I just remember Aziraphale fell only after giving Adam and Eve his sword, he has a goat(?) aspect and also takes the blame for humanity eating the forbidden fruit
Did you know, there’s two Angels that look like Aziraphale and Crowley in the Sandman Comics?
I was absolutely obsessed with Ramiel and Dumas when I saw them in this one page in Sandman: Season of Mist Chapter 4 UNFORTUNATELY this panel is the only one where they look like our favorite demon-angel pair. If you want to start Sandman (and you should) it should not be for the husbands cameo because as far as I can remember this is the one instance they uncannily are depicted like Micheal Sheen and David Tennant. They are actually blonde, and oof definitely not acting like our favorite Duo I don’t want to spoil there importance in the SoM, my little GO fanfic heart almost died looking them up in the wiki,, Ramiel (the Crowley), ‘thunder of God’ traditionally regarded as the angel of hope IM?? SOBBING??? Duma who chooses to accept a responsibility that takes him away from ALL THAT HE KNOWS??? ASFHHFK They’re follow-up side story WRECKS me with the implication that they are unhappy, reluctantly accepting of their new situation, but at least take solstice in having each other. AT LEAST THEY HAVE EACH OTHER Take the fanart! Accept the accidental crossover into your heart!! I wanted Neil to see the comic page, but I’m guessing my ask got buried (understandable), I wonder if he’d say it was ineffable or something more profoundly Gaiman-esque. OUR BOYS WERE THERE FOR THE SANDMAN. AND THEY WERE ANGELS oh my god they were angels
Reasons I think Crowley is Raphael:
1: He was high enough ranking that he was given permission to create the Heavens and work within the divine plan.
2. In S2 we see that he has access to Heaven's interface, something Uriel says only high-ranking Angels can do.
3. In an exchange with Shax in season 2, episode 1, she says that a powerful angelic miracle occurred in assumption that Gabriel is in Aziraphale's store and Crowley responds: "How'd you know I didn't do it?"
4. Re that same point: When he and Az do a "half" miracle each it equates to an archangel level one.
5. Raphael is the only archangel not mentioned so far.
6. Raphael is traditionally associated with fostering harmonious unions, love, and marriage. He tries to unite Nina and Maggie through an orchestrated natural phenomenon. When Az questions the easiness of such a thing he dismisses it in a way that implies he knows from experience.
7. Raphael was also known as a healer and Crowley heals the maimed shopkeeper after the demons attack the bookshop, which he didn't have to do.
8. Regarding being a healer, he is extremely outraged that the gravedigger girl wants to kill herself and puts the "fear of God" into her by showing his power to make her swear she'll never try that again and will instead live a good life.
9. He also makes the paintball guns real in season 1 but then also makes everyone miraculously survive each shot, like he doesn't want to hurt them.
10. He doesn't kill Job's flock or children because he didn't want to hurt them either.
11. He hates Gabriel and clearly wants to beat his ass for what he said to Az when he was being sentenced to death. Instead he tells him to jump out of the window but at the last second, as he's obeying, Crowley tells him to stop and looks upset, then leaves in annoyance.
The last 5 points are all things that would go against a healer's nature.
What do you think?

It has me like "Did...did we watch the same show?? Did we WATCH THE SAME FINAL FIFTEEN??!"
We literally watch how they interact and we watch Aziraphale fall in love with Crowley in real time- AAAAGES AGO TIMELINE WISE!!

We that Crowley had put his foot down during the Job episode and told Aziraphale "The angel you knew is not me.."
Aziraphale does not want Crowley to go back with him to Heaven because "he only loves him as an angel". That's incredibly incorrect. How I see it, he wants Crowley to go back with him to Heaven because he knows he'll be in charge and he knows he can do EVERYTHING in his power to make it good for Crowley. A place where Crowley belongs. He wants to see him smile again and that look of whimsy and delight in his eyes.
He NEEDS Crowley by his side because they ARE a DUO! He feels he can't do it without him! He knows they both have issues with how heaven is run, and he feels that the two of them together can make a difference!
It wouldn't matter if anyone thought Aziraphale was a sorry excuse for an angel, because Crowley would always see him as the best out of all of them. It wouldn't matter if anyone thought Crowley was out of line for asking questions, because Aziraphale would listen to every single idea he had.
I think Aziraphales' only crime is just having ignorant, rigid perceptions of heaven, hell, sin, etc... as a whole. But that's literally what everyone told him constantly and that's what everyone around him thinks- so it's a little tough to shake those ideas.
Think about it like this: If you spend your whole existence trudging around barefoot in mud, it'll take a while for you to scrub it all off. Even then, they'll still be some gunk underneath your toenails.
So let's let Aziraphale BREATH! PLEEEASEEE! AAAHHHHH!
If I see one more person mischaracterize Aziraphale I'll lose it "Oh he doesn't want Crowley he wants the angel" "Oh he never loved Crowley" "He only loves Crowley if he's an angel" SHUT UP SHUT UPPPPPP NO HE DOESN'T SHUT UPPP

I like to imagine Aziraphale getting all flustered and such after Crowley protects him from the meteor shower. His (assumably) first other real friend, and they're cute too? Being under a "canopy" really does make people beings fall in love...
