Can We Be Alone Together?

Can We Be Alone Together?

So... This is just an idea that I had and thought: why don’t write it then?

English is not my first language, so be aware that it’ll problably have some mistakes. I hope you enjoy, though.

Warnings: none, I think. Just some fluff.

Word count: ~1.3K

Y/n’s POV

Today is the one of those days. I just woke up and I already know that every little thing that doesn’t go the way I expect is going to end up whit me almost having a breakdown. On days like this, I can’t stand interacting with people, because I’m sure that at some point I’ll snap at them, I will say things that I don’t want to, and it’ll hurt them, and the guilty will hurt me.

So, today is one of those days when I try my best to be alone and not interact with nobody. First mission: getting coffee and coming back to my room without being noticed. I manage to complete the task easily, since it’s an early Saturday morning and, believe it or not, the Avengers wake up a little later in weekends. I also managed to pick some snacks and bring them to my room, I think it’s enough to even skip lunch.

Once back in my room, I take some minutes to choose a book, something that stresses me more than it should, and lay in my bed to start reading. Almost an hour later knock knock.

      - S/n? Are you awake?

Loki, my best friend. I should’ve known he was going to come see me at some point. Actually, I knew, but I thought it would be later and I would have more time to think of an excuse. Apparently, that’s not happening.

      - You know I know you’re awake, you never sleep too much. I just want to know if you are okay, darling. Can I come in?

How do you say to such a sweet person, a person that you love, that you don’t want to be in their company, because you don’t want to talk to them? You don’t want to be in a conversation that will just stress you. That you don’t want to talk at all? There’s no good way, so I just say it straightly.

      - I’ll be fine. I just want to be alone, Loki.

Silence. 10 seconds. 15. 30… Is he gone? Is he mad at me? 1 minute has passed and finally:

      - Can I be alone with you?

This time, he is the one who keeps waiting for an answer for some time.

      - What? – I ask, unsure if I heard his words right.

      - Can I be alone with you? Like… - I can feel he’s hesitating now – Can we be alone together? – Well, it looks like I couldn’t deny that even if I wanted.

      - Okay. The door is unlocked.

      - Give me some minutes, I’ll just take the book I’m currently reading and I’ll be right back, darling. Thank you.

And he did exactly that. Five minutes later, he was beside me in my bed, just silently reading. When Loki first entered the room, I really thought he would try starting a conversation, but he didn’t and I’m immensely grateful for that. The rest of the day went just like that. The two of us reading alone, but together. Loki looked like he was in peace and I, I certainly was.

Little bonus:

The next day, I woke up feeling much better and managed to prepare breakfast for Loki. If I thought the smile he gave me when he entered the kitchen to the coffee and food I had prepared for him was bright, the smile he gave when I just said thank you was like a supernova, the brightest one that could even exist.

Old Friends

This time the inspiration came from a Tinder conversation I saw on Reddit (didn’t could find later to put it here, though) and instantly thought about some situation with Bucky. So, that’s it, I hope you enjoy! Like always, English is not my first language and I was a little sleepy writing this so, expect some mistakes.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader (female)

Warnings: none. not proofread

Word count: 502.

Bucky’s POV

She was coming, walking straight towards him. The girl he’s been looking through the whole night and trying to collect enough courage to talk to. When Sam brought him to this bar, he didn’t think anything different than the usual would happen, but after a few minutes being there, his eyes caught her on the other end of the room and he just couldn’t help but stare. Even with Sam constantly pushing him to go talk to her, he couldn’t do it. And now, she was coming in his direction, and he didn’t have a clue on what to do.

     - Hey, I’m Y/n L/n. – She said while offering her hand to him when she got at their table.

     - Bucky Barnes. Hi.

     - So, Bucky, what do you say we play a game? – The woman had a look of playfulness in her eyes, and suddenly Bucky was feeling (even more) nervous. Sam just observed the scene trying to find out what would come from that interaction.

     - What kind of game? – He asked with uncertainty, but at the same time wanting to spend some more time with the beautiful girl who took his attention through all the night.

     - It’s simple. We’re just going to pretend like we’re old friends who lost touch with each other, like 10 years ago or something like that. What do you say? You first? – Bucky took some time to considerate his options and concluded that he got nothing to lose by going with this. So, he took a breath and entered in character (at least he hoped he succeeded on this, after being in a lot of disguised missions, it shouldn’t have been hard).

     - Y/n, is you? I’m Bucky, remember? We don’t talk since the Eiffel Tower incident. How are you?

