I don't think many people realise how important self-expression is. Whether it is by doing art, writing, singing, etc. And I'm aiming this particularly at people who want to do those hobbies but are embarrassed that they won't be good enough (this was me).
I started writing around a year ago. I wouldn't say it's award-wining, but I would say it tremendously helped with pinpointing an exact perception of myself. As an aroace person (who most likely has OCD), I constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, second-guessed my identity. We all know the phrases, "but what if I'm straight and just need to try it.", "but what if I just have attachment issues.", "but what if I'm gay and in denial because of societal pressure.", "but I think that person is beautiful. Does that make me not aspect?", Etc. Etc. Etc.
This was pretty much a daily occurrence for me. That is before I started projecting my feelings onto the characters I write. I'm not kidding when I say that for the past few months, since I started writing about my personal experiences in fanfiction, I've had those self-doubts approximately ten times. Writing has helped me understand myself in a way no therapist or online page or aroace questionnaire ever could.
So, if you're feeling stuck, suffocated, and want to try your hand at an art to release those bottled up thoughts and emotions, please, PLEASE, do. It doesn't matter if you think it's not good enough. There's no such thing as bad art because art is subjective. There's no law that dictates what's good and what's not because fundamentally, the art you create is YOU.

I think that for every episode of bake off that has a foreign country as a theme there should be a special third judge that is just a grandma of that nationality and they should be equipped with an air horn they can toot in paul hollywood’s smug face whenever he confidently says something completely incorrect about a bake’s construction, flavour, texture, etc etc
