This week's episode of Human Brains Are Weird: READING

I personally get really into reading. When I read I get taken into a different world, I watch the scenes playing out and I love the loves of the characters. I'm surprised when they're surprised, angry when they're angry, sad when they're sad, happy when they're happy, etc.

But others aren't like that.

To some others, reading is just comprehending words on a page. They aren't attached to the characters because they're just words on a page thG someone came up with. Everything in the book is inconsequential because it's just a book.

I don't understand though. I've never understood why people say reading is boring. I've never understood how other people aren't transported to these other worlds.

I've gotten to quite a few twists and emotional scenes in the book I've been reading (*cough* Song of Achilles *cough*) and everytime I express it to my boyfriend his response is "its just words on the page" and I know that but also I am reading this real-time and I feel what he feels and dear gods it is painful.

The human brain is just weird.

If there is one thing I can sayI learned from my 10th grade World History class is that France is Not Having A Good Time

Disney's Robin Hood was definitely my bi beginning.

I didn't know it yet but I 100% had a crush on both Maid Marian AND Robin Hood himself

And the desire is never stronger than when you are away from everything you use to write and have no way to write what you want except for the pen and pad that comes in your hotel

damn, no desire is ever felt so strongly as the desire to write fic when you’re really supposed to be doing something else

Listen- sometimes I need specific step-by-step instructions an other times I need you to shut up and let me exist

Like if you tell me to clean my room or the house I need you to tell me what, where, and how.

But if you EVER tell me exactly what, how, and with what I should make art with, I will gut you and turn your entrails (intrails?) into a masterpiece and donate it to the local art museum
