I think it's okay for people to cast Tyene as white. She even says "White suits my colouring. I look so ... pure." Yes, she is half Rhoynar, but half andal. My father is PoC, and my mother is white. My best friend is also like this, and people never believe our dad's are PoCs. With Tyene, although she is Rhoynar, she is described as more white/andal looking. Which is why I think it's okay to cast her as a white FC. What do you think?
No. By casting Tyene as white you are whitewashing her.
We don’t actually know whether or not Tyene is half Andal, her mother could have been a Stony Dornish woman and that would have made Tyene a POC on both sides of her biological equation. However, despite what her mother is, Tyene is still a person of colour because her father is. Being biracial is a thing.
Fun fact: people who appear white can be POC too. My best friend is Lebanese and he looks completely white. I thought he was white upon meeting him. His cousins and nephews are blond and they look white as well. But guess what? He’s not white, nor is he considered such.
Just because you don’t look like a person of colour does not mean you aren’t one. Look at these women. They are both women of colour and yet they appear to be white.
Looking white does not mean you’re not a POC and it definitely is not okay to cast somebody who is white for a character who is a person of colour.Do you call Zayn Malik white because one of his parents are white? No. So don’t do that to Tyene either.

six families (2/6) - asoiafminor meme The Sand Snakes are the infamous bastard daughters of Prince Oberyn Martell by various women, the name alluding to their father’s nickname, “the Red Viper”, and to their surname Sand, given to bastards in Dorne. Some daughters of his were born of septas, others of noble women and others still of prostitutes. Despite the variances in their birthmothers and appearances, they are all said to have their father’s eyes. The oldest Sand Snakes are companions and confidantes of their cousin, Princess Arianne.
What are the admins' favorite fancast's for Tyene Sand? I can't really find sets dedicated to just her or feature her prominently. So what actresses do you like?
(Ash and Anne will probably edit this post later with their opinions)
I have made a few sets on my personal blog that feature the eldest Sand Snakes: here you go
From there you can see that I have a favorite for Tyene who’s the model Stephanie Bertram Rose. Let’s remember that Tyene is fair for Dornish standards, which doesn’t mean that she looks 100% Andal (she’s 50% Andal): she has light hair and eyes according to Dornish standards, because she is a mix. Therefore, for me Stephanie is a great choice: her father is Belgian and her mother Senegalo-Portuguese, so she is also a mix, a fair woman for Senegal, and not so fair for Belgium (I assume). [here is a set with Stephanie as Tyene by tumblr user azuila]Tyene is probably the hardest to fancast because of that (caucasian actresses do not work for Tyene and too many people do not know/forget that).
Antonia Thomas is another fancast, though I don’t know if any of us would portray her as Tyene in a set. Personally, I have nothing against her, I just prefer Stephanie who I think qualifies more to Tyene’s description of being fair (Antonia doesn’t have golden hair like Tyene’s).

would gabriella wilde be a suitable fc for tyene sand?
Hi!
So first off, this is the description for Tyene from A Feast for Crows:
“She is fair, with golden hair, blue eyes and an almost otherworldly innocence about her.”
Hence I can definitely see where you’re coming from, however, Gabriella Wilde is not an appropriate choice for Tyene and for that matter, neither is any other caucasian actress.
Despite the fact that her description matches that of a white person’s, Tyene herself is person of colour and by casting her as a fully white woman you would be white-washing her and erasing her heritage. From what is known about Tyene’s parentage, she is the bastard daughter of Oberyn Martell, a person of colour, and a septa whose race is unknown. Therefore she is still a person of colour due to the fact that her father is canonically so.
Choosing a more appropriate FC for her honestly depends on whether you want to follow the show and cast a Latino actress as her. I, however, would largely recommend that you cast a Middle Eastern or South Asian actress for her as Dorne and House Martell are influenced by the Moors and fanart of it that GRRM had picked himself strongly depicts Middle Eastern and South Asian influences.
These are some potential alternatives for Tyene:
Pelin Karahan is a Turkish actress and my personal favourite choice for Tyene. She also matches Tyene’s physical description.

Ashika Pratt is a New Zealand model and although she does not match Tyene’s physical description, she is of the appropriate race.
Katrina Kaif is an Indian actresses and again, she does not fit Tyene’s physical description but she is half Indian and half caucasian
Many other Turkish actresses also fit Tyene’s description.
