Description: Y/N and Jay are in a secret relationship. Will likes Y/N and makes a move on his brothers girl.

Y/N and Jay had been secretly dating for four months now, and it was going relatively well. They'd spend the night and most days off together, and have little dates at home. Which is what they'd done last night.

Y/N locks her apartment door and follows Jay into the hallway.

"Ready?" Jay asks. Y/N nods and they interlace their fingers before they start walking.

Jay walks Y/N to her car and they stand outside of it for a few seconds.

"Be careful today please. I don't need you showing up in the ED with a GSW."

"Can't make any promises, but I'll try my best." He chuckles then kisses her forehead. "You be careful too. Don't try to fight grown men if they are on steroids."

"Will do." Y/N laughs. She looks at her watch and sighs. This was her least favorite part of the day. "I'll see you later, ok?" Jay nods and gives her one last kiss before he opens her door for her and closes it once she gets in and starts the vehicle. He doesn't make his way to his vehicle until she's made it out of the parking lot.

Y/N and Will were working on a young boy who'd been brought in, obviously assaulted. They'd called for the police to come to the hospital, but then they got dragged into questioning from the head of the hospital.

They'd finally made it into the break room for they're lunch when Y/N caught Will staring at her.

"You ok Halstead?" She asks as she sits down next to him.

"Yeah." He clears his throat and looks away. "Just thinking about some things."

"What things? I could probably help." Y/N offers and sits her lunch on the coffee table.

"Well. I uh-." He hesitates. "There's this girl I like. I've liked her for a while now, but I don't know much about her, like if she's single, because she tends to like having her business broadcasted to the whole city of Chicago." He pauses. "She sort of acts like she might feel the same way, but I'm not sure if it's just how it seems to me."

Y/N thinks for a minute.

"I could tell him how I found out Jay liked me. I mean telling one person about us wouldn't be terrible, besides, he's his brother."

"Well, you could try making a move on her, but a subtle one, you know? So it's like if she responds well to it, she most definitely is attracted to you, but if not, she'll think of it as a friendly gesture." Y/N explains. Will nods and they sit there for a few moments in silence before Y/N starts to speak again. "I actually want to tell you something. I'm-." She gets cut off by Will smashing his lips onto hers. Y/N squeaks and jumps up from the couch. She covers her mouth with her hand. "-Dating your brother!" She finishes.

Jay has seen it all. He was the Detective sent to get information from the boy, and Maggie had told him where both you and Will were.

Well, he didn't see it all. Just the part that makes it look like Y/N kissed his brother.

For the rest of the day, Y/N didn't hear anything from Jay, and when she went to his place that evening, she didn't expect grumpy Jay.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Y/N asks as she sees Jay's grumpy demeanor.

"You should know." He states coldly.

"Ok?" She drags.

Had he seen what happened?

"You kissed my brother."

Yep. He saw.

"Jay. That wasn't at all what it looked like." Y/N says.

"Well to me, it looked like exactly what I saw." Jay retorts.

"I didn't want you to see it." Y/N whispers and rubs her temples.

"So you did kiss Will?!"

"No! Of course not! Will said he was having trouble telling if a girl he liked felt the same way, and I decided to tell him about us to use you as an example, but before I could get it out he kissed me!" Y/N exclaims, using her hands for special effect. "I'd never do that to you, and neither would Will! It was a mistake."

"But, you guys were so close to each other-." Jay cuts himself off.

"I was just trying to be a good friend, Jay." She says softly. "I love you. I'd never, ever, do that to you."

Jay looks at her, surprised.

That was the first time she's told him she loves him.

"It's ok. I get it." Jay says. "I guess I was just worried that I lost you to my own brother." He admits.

"No, never." Y/N hugs him and Jay just melts from her warm presence.

"And by the way. I love you too."

Pain [Jay Halstead]

Description: Y/N gets shot during a standoff. 

Warnings: Guns, blood, cussing probably.

