Cape Kraken Kraken CapeI Wanted A House Greyjoy Cloak, So I Made One. Instruction For Making One Yourself
Cape Kraken Kraken Cape I wanted a House Greyjoy cloak, so I made one. Instruction for making one yourself down below.

Super easy Cape/Cloak Tutorial for beginners:
What materials you need:
For the cloak: -2m / 6ft 6 waterproof fabric that doesn’t need hemming
-Matching thread
-a oversized hood pattern (super easy to diy)
For the Kraken version you’ll additionally need:
-2m / 6ft6 gold trim
-gold thread, I used 2 spools à 2m/ 6ft 6 including embroidery
-2 buttons for eyes

The base cloak:
Cut a square of fabric using the width of your fabric. (folded on the picture)
Make a hood pattern by tracing a hood shape on paper, but make the bottom part of the hood have an extended piece of fabric, that will be used as closure later. You can make it as long as you want.

Use the remaining fabric to cut out 2 hood pieces.

Pin the hood pieces together leaving the straight side free and then sew the pinned pieces together aside from the straight side.

Fold your fabric square in half, you’ll need to cut out a small half circle on the edge where the fabric folds over. Measure your neck and use ¾ of that length to mark the sides of what your half circle cut out will be. Now combine the lines with a quarter circle and cut that circle out. This will give you the half circle where the hood will be attached.

Pin the hood to the fabric with the insides facing each other and sew the hood to the cloak.

If you simply want a cloak you can stop now for your friendly neighborhood’s watch style.

For the Kraken version you’ll need to trim the hood with gold. Fold the trim in half and pin the middle of the trim to the top of the hood where the seam is to get an even outcome. Then pin the trim along the hood leaving the rest of the trim to hang free so you can use it as a closure later. Sew the trim on.

Next lay the cloak flat on the floor and draw tentacles on it, than sew along the tentacle lines with gold thread.

For the eyes I needed some help, but you can eyeball it. I asked my mom to put the hood on so I could find the right spot to attach the eyes in a kraken looking way and then sewed them on.

If you want you can sew a beak. Trace a beak onto the base of the hood and sew it on.

Then I started on the suckers. You could make them in a different number of ways, using fabric color, sewing on buttons or beads or cutting out tentacles with a pre-embroidered fabric, but here’s how I did it through machine embroidery:

I used a zick-zack stitch to create little squares, lifted the foot and needle to move it further down the fabric where I made the next little square and I left the threat in between there. You could cut it off or sew a straight line between the squares, I just liked this visually the most.

This embroidery is the most time consuming part of the whole project.
And that’s it. You have a fancy Kraken Cloak now.

@owlsinathens Theon cloak? I thought. Theon cloak! I made. Balon would probably tell me I am a disgrace for the family.

-also Rex Goodwin in Yu Gi Oh 5Ds, but I didn’t watch it
I didn't remember Spinner's voice on anime and I just died on impact
He's so hot and for what

i think bakugo sees that endevour is what he could have become if he went down the wrong path. someone who is completly obsessed with being the number 1. having just re-read the very first chapter reminded me how much bakugo has grown out of that unhealthy behaviour that aligns extremly with endevour. but he has changed, he isn’t obsessed with having to be the best in everything and doesn’t think that others are worthless based on their quirks anymore. but endevour did not grow out of that behaviour as a teenager, instead he grew up to become a man so obsessed with power he bought a wife to have children that could be even more powerful. and i think that bakugo knows that this is what he could have become, he recognizes his own mistakes in endevour and doesn’t forgive them.
bakugou is a loyal ass bitch, he and shouto are literally ride or dies. he has not had a nice thing to say to or about endeavor since he overheard what shouto told midoriya at the sports festival. he went to that agency only because that’s the #1 hero and the first thing he did was call that grown ass man cringy to his face. he hasn’t paid any special attention to endeavor during their time there and has, in fact, stayed relatively close to shouto, lingering back with him and standing off to the side with him. say what you want about him but he’s literally stayed right by shouto’s side and avoided any sort of idolization or praise of endeavor. in fact!! he’s always thought he was terrible, all the way back when he was just a baby he was like “i don’t want this shit” when his dad tried to give him an endeavor toy
@owlsinathens I am speechless, this has to be one of the strangest combinations I have ever seen. But it sure as the watery halls made my day. (I’d watch a god fight in asoiaf universe! Imagine suddently the actual drowned god showed up and the trees making surprised pikatchu faces while Melisandre regrets her live decisions.)

Everybody wants to be a pro (hero)

Quirkism in chapter 1

On the very first page we learn that how you are born can give you an advantage in life. And Bakugos role in the first chapter is to solidify that standpoint of some people are better than others because of that.

This comes into play over and over again. Deku is perceived as a lesser being because he is quirkless, people get discriminated based on “weak” mutation quirks like Spinner, whereas “strong” mutation quirks like Gang Orca are praised. Flashier quirks like explosion are more impressive and wanted, unlike extremely strong but less flashy quirks like erase or mind control, even giving the students disadvantages in the entrance exam.

Quirkless people are pitied by others like Inko trying to console Deku by saying she is sorry that his goal of becoming a hero isn’t possible, because the idea of a hero is so warped around having a quirk, while Deku only wanted to hear that you can be a hero regardless, which he later shows, he is.

On the other hand Bakugo got at 14 an internship offer after being nearly killed by a villain. Because of his flashy, strong quirk. An offer from a pro that did not help to safe him, while Deku gets scolded.

And quirks are a competition for money and fame, being a pro is about money and fame you want to gain. This is the foreshadowing of Endevour’s whole life. A man who unlike Bakugo did not grow out of his being on top is the most important thing in life phase. A man who made and abused his family for his own personal goals of being on top.

Thankfully Bakugo grew out of this behaviour.

The foreshadowing of All Might being the last pillar holding the society together.
We know from the television scene that he is what makes people to not have fear. This is why when a villain strikes crowds form to see heroes instead of getting themselves into safety. This is why society is still holding up with all that awfulness. Because All Might is there to safe the day.

There is no change needed because he is not a pro hero for money and fame, he is a hero. He wants so help people, to save them and he suffers for them. To the point where his own health comes after the world.
This is something we now see in Deku too and as Bakugo called him out so nicely: it is very wrong.
Because in All Might is led to this:

He can not succumb in any way. And he is not talking about outside forces here, he talks about his own health. The forces of evil being the injury he suffered through fighting. He isn’t allowed to be human. Heroes, pro heroes are not allowed to be human in his and societies eyes. They are there to be idol beings with no flaws.
So what happens once that symbol that one person that actually upheld those inhumane standards is gone? Society crumbles as soon as something happens. That something being Dabi, telling the world about Endevour’s abuse and Hawk’s murder.
