Tessa continued to hug the drone that, once again, she saw as a younger sister to her. "I am thankful you did... yes it was a little scary to see them perish, but... Father stopped caring, and Mother was a monster." Suddenly it hit Tessa like a freaking truck, ".... All the other kids on Earth... who were also being treated poorly by their families... they died too," she sighed sadly, "Their pain ended but... at what cost..."

"I'm sorry the Solver used you too, Cyn" Tessa soothed, pulling herself back from those sad thoughts.

"Trying to interact with other worker drones... Has become difficult. They don't trust me." Cyn frowned.

Tessa sulked a little bit, she preferred used drone parts over new ones, they were more fun to test and refurbish, but she couldn't stop progress, could she.

"Fiiiine, I guess it's not that bad," she responded, her voice a little annoyed, "I just... I guess my old bad habits were starting to come back."

"Hey... if you see any strange critters near my work area... please leave them be."

"Oh alright," the robotic Tessa trilled happily before she saw who it was, "Vanessa! How's it been?"

Tessa remembered the story of the Little Match Girl, and felts some tears come on, thinking about how the little girl became an angel at the end. "I hope their little souls can finally play or rest, and be happy," she admitted with a bittersweet smile, some LED tears in her eye display.

She finally remembered her promise to Cyn, taking the last couple of bows out of the drones hair before she went to get a cleansing spray. "Would you want me to use this, or do you want a peroxide wash, Cyn, dear?"

So as you know J was in the cave, the one with the landing pod that she fell into, and found bone fragments and went to dig them up to give Tessa a proper funeral, but found a microchip / SD card that was a pale blue the same one they use for programming drone personalities so she went and found broken pieces from what remained of the labs and around copper 9 of her past incarnations, and used that because she needed Tessa, after losing everything, she needed something, someone, an emotional anchor and she kind of pulled a Dr Frankenstein but built herself someone she could love, and someone who would love her unconditionally and when Tessa powered up, the first thing she saw was J, and she knew she was safe