     - Sorry, I’m not sure if I remember you – She said with her brows furrowed feigning confusion and then she winked and mouthed “You’re doing good”. He smiled at that and answered.

     - We had a few classes together at college, I used to have my hair shorter and was in the football team.

     - Oh, Bucky! Now I remember you. My phone got broke some time ago and I ended up losing all my contacts. Do you mind telling me your number again so we can keep in touch this time?

     - Well, that was- that was good. – He said really surprised, not having expect the conversation to take this path right away, but enjoying that it did, nonetheless. Sam couldn’t help but laugh at Bucky’s expression.

     - Good enough for you to give me your number? – She asked while offering her phone to him and Bucky didn’t think twice before taking it in his hands and adding his number there, proceeding to give it back to her when he was done. – I’ll call you. – And then she winked and turned around to leave. Little did they know that they would end up being so much more than just (fake old) friends.

My dad and I once had a disagreement over him using the adage "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

I said, "That's just not true. Sometimes what doesn't kill you leaves you brittle and injured or traumatized."

He stopped and thought about that for a while. He came back later, and said, "It's like wood glue."

He pointed to my bookshelf, which he helped me salvage a while ago. He said, "Do you remember how I explained that, once we used the wood glue on them, the shelves would actually be stronger than they were before they broke?"

I did.

"But before we used the wood glue, those shelves were broken. They couldn't hold up shit. If you had put books on them, they would have collapsed. And that wood glue had to set awhile. If we put anything on them too early, they would have collapsed just the same as if we'd never fixed them at all. You've got to give these things time to set."

It sounded like a pretty good metaphor to me, but one thing I did pick up on was that whatever broke those shelves, that's not the thing that made them stronger. That just broke them. It was being fixed that made them stronger. It was the glue.

So my dad and I agreed, what doesn't kill you doesn't actually make you stronger, but healing does. And if you feel like healing hasn't made you stronger than you were before, you're probably not done healing. You've got to give these things time to set.

When Did This Happen? Part 1

I’m thinking about this being a 3 parts series. Tell me if I should write the next chapters, already have some ideas in my head. Pairing: Loki x Reader Word Count: 444 Warnings: none

image

You are an introvert. That means, among other things, that you love alone time and silence. You love your personality, really, but those things always have made it difficult for you to make friends and keep them.

And those things also are what let you to this moment. Alone, in the living room of the Avengers Tower, watching The Office US while the entire team are enjoying the big party the playboy (his words) Tony Stark is throwing tonight. You’re not complaining, though, this allows you to watch your favorite show on the really gigantic TV of the living room.

The party started not so long ago, so you are a little surprised when you hear steps coming from the hallway and getting louder, indicating that someone is approaching. And if you weren’t expecting someone from the team to be there, what you were expecting even less was for Loki being there. He lives in New Asgard with Thor and doesn’t usually go to the tower.

“Loki?” You ask in the moment he passes the doorway and he, just then, seems to notice you. “You need something?”

Instead of answering your question, he stares at you for some time and lets another question out. “What are you doing here? There’s a party out there.”

“Yeah, I’m not really a fan of parties. And I could ask you the same question. Actually, you didn’t answer mine, do you need something?”

One more time, he doesn’t respond and you just roll your eyes and look back at TV, knowing that it would be useless to discuss with the god. He again surprises you when he just sits on the couch you’re onto and starts watching as if this was something normal.

You two keep watching, and laughing, until your eyes start getting heavy and you stand up with a yawn. “I’m going to sleep. You can keep watching if you want, I’ve watched before.”.

“Maybe I will. Can I get your number, though?” Well, you aren’t expecting this, and with your silence he continues. “I’m thinking about keeping watching once I’m back at New Asgard. And if I am going to do this I would like to talk to you about it. That is, if you are good with that.”

You hesitate a little, but think Why not? What could go wrong?. And with that, you give your number to the god.

“I was going to pull a prank.” He says when you are almost out of the room.

“What?”

“When I came here, I was going to prank the Avengers, you know, to get some fun. But I guess what I found was way better.”

..

Tenho muito a construir minha fé

Minha força de vontade e de resiliência

O caminho é longo e um pouco penoso

Mas o final de tudo é feito de pôr de sol

..

Por isso é que vale tanto a pena viver

Pelo sonho que não canso de alimentar

Pelo pôr do Sol que sempre me encanta

E por tudo que posso ser quando sou paz

..

..
