watching s4 again for the idekth time just reinforces my dissatisfaction with liam's arc in the series. he's such an interesting character, but he's mostly a plot device. like, i know, the series isn't about him, but as scott's first bitten beta, liam deserved more development and depth. he went through more than one death situation at the age of FIFTEEN and he already had to deal with IED before that, plus his family's reactions to his outburst, cuz what he did with his coach's car is quite worrying to let it pass. how come liam only has outbursts when the story needs him to? the boy was having nightmares about berserkers, he was almost eaten by a wendigo, he almost fell from a building and almost died in a well after being stabbed—not to mention the guilt he took upon himself when brett and lori died or the guilt for trying to kill scott on the supermoon thing or when mason got shot in scott's house. scott carries a lot, there's no denying that. we talk about theo and his life a lot too. but we need to talk more about liam cuz, god, this boy carries a whole world on his shoulders and the show doesn't give him the time for him to process things or for us to get to know his character better. he has a stepdad, no dad. his mom is only mentioned, and neither of them is mentioned or seen when 6b is happening. dr. geyer isn't a doctor in the hospital ??? like, wtf ???? just saying my boy liam deserves better