Shots rang out as Intelligence tried to catch their subject. Justin Smith. He's killed seven people. He was discharged from the Marines under Dishonorable Conditions for shooting a man in Afghanistan. He's ruthless and he's got impeccable aim, so the team was really on edge.

"Y/L/N!" Voight yells. "You and Halstead move!" He demands.

Y/N and Jay were partners. They knew each other before they were partnered up considering they used to live on the same street, but they worked well together and got the job done.

Y/N moves behind Jay so she can cover him while he runs behind the wall to get closer to Smith. She holds her gun up and rests her hand on the back of Jays vest. He takes off and is safe in a matter of seconds.

Smith ducks down and Y/N takes her chance to run for it, but while she does that Smith shoots her in the leg with a sniper rifle. She shoots at him as she falls to the ground and she hits his shoulder.

"Y/N!" Jay yells.

"Halstead go! I'll cover you!" Atwater yells over the commotion. Jay runs over and grabs Y/N's vest, normally she'd hold her hand out so he didn't have to be exposed for long, but she passed out from hitting the ground hard.

He drags her behind the wall and collapses to the ground with her. Jay props her up and takes her thigh holster off so he can have access to her wound. It's a through and through, but it's bleeding heavily, so there's a good chance Smith hit her femoral artery. Jay reaches for his radio and keys it.

"Intelligence to Main."

"Go ahead Intelligence."

"Officer down. Through and through in the left thigh, possible femoral artery involvement. Have a Ambulance stage a block away from our location." He shouts over the gunfire. He puts the radio back and grabs his knife. He cuts the sleeve of Y/N's shirt off and makes it into a tourniquet. He twists it tight and Y/N groans in pain.

"Stop. Stop." She tries to push his hands away but Jay keeps his hands in place. "Stop." He looks up to see her face has paled significantly, she has bags under her eyes and she's sweating. His eyes widen and he swallows hard.

"I know it hurts." He breathes. "Just a little while longer. Ok?" She doesn't answer so he looks up again. She's slumped over with her eyes closed. Jay reaches up and presses his fingers to her carotid artery. Her pulse is there, but it's faint and slowing down.

"Voight!" He yells into his radio. "I need cover, she's bleeding out!"

"Atwater! Lindsay! Cover Halstead!" Voight orders. Kevin and Erin keep their guns on Smith and Jay throws Y/N over his shoulder and runs towards the door. Once he makes it out he grabs his radio again.

"Main where's our ambulance staged?!"

"Intersection of Main and Lake Shore." Jay turns and sprints to the ambulances location.

Once he turns the corner of Main street the paramedics get out and open up the back doors.

"Detective Y/N Y/L/N, twenty-five years old, GSW to the left thigh, definite Femoral Artery involvement, pulse is weak." He jumps in the back and puts her on the cot.

"Alright, off to Med."

It's been two hours. Two hours of waiting and pacing. Will had taken Y/N up to the OR after they got to the hospital. Jay felt a little bit better knowing it was his brother looking after her, and he knew Will would do everything to save her because Will knew how Jay felt about his partner. He's in love with her.

The rest of Intelligence had to go back to the district because they caught another case, but Jay was told to stay and wait for an update. Jay was nervous. He didn't know if he had the tourniquet tight enough, or if he had waited too long to get her out of the situation. He was about to go ask the nurse at the desk if she knew Y/N's condition when Will walked out.

"Hey, is she ok?" Jay asks.

"She's fine, we repaired her artery and gave her some blood back. She's awake and asking to see you." Jay sighs in relief. He puts his hand out to Will and he shakes his hand while pulling him in for a hug.

"Thank you." Will nods and gestures for Jay to follow him. They walk down a couple of hallways before stopping in front of a half opened door. Will knocks and steps in.

"I've got a visitor for you Y/N." Will moves so she can see Jay and when he steps in her eyes light up. "I'm gonna go check on my other patients. Press the call button if you need anything." Both detectives nod and Will closes the door on his way out.

"Hi." Jay says as he sits in the chair next to her bed.

"Hi." Y/N quietly says.

"You scared the hell out of me, you know that?" Jay grabs her hand.

