Trust in the name of the LORD, who knows what you need and what you are ready for better than you yourself do. We often try to force certain things to happen in our life - marriage, parenthood, careers, and more - but these choices are often to our detriment. Know that the Almighty God has a timeline for us all, a timeline which cannot be rushed.
There are lots of lonely people out there, people who are desperate to find someone who can fill the void in their life. A spouse will not bring you ultimate happiness, nor will a huge salary, a mansion, or even parenthood - the only Way to true happiness is Christ Jesus. I hope that you will stay strong and stay faithful as you wait for God to bless you when the right time arrives. God bless you
Happy Feast Day Saint Teresa of Avila Doctor of the Church 1515 - 1582 Feast Day: October 15 Patronage: bodily ills; headaches; lacemakers; loss of parents; people in need of grace; people in religious orders; people ridiculed for their piety
Teresa of Ávila, baptized as Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, was a prominent Spanish mystic, Carmelite nun, writer of the Counter-Reformation, and theologian of contemplative life through mental prayer. She was a reformer of the Carmelite Order and is considered to be a founder of the Discalced Carmelites along with John of the Cross. {website}
Marriage has not, and never has been, merely a socioeconomic arrangement. It has never been a pairing of convenience, a temporary alliance meant to cease once husband and wife tire of each other or desire someone else. It has never been a "feel-good" partnership that crumbles as soon as adversity is encountered.
Marriage is, has always been, and always will be the one-flesh union of one man with one woman, a union ordered toward the fruits of mutual support, mutual comfort, and (above all) procreation. It is meant to endure hardship, and through that endurance become even stronger & more devoted. It is one that is not rooted in sociology, but in biology, and predates any conscious human notion of culture or society or civilization.
Scripture makes it clear that Christ takes his Church as his only bride, loving Her so tremendously that he would offer his mortal life on the Cross for Her Eternal Life in his Kingdom. St. Paul reminds us that the husband is head of the family, just as Christ is head of the Church, who is the Mystical Body of Christ. Even in the mystical marriage between Church, we see this union - Christ as the head united with the Church as the body.
We must take a stand for Biblical marriage in these confusing times of ours. Because there are many today who say that marriage can be dissolved for any reason or for no reason at all, who say that marriage is possible between more than two individuals, who say that marriage is possible between people of the same sex, that marriage is possible for a husband and wife who are completely opposed to procreation, and even that marriage is an obsolete and unnecessary institution.
We have two options: to roll over and let the Father of Lies triumph over this Holy Sacrament, or to defend the Truth that the LORD has revealed through Scripture and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Truth is worth defending, Marriage is worth defending, and I pray that God always grants me the courage and strength to do so. I hope he does the same for you, and I hope that you will join me in fighting to preserve Biblical Marriage.
