she was tempted to call you, but she decided against it.

“Are you ok?” Cassie asks as Maddy lies back in her bed. “No.”

“Well, what happened?”

“We had this fucking fight because I didn’t say anything about inviting Nate, which is totally stupid.”

”Yeah, kinda.” Cassie chuckles. “Should I apologize?” Maddy wonders. “Probably.”

———

Later that week, you stopped calling and avoided her at all costs. When she wasn’t watching you avoid her, she was wondering why she never just said what she thought.

That night at the party, Maddy made her decision. She wanted to blame you for being brash and rude to her, but it was her fault. So she wanted to tell you.

She liked to actively avoid the library, but you spent your free period, stacking returned books for whatever reason. So she watched as you walked down certain aisles through the glass windows.

Entering the library, she walks down the aisles until she spots you placing a book on a shelf. She storms down the aisle, grabbing you and smashing you into a shelf. “Woah! Hello to you, too.” You looked at her shocked.

“I’m sorry about not telling you about Nate.”

“Uh…”

“Don’t say “uh.” like I’m fucking stupid, I know you’re avoiding me.” You gulp as she places her hands beside her.

“Look…we don’t have to date or anything, but I just want you to know that I really fucking love you, ok? I could give a shit about Nate and whatever girl he’s probably fucking now.”

“I don’t think she’d be hotter than you.” Maddy smiles as there’s a pause. “You asked me what I want? I want you. ” You smile as she looks in your eyes intently. “That’s what I want.” A smile graces your lips as she grabs your hands. “I love you, and I mean it.”

“I love you, too.” Maddy smiles, kissing you on the lips. “Ok, um…I’m going over Cassie’s tonight. Kat’s gonna be there. We’re gonna watch movies if you want to come?” You nod, making her laugh as she engulfs you in a hug. “Ok! Alright! Calm down.” She squeals as she sets herself down on her feet.

“Ok, I’m sorry.” She pecks you on the lips, before she moves out of the aisle and into the school hallway.

———

“Wow, so you guys are like actually dating?” Kat asks.

“No.” “Yeah.” Your head turns to Maddy. “You said-“

“You’re so fucking dumb, I just wanted you to think about it, of course we’re dating.”

“Oh. Ok then, yeah we’re totally dating now.”

Cassie smiles. “I think it’s adorable, you guys will be really cute together.” Maddy mutters a thank you.

“Yeah, no more Nate.” Kat says. “Thank God for that.”

———

You’d gotten halfway through the movie when Cassie muttered something. “I think Rue’s here.” Kat and Maddy excitedly jump from the couch, walking up to the living room. “Hey, Rue Rue!” Maddy greets, hugging Rue.

You stood up after Cassie went up. “Wassup, Rue.” You greeted, nodding over at her, to which you receive. Waking past the group, you walk into the kitchen to grab a drink from the fridge. When you got back you noticed Rue’s mom there, and were confused as you sat next to Lexi.

“What’s going on?”

“Intervention.”

“Oh.” You nod, sitting back as you sip your drink. You couldn’t catch what Cassie was saying, but then Rue spoke up. “Hey, Cass?”

“Yeah?”

“How long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs?” You choke on your drink, Lexi nervously patting your back. Maddy got very upset, which even though she didn’t love Nate, was very reasonable and understandable. At least to you. “Rue! When was this?!”

“Right after New Years.” Maddy sighs, turning back to Cassie. “You dumb…fucking…bitch! I’m gonna fuck you up!” Maddy, Kat and Lexi run up the stairs as Rue runs out the door. “Uh…Ms. Bennett?” Leslie looks over at you.

“I think Rue just ran out the door.”

———

When you entered the Howard sister’s room, you watched Maddy banging on the bathroom door. “Open the fucking door!”

“This isn’t about Nate. This is about you and me, and our friendship, and if wanna throw it away than fine. Because I don’t want to be fucking friends with you.” She rattled the door some more as you step up the stairs. As you approach, she begins to cry more.

“I’m sick of it, he put me through hell, and now he’s fucking my best friend? Like. what the FUCK?!”

