Finding An Old, Weird, Forgotten Raskulls Website

this post is dedicated to those in the Raskulls fandom... do you believe in the teapot?

this was a sort of inside joke going around Halfbrick's emails, specifically an email to a Destructoid writer in 2009. it started as a simple image attachment (the one above), before another, slightly more threatening email was sent saying you WILL believe in the teapot, as well as containing a URL to the now defunct "believeintheteapot" website. you can find the articles about this here and here. under the cut is me exploring an archive of this website and the many wack ass oddities on it.

i found out about this a little while ago, around the same time i was messing around with the Wayback Machine on Halfbrick's old blog from 2010, but i never knew there was a website related to it. seeing that the URL no longer worked, i popped it into the Wayback Machine and this is what i got:

if you're wondering what that countdown is counting down to, it's... well, Duck isn't the best counter as the website says, so it just continuously boosts up to random numbers in the thousands. guess we'll never know what godly endeavors the Holy Teapot has waiting for us... let's explore more of the site! what if i say "no" this time?

... cool! i just got sent straight to Hell! awesome! i guess the Teapot has more power than i first thought... just how many poor damned heathens are trapped within that cave? what the hell is that thing in the back? could it be the byproduct of the combined sins of those who denied lour lord and savior the Teapot? i never knew Raskulls had this much hidden lore.

according to the second article, the website feature only this image on it...

... which i didn't find when searching the website on the Wayback Machine. the article is dated on the 5th of October 2009, and the earliest capture on the Wayback Machine is on the 9th. at least there are plenty more captures of the website's more updated incarnation up to 2016 and that i get to show this anomaly to you :)

archiving every single one of Barry's death screen quotes from Monster Dash: a rope of sand

so back when Monster Dash was first released in 2010, Barry had a handful of quotes he would say on the menu screen after he dies. when Monster Dash got updated a while later before being taken down completely, these quotes disappeared from the game and ended up being barely archived, so i thought i'd save every one i could find so they wouldn't fall into obscurity.

i found all these by sifting through decade-old videos recorded on bandicam or by some kid with a camera pointed shakily at the screen so i apologise for the quality being inconsistent and dodgy

first image id: "Note to self: Next time there is a wall, don't jump into it!"

second image id: "Agghh walls. My only weakness."

these were used for when Barry died by running into a wall and falling into the endless void :3 these were also the most common that i kept finding because slamming into walls was very common in the videos i sorted through,, i understand its ok

image ids: "That [enemy] is just angry because no one will ever love him. Or her. Or whatever it is." (this quote switches out the name of the enemy depending on which one Barry got killed by, which is either a zombie, a mummy, a yeti, a vampire or a demon)

damn Barry going off!! this is one of the meanest things he has ever said to anyone ever and i think that is incredibly funny, jesus Barry

these were used for when Barry died to spikes,,, not much else to say other than that i find these to be very charming and funny

that first quote i literally could only find in like 2 videos, it's apparently pretty rare! i apologise for the fact that it was recorded off some dude's ancient iPad, the only other screenshot i have of it is in an even worse quality taken half a metre away from someone's computer screen...

and finally, a monster-death specific quote to end on :) if anyone knows about any more quotes i might have missed feel free to reply with them and i'll try to find a video or an image of them. i think i got all of them though,,, i hope so....

... i may or may not be making some sort of vtuber model thing for Barry Steakfries.......

i haven't got too much done yet since i'm still getting used to Gimp and using a drawing tablet, but i've gotten his eyes fully coloured so far! this is based off Barry's rig in his vlog series and i thought it'd be funny if i tried to make a vtuber model of him with no prior experience. i still need to properly align his facial features so they might look a little wonky right now.

this is kinda showing what his eyes are gonna look like and is slightly more updated than the previous screenshot. ignore any slight colouring bullshittery you may see in the middle of his pupils :3

this is the original sketch i did as a base for my digital drawing :P his eyes are a little too close to each other and his jaw is slightly skewed, so that's gonna be fixed when i get to finishing drawing his face. can't wait to colour it all !! this is mainly a personal project for myself, so no guarantee on when (or if) this will be finished/released since i have no idea what i'm doing technical-wise with the whole mapping-everything-together-and-hoping-it-works schtick, but we'll see :) i might use Live2D for him based on a simple tutorial i saw for making vtubers and whatnot. i find it so funny that i'm doing this despite not even being a vtuber nor wanting to be one, i just think Barry being a vtuber is funny

this is another one from Halfbrick's vlog that was posted when they announced they were moving headquarters. i really love when Barry's drawn in this style, they always make him look so beefy and expressive!! he looks so proud of himself, probably because everyone somehow trusted him to carry the delicate computers without fumbling and dropping them lol

(i like to think that after the events of Level 2, him, Flash and Craig do this all together as a sort of family y'know? family bonding time and reading fairytales with each other :) i think that's really neat)

this image is just really funny to me :) this one's from the Robot Bird rock opera. it's really funny cause like, imagine hearing your phone ring right, and you wonder "hmmm who could that be" and you pick up your phone and the only thing you see is this. you don't know who this man is or how he found your number and the very first impression he makes on you is a picture of him planking in the middle of a park. do you pick up or is that image alone too intimidating to answer?

i love how Barry just gets this blank expression whenever he's confused about something, like Craig tries to explain something basic and Barry is just gazing absentmindedly at him like "😶 huh" it's so funny XP
