i had always been told how i had been and/or would be wasting so much time and opportunities by lostening to my guts and pursuing what i wanted and what i was comfortable of doing.

fast forward to present time: yes, i'm still pretty much broke and unemployed and ultimately just dependent on the allowance i'm given to spend on myself or even on the freebies i get from my siblings. . . and yes, my pride does feel attacked/jabbed on when those happen, esp if it's my younger brother (who's still in uni) is the one buying me stuff. . .

but honestly, it calms me, my anxieties, and these monsters in my head whenever i think about how comfortable and happy and content and assured i feel that the things i'm doing now are stepping stones i'm accomplishing/planning to accomplish to reach my dreams.

the dreams i have for myself

and for the people important to me. . .

which basically sums up the world and the future i wish to live in:

where everyone i treasure, including me, is happy and comfortable and safe and assured.

in my world, nothing is ever a waste and should ever be a waste because everything happens for a reason, for self growth really.

be content, resilient, and flexible.

I saw an article called “Make Peace With Your Unlived Life” and it really made me stop and think. So much of our lives is mourning for what we didn’t become. It’s a waste. We didn’t waste any opportunities. What came and went was not meant for us.

okay not to be a downer but petitions won’t do anything for lebanon, reading a carrd by a westerner who has literally no clue what is going on apart from what the western media has told them won’t do anything for lebanon so it’s better if you read what an actual lebanese person has to say (their views on current political parties do not reflect every person from lebanon’s views, but at least it isn’t feeding into us imperialistic propaganda). signing petitions isn’t helping. please donate. this twitter thread explains why USD donations are important in this situation and provides links to many gofundme’s / other methods of donating. one of them leads to the Lebanese Red Cross app, and this explains in more detail on how you can donate. it isn’t a government organization, and according to people in the replies, the red cross is the best option and though the red cross in other countries have a bad reputation, this is apparently not associated with any other foundation. donating to individual people in lebanon might not work because their currency has been losing its value over the past couple months, so the best option is donate to organizations like Global Impact and the Red Cross, food banks, and gofundmes where the person will make sure the money is converted themselves (not through the website), also i would considering checking this account, they are part of an independently owned Lebanese media/news site and is actively updating their account / setting up new fundraisers and providing resources. make sure to check who you are donating to, you don’t have to donate to EVERYTHING you see but if you actually want to help, do not just sign petitions. donate to people or at least get others to donate if you currently don’t have the means to do so.

I live in Lebanon and the fiercest explosion went off in the midst of Beirut today, killing off an ungodly amount of human beings (more and more people are dying as I write this) and injuring up to 5000 people whose cases are immensely critical. Today,, at approximately 6 pm, hospitals were completely torn to shreds, people have been buried underneath fallen buildings, fires have been ignited almost everywhere, blood staining the streets in an excruciating manner, in addition to people that flew and fell to the sea due to the impact of the explosion. And it is certainly worth mentioning the millions upon millions' worth of damages what with buildings and cars and stores. Plenty of people are missing, it's an overall mess that is quite frankly very traumatizing.

What Lebanese people have been undergoing in recent times:

Lebanon has been going through a major economical decline that grows worse and worse by the day. The prices have heightened and the salaries remain the same, scarcely anyone has the capacity of affording basic needs anymore. There has been an unfolding revolution the past year, and the lebanese society has been protesting against the humiliation thrust upon our lives due to our miserable excuse for a government, and though the streets bled with thrashing, screaming citizens fighting for their utmost basic human rights, that caused mere to no change in the way things go around here, in fact, it only made it worse. We're being provided with, metaphorically, a droplet's worth of water and nearly no electricity, a pregnant woman has even passed away recently due to a heat stroke (as there were no means of cooling off)

What caused the setting off of this explosion?

The ignorance, heartlessness, and overall brutality of the government and the people in control.

A critical amount of chemicals (2700 tons of ammonium and other nitrates) were left inside a ship along the port of Beirut, and though the people in charge of this transaction were warned that heat and perspiration have the capability of destroying the whole of Lebanon in ode to a massive explosion, they refused to do anything about it and left the chemicals in there for years on end.

Up until, surprise surprise, the explosion went off and devestated Lebanon almost entirely.

I don't have much followers, and I know that this post isn't going to magically heal what is unfolding in this, priorly gorgeous, magnificent country, but I truly hope with all my heart that you find it within yours to spread awareness on this topic so that it would be more widespread,, so that Lebanon gets the aiding it deserves and the people from outer places slap the 'big bosses' awake, or at least pressure them into resigning, whatever it takes to make this place sufferable, tolerable, somewhere you can picture yourself residing in.

Lebanon is a place of infinite traditions, diversity, creativity, joy, and love. Most of the people here are open-hearted and wholesome. We all deserve far better.

My heart aches for the people that have passed away today, and I shall pray for the ones stuck in hellish suffering.

Honestly, so beautifully written that the story does not solely focus on the smut but instead, places emphasis on the emotions --the agony, despair, and heartbreak-- that both the OC and Yoongi go through. The author also perfectly portrayed how a "supposed" cliche revenge story could be wrapped in an unexpected twist so cleverly thought of that it also shows how a royalty should truly handle their power, skill, and wit no matter the circumstance.

I didn't even notice I was/had been tearing up until after I had finished the whole thing so..

Truly an aesthetic-read for those seeking a literary art carefully and elegantly written.