“Babe, come on, she’s not worth it.”

“When is it gonna end?! Open the fucking door!”

“She’s not gonna open the door, Maddy. Come on let’s go.” Kat mutters.

“Open the door!” After a few seconds, Maddy finally gives up, storming out of the room. Kat walks away after her, but you stay near the door. “You have fun fucking a man who tried to kill your best friend, Cass. Hope it’s worth it.”

———

The ride home was quiet.

Maddy didn’t want to speak, and you didn’t make her.

“Don’t you want me to stay over?” You ask. She nods curtly. “Are you ok?” That’s when she started to cry.

“I just want to kill them both.”

“That’s understandable.”

“When this is all over, what are we gonna do?”

“I hear Sicily is beautiful in the summer. The landmarks are to die for.” You say in a voice that makes Maddy sniffle as she giggles. “You mean that?”

“Hell, yeah! I’m gonna be your sugar mama. Plus, it’s only a few more months, I don’t think it could get any worse.” You couldn’t have known that it was far from true for Maddy, but that wasn’t what you were worried about now.

“Yeah. I don’t think it can get worse.”

“Exactly! Wanna make out?” Maddy giggles, sniffling.

“Yeah, let’s get home first.”

about time - maddy perez

image

pairing: maddy perez x fem!reader, past!jules vaughn x reader

a/n: maddy is maybe ooc🤷🏽‍♀️ honestly with her seeming more vulnerable in some scenes i’d say it isn’t, but formulate ur own opinion

It was a New Year, so you wanted to celebrate.

The smell of weed, and watching people drink made you want to throw up. It wasn’t because you hated it, but because you just felt sick. The sugary drinks were much more satisfying than the thoughts of drinking bitter beer.

You sat on the large couch, drinking some juice when you spotted her. Maddy walks in with Kat and Jules. She seemed excited for the festivities and ready to party. Her eyes spotted you, and they darkened.

She whispered something in Kat’s ear, never taking her eyes off of you. “I’ll be right back!” Kat nods, walking away with Jules to look for Ethan.

You straighten up when you see her walk towards you. You stand up on your feet, adjusting your hoodie. “I thought you hated parties!” She says as she approaches. “I do, but uh...I just wanted to say happy new year, I’m probably gonna go home, it’s really loud.” Maddy’s eyebrows raise as you ramble.

“Why? You said you were waiting for me, so wait.” You eyebrows furrowed. “What? I-I just wanted to-“ Before you can continue, she grabs your hand, pulling you towards the kitchen space.

When you enter a small space where no one is standing, you watches as she grabs a pair of cups. She pours brown liquor into both cups, and your eyes widen at how much she pours in the one she eventually hands to you.

“Loosen up!” She hits your cup with hers, and you don’t move, watching her guzzle hers with ease. “I don’t drink, Maddy.” She rolls her eyes, putting her hands on your shoulders. “If you drink it, I will let you dance with me tonight.” You stop your thoughts, wondering if Maddy was serious. She looked very serious.

Maddy knew about your crush on her, but you didn’t know she did. This worked to her advantage in a way, because you would do anything for her. This led you to sigh, tossing back the cup, and swallowing most of the drink. “YES! Alright, come on.” She grabs your hand once more, taking you to the living room where everyone had been dancing.

You couldn’t tell what song was on, but you’d begun to relax. Maddy started to dance on you, and you on her. Maybe all it took was a drink to loosen you up. After what seemed like 15 minutes of you both grinding on one another, she turned around to face you. “I have to pee, I’ll be right back, okay?” You nod, watching her go.

Your eyes follow her body as she sways away. You jump as you feel a pair of hands on your shoulder. “Can you guys fuck so you can stop being miserable?” You smirk at the voice as Jules lays her head on your shoulder.

“Step one? Run over Nate Jacobs with my Impala.” Jules smiles, turning you around into a hug. “That is a solid plan.” She mutters into your shoulder. “Happy new year, Jules.”

“Happy new year.” A small cough takes you guys out of the comfortable silence in this much quieter spot. “Are you guys-“ Kat motions between you, and you chuckle. “Oh, no. That’s-Jules chose Rue, right?” Jules’ eyes widen as she nods along.

