Seal vs Shark
Mun þú mik, man ek þik. Unn þú mér, ann ek þér.
Translation:
‘Remember me, I remember you. Love me, I love you’.
(Source: Inscription found in Bergen, dated before 1198) The above poem written in runes is used as pattern in the illustration.
A fight between a megalodon (a giant prehistoric shark) and a selkie (mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin).
Runes (Younger Futhark), for example the above poem, Icelandic magical staves, and morse code are used as patterns.
Ink on paper (and a little but of acrylic paint) 52cm x 42 cm
Do you ever think of me?
'Cause you're the ghost in my heart
