It's easy to apply the hurt that has been done to you to everyone who is similar to the aggressor.
When I was hurt by someone with red hair, I became distrustful of those with red hair. Did that make any sense? No. But my trauma made it logical, necessary for survival.
I see it happen often in syscourse that people apply the hurt that has been done to them to every single person shows any similarity to that original hurt. Anti-endos are all evil, pro-endos are all evil, all endogenic systems are horrible because XYZ happened to me, because I was abused by someone who used that label, etc etc etc etc...
It's very easy to use that logic, because your brain is trying to keep you safe. The issue with this being, your brain does not always understand what is safe and what is not, particularly if you've been traumatized. It is overly cautious and will often rely on harmful coping skills that, while they may work, will also hurt you in the long run.
I want to challenge everyone today to look at their biases and understand that people are more than just their labels. People are actions and thoughts and desires.
Move past these things and move on. You've got this!