"I know, and I'm sorry." Y/N brings their hands up to her lips and presses a kiss to Jay's knuckle.

"Don't be sorry. As long as you're ok, I'll be good."

When Patients Attack [Connor Rhodes]

Description: A patient assaults Y/N.

Warnings: Blood, assault. 

"Dr. Y/L/N, this is Louie Gramza, unconscious forty year old male, had a seizure in the ambulance on the way here. Five centimeter laceration across the forehead, Abdominal Contusions. BP and Heart Rate are slightly elevated." The paramedic finishes his handover and Y/N starts giving orders. She takes her penlight out and pulls Louie's eyelids back.

"Dr. Y/L/N his oxygen levels are low." A nurse says.

"Start him on oxygen and get me a Neurosurgery Consult, his left pupil is enlarged."

"Yes doctor." The nurse says. She runs out of the room to get to the phone.

While Y/N and April are getting ready to clean and stitch the laceration, Dr. Halstead runs into the room and asks if he could steal April for an emergency.

"Go ahead. I got this." On their way out the door to the trauma bay closes. She turns back to Louie and grabs the antiseptic. "Ok, Louie, lets get this stitched up."

After finishing the stitches, Y/N was told there was a wait on the Neuro Consult, so she started cleaning up the kit she used. She had her back turned to Louie, so she didn't notice when he woke up, and started to stand. He bumped the cart beside him and she quickly turned around.

"Louie, you're ok, but you should really get back in bed." She places her hands on his shoulders and tries to persuade him into at least sitting down. Louie grunts and pushes her back. She stumbles but doesn't fall. "Louie, get back in the bed now." She states firmly.

Louie suddenly shoves her into the bins and she falls. Then he grabs her and pushes her onto the gurney and she kicks and scratches at him. "Louie!" He grabs her by the neck and shoves her into the wall again, but this time into the glass cabinet. The glass shatters and Y/N can feel some of it get stuck in her neck and head, but she still fights to get him off. He grabs her by the neck and pushes her head into the window. It cracks, and she struggles to get a breath in. He does it a second and a third time before she goes unconscious.

"Hey April. Where's Y/N?" Connor asks as he stands by the nurses station.

"Last time I saw her was when we were in Baghdad treating a patient, but I got pulled."

"That was over an hour ago." Connor states. "No one has seen her since then?"

"I don't know, I'm sorry." April shrugs.

Connor decides to go look for her, so when he walks through the door, he is stunned at what he sees.

His fiancée. On the floor. Beat to hell.

"I need some help in here!" He yells. Immediately, April, Natalie, Will and a few other nurses join him in the room.

"Oh my god." April mutters before going to help Louie, knowing Connor will take care of Y/N. Will goes to help Connor as well.

"Get me that backboard! We're taking her into another room."

Y/N had her eyes closed, because her head felt like it was going to explode. She couldn't move and couldn't hear anything, so her eyes shot open as soon as Will and Connor rolled her onto her back. They both tried to talk to her, but all she heard was ringing, no words, sounds, nothing.

"Y/N, what happened?" Connor asks. She just looks at him with wide, confused eyes. Will looks at Connor and they share a look. "Can you move? Can you speak?"

They finally get her into another trauma room and start examining her.

"Her neck is bruised and swollen, she needs an airway evaluation." Will says, Natalie joins and pushes Connor out of the way.

While the doctors work on her, Y/N brings her right hand to her left ring finger.

It's gone.

"Y/N your lung is collapsing, we're going to need to push a chest tube in." Will tries telling her, but she still can't hear a single thing.

Maggie then rushes into the trauma room pulling her gloves on. Y/N and Maggie have a mother-daughter relationship. Y/N's parents were doctors here and she'd see Maggie all of the time.

"Hi, sweetie, follow my finger with your eyes ok?" Maggie says. She puts her finger in front of the doctors face and she follows it. Knowing that's what Maggie wanted her to do because that was their protocol. Maggie goes to grab a penlight when Y/N grabbed her hand. She used her right hand to point at her ring finger. Maggie looks down and realizes the beautiful ring is gone. "Connor! Her ring is gone!"

