Beef Stew Plus Corn

Beef Stew Plus Corn
I was taken aback when corn on the cob was included among the ingredients in a chicken stew recipe. Why not try it with my beef stew, I reasoned? I'm pleased I gave it a shot. You ought to do the same. That adds some great flavor.

Bubble Tea
Catching up with loved ones and listening to our favorite music while we chewed on our tapioca pearls. Much has changed since I was first introduced to bubble tea, but my love for bubble tea has not. The traditional milk tea is my favorite. The sweet, creamy beverage of strong tea, milk and those addictive tapioca pearls is something I crave so frequently. Have you got a favorite flavor of bubble tea?

Breakfast
Breakfast is simple today, nothing fancy just straightforward bread with a slather of strawberry preserves and a hot cup of coffee with milk completes the meal.
FYI: Many of you have noticed that I left suddenly and haven't been around for more than a couple of months. I am so appreciative of all the emails you sent me expressing your affection and worry. I was quite sick, but I'm now well again.

Sesame Ginger Garlic Chicken
In the past, I had conflicting emotions regarding skinless, boneless chicken breast. I'm aware that many people consider it to be the simplest, most approachable cut of chicken to prepare, but I've witnessed it go horribly wrong far too often to concur. It is challenging to cook properly because of the irregular thickness and shape; by the time the thickest part's core is fully done, the other portions are overcooked. Additionally, without the bones to protect it from direct heat and the skin to keep it moist as it cooks, the meat is extremely susceptible to drying out. But you can easily overcome the drawbacks of skinless, boneless chicken breasts. Bring them to a flat, even thickness by pounding. It becomes a "paillard" once it has been pounded. It cooks amazingly.

The Soup Spoon Cafe
The most enjoyable meals in life are those shared with loved ones or close friends. My fondest memories of food are of watching my father prepare and serve his own meals to our family. It makes me so happy recounting the family dinners from my youth.

Orange Chicken
A traditional dish from Chinese-American restaurants, orange chicken consists of crispy fried chicken mixed in a tangy, sticky citrus sauce. But, others would argue that if you've just ever ordered it for takeout or delivery, you've been losing out.
There is much to be said for the delicate balance of orange chicken prepared in the style of takeout when it is first removed from the pan. You simultaneously experience the crunch and the savoriness. But after 30 minutes, forget it. Just out of the pan, it tastes so much better. Thankfully, it's simpler than you may imagine to bring the staple of Chinese takeaway home.
"Food is everything we are. It's an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It's inseparable from those from the get-go." - Anthony Bourdain