“She dumped her and left her at the train station.” Kat says bluntly, and Jules sighs. “Oh? I thought you just disappeared. You can be really dramatic when you want to be.”

“Wow, thank you, Y/N.” After a few seconds of waiting, you’d seen Maddy hadn’t come back yet. “Hey, I’ll be back in a sec.” You softly pat Jules’ shoulder before walking over to the only bathroom you’d seen downstairs.

As you walked towards the narrow hall, your face scrunches as Nate Jacobs storms down the hallway, glare distant as he squeezes past you. You stop in your tracks, watching him walk towards where McKay stood, and back to the restroom.

A young man stood by the door, a blunt in his hand. “Hey, are you tryna use the bathroom?” You ask to which he nods. “Yeah, man.” You nod, standing on the opposite wall. “You know there’s like…three bathrooms upstairs, right?” The guy hums.

“I know, but the girl in the restroom is hot, and I kinda wanna kiss her now.” You chuckle. “Same. Y/N.” You hold your hand, and he shakes it. “Travis.”

“You mind if I cut?”

“Nah, man, do you.”

You step up to the door, knocking on the door. “Hold on, give me a second! Jesus.” The door opens, and Maddy seems taken aback as she looks between you and Travis. She sees your awkward smile, before dragging you in, and shutting the door behind you.

“God, I thought you were hot before…” Your eyes widen. “What?”

“Ignore me, I drank before I got here. You just look really good tonight.”

“Thanks?” Maddy pops herself up onto the sink counter, eyeing you as if she WANTED to seduce you. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Like what?”

“You keep looking at my lips like you wanna kiss me.” You hadn’t thought she noticed your eyes lingering. “I-I don’t, I think I’m already tipsy.” Maddy smirks, biting her lip as you nervously shift on your feet. “Are you like…in love with me or something?” You gulp nervously.

You wanted to retort, until a buzz from behind the bathtub tarp averts your attention. Opening it, you notice a blonde girl passed out in the tub. “Uh…I think someone passed out in here.” You look back at Maddy, who rolls her eyes as she jumps from the counter.

“Who cares, I wanna dance.” She opens the door. “Uh…” She grabs your hand, pulling you out with her.

She dragged you back down the hallway, and onto the dance floor, eyeing Nate as she walked by. You knew this was to make him jealous, which was sad, but at least you were helping Maddy? You had to think that way otherwise you’d throw up.

Eventually Maddy leaves you to talk to Cassie, who had a weirdly similar dress to the girl in the restroom. The raven haired girl dragged Cassie over, and the blonde smiles at the sight. “Hey, Y/N.” You give her a tight lipped smile and nod. “Hi, Cass.”

The rest of the night is fine, everyone cheers happy new year as the time dwindles. You stood near the small bar, glaring at the back on Nate’s head as he drank. He turns around, looking at you.

“What’s up, Y/N?” You give him a feigned smile, before looking down at your cup. “I thought you were uh…” He looks down at your drink. “Straight edge.” He chuckles. “If you mean abstinence? Yes.”

“Weren’t you like…addicted to Ibuprofen.” You shake your head. “No.” You’re thankfully saved when Fez approaches. You tune out their small conversation until Nate speaks again. “Last time I saw you, didn’t you want to kill me?” Nate smiles darkly. “It’s a new year, playboy.” The two we’re about to clink cups, when Fez bashes Nate in the head with a bottle of alcohol, before beating the shot out of him.

Cassie and Mckay were attempting to get him off, and failing for the most part. When Fez finally relents, you let a small chuckle. “Happy new years to me.” Everyone looks to check up on him, and you walk around to help. “We can take my car to the hospital.” You suggest. “It’s alright, Y/NN, I got it.” McKay responds to you.

You look over to Maddy. “I’ll call you later?” Maddy nods as they carry his body to Mckay’s car.

————

You’d forgotten to call before you knocked out, so when Maddy had called for the 24th time, you finally woke up.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I fell asleep, I’m sorry.” There was a silence on the other side of the line. “Maddy?”