He walks up beside them and looks. "I don't care about the ring, it can be replaced. I only care about her right now."

"She loves that ring, you gave it to her."

Connor nods and his eyes widen. "Wait, did she hear you? Did she tell you her ring is gone?"

"I think she heard me, and no she grabbed my hand and pointed. Why? Has she not been following you guys?"

"No, she seems almost confused." Connor walks around to the other side and gives Will room to place the tube. He touches her jaw and Y/N immediately cringes. "Her jaws dislocated. I need to set it."

"You can't Connor." Natalie says.

"Have any of you set a jaw before?" He challenges. The other two shake their heads. "I'm doing it." He grabs gauze to place under his fingers and then grips it. "This is going to hurt."

POP

Tears well up in Y/N's eyes and Connor grabs her hand.

Connor sits in the chair beside her bed. She had just gotten out of surgery and was still asleep. While she was in surgery Connor went back to find her ring. It was mixed in with a pile of glass shards.

"She's going to so happy you found that." Maggie says as she stands in the doorway.

Connor looks around the room and tears gather in the corner of his eyes.

"I don't understand why he'd do that to her."

"He had a Epidural Hematoma. Y/N requested a Neuro Consult, but everything was a mess and the nurse didn't get it sent. She stayed with him because that's what she thought was going on."

"And this damn ring, it's all she cared about."

"She cares about it because it's from you, and she absolutely loves you. You're her favorite person."

Connor chuckles and wipes his tears. "I really do not deserve that woman."

Y/N taps Connor's hand, trying to get his attention.

"Hey, how are you feeling? Can you hear now?" She nods and makes a thumbs up. Connor smiles and presses a kiss to her forehead. "Look what I found." He pulls out the ring and her face lights up. She holds her left hand out for him to put it on her finger. "I also got this for you." He hands her a small dry-erase board and a marker. 

Y/N grabs it and turns it away from him. After a few moments she turns it around again. “I love you” is written with a heart besides it. 

“I love you too.”

Description: Theo and Y/N get into an argument, and Y/N crashes.

Y/N's hair was pulled back in a sloppy ponytail, little baby hairs were flying around her face as the wind blew through her car. She was on a open road with no traffic, not paying attention to the speedometer as she drove. She and her boyfriend of two years, Theo had gotten into a fight. They don't normally fight, but when they did it was bad. By the end they both had raw throats and tears rolling down their face. Y/N always left before they could argue again. She wasn't leaving Theo, and he knew that, she was giving them time to calm down.

When she goes on drives she doesn't think about Theo, the argument or their relationship. She thought about her family, the beach, anything but him; but today that wasn't working. They had gotten into it because Theo about got himself killed protecting Scott. Y/N loved Scott like he was her brother, but after what he put Theo through the guy would still risk his life for the alpha and it made her mad.

Y/N gets pulled out of her trance by a approaching curve, once she gets back on straight road she turns the radio up and tries to keep herself aware of her surroundings.

Theo had sat and cradled his head in his hands. He hated fighting with Y/N, because he loves her. Sure he had little flings before but Y/N is different. She's the one. He never treated any other person the way he treats Y/N. At night when they get ready for bed he always waits until she's in his arms to even think about closing his eyes. He cares about her more than anything in the world. He needs her.

Theo had gotten a feeling in his gut. It was telling him that something was wrong, and he needed to go after Y/N. So, he did.

Y/N's phone had died, so she unplugged it from the aux cord and tossed it in the passenger seat. Deep in the woods of Beacon County Y/N didn't get any cell service, or any channels on the radio. She needed sound, so she started talking. About Theo, The Pack, and everything that was going on in Beacon Hills. Every so often she would wipe under her eye, she didn't want to cry. What she wanted was to go home and see her boyfriend.

Y/N couldn't see the truck coming from the side road until it was too late. The truck had  T-Boned her and sent her car rolling. She landed in the ditch upside down, unconscious and bloody.

Theo knew where Y/N went each time they had a fight. It was a cabin at a lake that her family owns. Theo had been there with her multiple times. It didn't take him long to get close. After the curve you drive straight another ten miles.

His windows were rolled down so when he caught the scent of blood he slowed the truck down and started searching for the source.

Once it got really strong Theo saw the tire marks and pieces of car scattered across the road. He parked and got out. He followed the marks to the ditch and what he saw would scar him for life.

"Y/N!" Theo yelled as he rushed to the drivers side window.

Y/N had gained consciousness and heard Theo's voice.

"Th-Theo!" Her voice strained as she tried to catch his attention.

"Y/N, baby, are you ok?!" Theo got down to where he could see her and he wished he hadn't.

Y/N had blood, profusely dripping off her head and from around her legs.

"It hurts," she swallowed before she started again. "Everything hurts."

Theo was speechless. He didn't know what to say.

Hell, how would anyone know what to say?

"I'm going to call for help ok? Just keep talking!"

"I cant."

Paramedic [Kelly Severide]

Description: Severide saves his girlfriend and Shay’s asses.

Warnings: Mentions of drugs, guns, and I think that is it.

"Pulse is fading fast!" Shay exclaims as she and her PIC examine the patient while another man bangs his fist on the back doors of the rig.

"Open the door! Open the damn door!" The man yells.

"How long till the cops get here?!" Y/N says into her radio.

"Y/L/N, listen to me, you can't wait for the cops. You need to get out of there." The dispatcher replies.

"Negative, we need two minutes to keep our patient from going into cardiac arrest." Y/N replies.

"You don't have two minutes! Fifty yards West of you dead ends into Carlav Avenue. Take the rig and make a left. Now!"

Back at Station Fifty-One, Kelly and Chief Boden were listening in on the girls' radio traffic while standing around the Squad Table.

"We have to stabilize our patient!" Y/N holds her ground. In the background you can hear pounding and screaming on the doors.

"Take the Squad and go." Boden orders.

Now three men were pounding on the ambulances doors.

"Hey! Open up!"

Shay looks over at her partner and Y/N nods. She gets up and walks over to the window.

"Hey! Listen ok? This guys in really bad shape. Let us get him bandaged to stop the bleeding and we'll let him go." She negotiates. What the men didn't know was that Y/N was quietly sneaking out the side door to get in the front seat. "No questions asked." She adds.

"Let him out the ambulance first!" The shorter of the three shouts.

"Ok, whatever you say! But get back!"

The engine roars to life and the tallest man jumps up on the back of the rig.

"Open the damn door!"

Y/N stomps on the gas and the force makes the man fall off. They begin to chase the vehicle, but decide to get in their car. She makes a left turn and they go around the corner a few seconds after them.

"Y/L/N!" Shay yells.

"Yeah! I see them!" Y/N yells back.

"Ok, you're approaching an alley, take the first left before you get there." Dispatch says.

"Wait, wait, wait! That leads into a warehouse! There's nowhere to go!"

"Trust me. Go to the loading docks."

Y/N makes the turn and parks before making sure the car has gone past and getting out and into the back.

"You take the head and I'll grab an IV." She tells Shay. Shay nods and unzips the mans jacket, only to find multiple bags of drugs taped to him.

"No we know why this guy is so popular."

"Dispatch to Ambulance Sixty-One. Police Assistance has been detoured. New ETA is five minutes." Both girls look at each other and give a 'oh shit' look.

"Ten-Four main."

Shay presses her stethoscope to the mans chest and listens. "Lung sounds diminished. He's circling."

"Ok, I'm gonna use an IO Drill. That's the only way we're going to get him to Med alive." But before she can grab her supplies she is interrupted by her radio.

"Y/L/N they're coming back."

She quickly grabs her stuff and drills into the mans shin. She puts the line in and Shay tells her that they've arrived.