“Can I come over?”

“Yeah, totally. My mom’s not here, so I could wait for you?”

“…Ok.” she hangs up the phone, leaving you confused. You carefully tread downstairs, waiting for a knock that eventually comes. You open the door to Maddy still in her clothes from the party. Her eyes are red, but her makeup isn’t smudged.

“I’m sorry I came so early in the morning.” She sounded genuine and little. “No, no, you’re fine, Maddy.” You let her in, and she walk towards your kitchen, sitting in a stool. “You want anything?” She nods. “Juice?” She nods again as you go through the fridge.

“Can I ask you something?” You hum. “Do you think I deserve better than Nate?” You abruptly stop, hitting your head on the fridge ceiling. You turn to Maddy with a look of disbelief.

“You can’t be serious, Maddy.”

“I’m not a good person.”

“No one is.”

“You are.” You place the jug of orange juice on the counter, staring at her as if she had had three heads. “You’re always good to me. I never return it.”

“I don’t want you to.”

“I love you, Y/N. Like I love Nate.”

“That wasn’t love it was blind devotion. He puts his hands on you.” She assumed you hadn’t heard what she said. “I love you, Y/N.” In your head, you assumed that she has first said it in some kind of friendly way, but now you were convinced it wasn’t.

“The last tender moment I had…was when…you remember when Nate kicked out me out of his car, and you took me to the diner and we just ate, and drank milkshakes. It felt cheesy, but I loved it.” You were now smiling as she stood. “I know you like me, but I like you too, love you too.” You can’t resist it as you move around the kitchen island, and slam your lips together.

Maddy backs away for breath. “About fuckin’ time.”

i missed you - w.m

image

Summary: a small continuation of i don’t need you where you find your way to each other.

Warnings: none

Wanda had an exhibit to run. A young artist had begged for her pieces to be shown, and Wanda loved the pieces.

So she stood at the front, while the show gravitated towards the back. She said it was to let the artist explain their work and have their space, but it was really to eat the food from the caterers.

A small meal before going home to her house empty and quiet, wouldn’t hurt. The thought of leaving early and letting her artist close was creeping in her mind. Then came the jingle of the door.

Wanda didn’t turn around completely, only the silhouette of a tall person with a cane came into view. “After all these years, you still don’t want to look at me?” That voice, still sounded like silk. Wanda almost thought it wasn’t real.

Her back was still facing you, a small smile gracing your aged features. It hadn’t been too long, at least to her, but you were a lot more mature and older looking than you once were.  She turns, a gasp escapes her lips as she takes you in.

She’d made a mistake assuming you had a cane, when it was a simple forearm crutch. You had dark circles around your eyes, a new scar trailing down the side of your face. “Hey, stranger.” You said, pulling her out of her daze.

“H-Hi.” She whispers. You limp closer with a slower pace. “Look, I know you never wanted to see me again, but I actually know Felicia’s dad, so...” Wanda is sad that you thought she hadn’t wanted to see you again. “No! No, I don’t-I’m not a dictator, Y/N, you can go wherever you like.” You nod your head, walking over to the plates of meatballs.

“You still have good taste.” You say, putting some meatballs on a plate. “Thanks.” She blushes. She watches you as you’ve turned away from her, noticing another scar trailing down from your ear and around the middle of your neck.

“Y/N.” You look up, humming as you turn around. “Your sister...I talked to her a while ago and she said you’d gotten in a bad accident, but I never asked what happened.” I didn’t care.

“Oh, uh. Can we talk in a less private space?” You chuckle. Wanda quickly nods, leading you into her small office. You limp slowly behind her, taking her in. She opens the door, letting you into her small office. You look around in awe, your eyes dawning on one of her familiar drawings that you painted.

“You kept it?” You blurted out. She looks over to where your gaze went, a smile gracing her features. “Yeah, when my parents sold the house, it was the only one from my canvas that I could salvage.” She says with a sense of love and nostalgia.

“That’s awesome.” You smile. You turn to her face, a comfortable silence falling between you in your gaze. You shake your head, clearing your throat as you sit in a chair.