"Alright, lets get out of here." Shay opens the door and jumps out, then the men start shooting at her. "Shots fired! Shots fired!" Y/N yells as she ducks from the shot out window. A set of sirens come from the road they pulled off of. Suddenly Squad Three pulls in front of the Ambulance and Kelly jumps out and gets in the back of the rig with his girlfriend. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Making sure you guys don't get killed!" She then notices the haligan in his hand. Then Kelly notices the drug bags laying around the ambulance.

"They were taped to him."

Then the sound of a squad car speeding down the alley causes the men to stop shooting at the Squad truck.

"You guys ok?" Kelly asks after Y/N backed the rig into its designated space.

"Yeah, it just added an hour to our normal time at the hospital." Shay huffs. Everyone on the apparatus floor chuckles.

"We're fine, but thank you for saving our asses." Y/N says as she looks around the Squad Table. They all smile at the girl who is encased in their Lieutenants arms.

"You know we've got to protect our family Y/L/N, especially our stubborn paramedics." Bodens booming voice says.

"Ok, we are not that stubborn." Shay argues.

Kelly looks down at his girlfriend and smiles when he sees she was already looking.

"You really didn't have to come after us." Y/N says.

"You know I'd always go after you. You're my paramedic."

Big Sisters [Debbie Gallagher]

Description: Y/N is ready to beat someones ass to protect her little sister Debbie.

Warnings: Cussing.

The summer breeze was flowing through the house, people scattered all over. Y/N Gallagher herself was sitting at the counter looking at some bills and deciding which one to pay first.

The front door flew open and slammed shut. Y/N looked up to see who it was, but the person had already stomped up the stairs and slammed another door. She picked up the bill and the cash she had set out and walked out into the living room.

"Carl who was that?"

"Don't know."

Y/N rolled her eyes at her younger brother.

"Well can you keep an eye on them while I go find out please?" She gestures to the children sitting around the room.

"Sure."

Y/N makes her way upstairs and immediately spots her door, that wasn't shut when she was up there 15 minutes before. She walks over and softly knocks on the door.

"Debs? You okay?"

She doesn't get a reply but she hears her sniffles coming through the door. "Debbie, open the door."

Y/N backs away from the door and it pops open. She pushes it in all the way and sees the younger Gallagher sitting on her bed, still in her sundress and bikini, now full on sobbing. She kneels down in front of her sister and grabs her hands.

"Hey, what happened? Did someone hurt you?"

"They humiliated me!"

"Who? What did they do?"

"These girls at the pool. I just wanted to fit in."

"Debbie. What. Did. They. Do."

"They made it look like I had my period. It was just ketchup! Everyone laughed Y/N. Everyone." Debbie continues to sob. Y/N brings her sister into a hug

"Hey, don't let them get to you. You're a Gallagher, we're tough little bastards."

The next morning Fiona walks into the girls' room, but it's empty. So, she walks over to Lip's room, but he says he hasn't seen either of them. The other boys say the same thing. Fiona then walks downstairs into the kitchen where Mickey is drinking Orange Juice from the carton.

"Hey, have you seen Y/N and Debbie?"

"Yeah, left about 30 minutes ago."

"Did they say where they were going?"

"Yeah Y/N said she was going to beat a bitch."

"And you didn't stop her?!"

"No, she looked pissed off. Why the fuck would I get in the middle of that?!"

"Lip! Ian! Get down here we have to go to the pool!" Fiona yells.

Y/N is the nicest Gallagher, but she's scrappy. Especially when it comes to Carl, Debbie or Liam. They are little, they can't protect themselves.

"What the hell is going on?!" Ian asks as he, Lip, and Carl run down the stairs.

"Y/N and Debbie went to the pool."

"Hey, she also took the bat." Mickey nonchalantly adds.

"Oh shit."

Debbie sits on the lounge chair holding the bag as Y/N stands beside her pointing girls out.

"That one?"

"No."

"That one?"

"No."

"That one?"

"Yes."

"Ok. Stay here."

Y/N then proceeds to walk over to the other side of the pool where the girls are standing.

"Hello." Y/N smiles.

"What do you want?" The blonde asks.