“Do you really want me to tell you what happened?” She nods, a sad look on her face. “I just-I want you to know that I knew, and I never called or checked in on you, and I’m so sorry.” She says with a somewhat desperate plea.

“It’s okay. Uh...when you left, I kinda became friends with Bucky.” Wanda’s eyebrows raise in shock. “Yeah, yeah, you didn’t want either of us, so we had common ground.” You chuckle.

“We started becoming drinking buddies. I wasn’t going to college, and he didn’t want to go pro, so we just stayed home. One day, I was really drunk. He uh...he offered to drive me home. I got into a fight, and someone smashed a beer bottle over my head, and I was bleeding. So we went to leave, and he was sober, but it was 3 in the morning and he was rushing to get me to a hospital. He swerved into the other lane, and we were very close to a semi, so he drove us off a hill in panic, and we fell into a ditch.” Wanda watched you as tears threatened to leave your eyes.

“When I woke up, I didn’t realize I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, I was halfway through the windshield, half dead. Sometimes I wish I was, ya know?” Wanda felt guilty for not being there. “It’s not your fault for not being there.” The redhead frowns.  “I got drunk, got in a fucking fight. It was my fault we almost died.”

If Wanda had heard this 5 years ago, she’s sure she would’ve dropped everything to come see you. “Ya know, Nat asked if I wanted to call you, I said no.” Her eyebrows scrunch in confusion. “Why?” At that point in her life, she had needed an excuse to see you, but she thought you didn’t want to see her either.

“Cause you didn’t need to see me like that. You don’t need to see me like this now, ok? I-I-this was a mistake…” You quickly stand up, walking towards the door. “Wait, no. I-“ Wanda goes to stop you from leaving, but you pause her actions with a wave from your hand.

“I came to say hi to Felicia, so I’m gonna do that, and leave.” You nod to yourself, walking outside of the room, leaving Wanda speechless.

She lets out a shuddering breath, tears threatening to stain her cheeks. As soon as the door is closed behind her, tears flow.

———

It wasn’t until she got home that she fully indulged in her sadness.

Tonight she was alone. Vision was away with Tony and Bruce, working on some exhibits in Europe, and the boys were with Pietro for the weekend.

You were also alone, but a lot less sad. No, you felt good. It was closure, talking to Wanda finally. You let her go when she did. What you hadn’t realized was that she never did.

Vision was a buffer. She was so used to your gestures, her mind led her to believe you’d actually come back for her.

You flew all the way to NYU for Wanda. You sent her a car, and flowers to her apartment, wanting to reconcile over what happened.

Maybe you’d get another chance with her.

Wanda was annoyed by this. She said at the airport that she couldn’t, that you weren’t ready for something less emotional and more centered. You were too immature, and so was she.

“We need to grow up before we start again, Y/N.” She hadn’t expected to fall in love with someone else.

You didn’t know this of course, with Wanda not speaking to you in months. So one day, she called you herself, letting you to know to meet her at some diner not far from the apartment she’d began to share with Vision.

You met her there, and the conversation started off well. That was until she mentioned a boyfriend. “Boyfriend.” You repeated. “Yes, I have a boyfriend now, Y/N. It’s not like we were together when I left” She said with a meaner and colder tone than you’d liked to have heard from her. “Wait, do you think I’m mad about-”

“I personally could care less how you feel about it.” She blurts out, rendering you speechless. “Wanda, I-” She halts your voice with a wave of her hand. “I don’t want you coming around anymore, ok? I need to start over.” She then left so abruptly, you couldn’t even process when the waiter came over with a bill. You muttered a “thank you.”, leaving back to your house out in Long Island, before leaving back to Texas, and never coming back.

Was she insanely cruel? Yes, it was something she did. She was impulsive, and when you were together it was cute. When you weren’t and she hated you, it was hell. Wanda believed it was he right thing.

That day she walked out of the diner with tears in her eyes.

At this point, maybe just realized she took your kindness for granted, and expected you to be there for her, crippled and all.

In this moment she made a decision, and bought a ticket to Penn Station, hoping you were where she thought.
