I’m not sure if it’s been stated whether Cassandra or Ankarna was like corrupted/killed/forgotten first but I think Ankarna went dark after losing Cas, especially after this most recent episode. Brennan saying Arkana flew into a rage and wrecked a guy who asked if she was still married? Think about this:
You marry someone, her sister is who she chooses to have represent her family, the people who have raised and loved her, at the wedding, and later on that sister, that sister who loved your wife so much?, her followers, trick your wife’s loyal devotees into forgetting her. Her sister tried to kill her.
And what’s maybe worse? She doesn’t Die. She becomes this awful thing, the worst version of herself in an effort to stay alive, she is someone you don’t know. Yeah she’s still there in a way but the person you loved? They are gone.
And you can’t even talk about her. Her name is erased from existence. Your wife is worse than dead someone else now haunts her soul and you can’t tell anyone about who she used to be.
And the world becomes angrier. And so you do too.
The moon killed the night, destroyed doubt and mystery and curiosity. And you no longer feel any control over the day, you feel no connection to your family, who have I to hold close during the winters cold, my wife is gone.
All you have left is the anger, the contempt, the conviction. You can’t be curious anymore, can’t doubt what you do, questioning anything reminds you of her. So you step forward, never looking back never questioning whether what you are doing, what you are becoming is what she would want.
You make your own warmth. Light fires that fuel your just actions. You find new magic, things you can know and be certain of. And you get angrier, and angrier and one day

if fig and kristen not sisters, then why fig being set up as a narrative foil of ankarna’s (maybe even being groomed by porter to be her paladin as her corrupted rage form), who actually might uncorrupt her by believing in her as she was? “Goddess she was of righteousness and the clarity of conviction to act with all the burning fury of the sun. thinking about ankarna and ruvina in comparison to cassandra and galicaea. a sister who would do anything for her sister and another who destroyed her own. ankarna and cassandra who were married, the goddess of conviction and the goddess of doubt destroyed by their own families. i just. her sister was the light of her life but cassandra couldn't have said the same

She's the goddess of conviction and fig is going through an identity crisis but she's anchored by her friends and that's where her conviction lies, in the strength of her bonds. She has an innate connection to rage. She's the archdevil of rebellion and rebellion needs conviction to thrive.
Zara and Porter said doubt isn't for her but conviction is.
....Is anyone suspicous of Kristen's "Chosen One of Helio" status now that we know Amkarna's domains?
Cause Kristen was seemingly always going to be a cleric of Cassandra, if we look back at Sophmore year. So what if Kristen was never Helio's chosen, but Ankarna's.
Ankarna's Chosen One to bring back Cassandra.
Which would further explain why Ankarna is so angry with Kristen, cause if it was just because Kristen wasn't doing her duties as Cassandra's Cleric I don't think there would be as many personal jabs towards Kristen. But if Kristen was literally chosen by Ankarna to be the one who saved Cassandra, then lines like "I'll give you a God you deserve" would have so many added layers to it. Imagine you have a chosen one that was taken by your replacement, who then finally saves your wife, only for that same chosen one to neglect her duties as a cleric and be part of the reason your wife is dying again.
I also do think that Junior Year is going to end with Cassandra and Ankarna being the type of deities that are usually worshiped together. Or at the very least their followers are heavily involved with each other.
The lesbian are burrowing into my brain again. I am contractually obligated to draw Cassandra and purple characters as much as possible.

In light of recent events in would like to re enforce my agenda by making you read this 💜
It’s about the aesthetic
throwing down a wild card that Ankarna saves Gorgug somehow and Gorgug takes on the Rage epithet on behalf of Ankarna to free her from that, while she takes back everything else true to herself. He's been learning so much about how to control Rage on a level previously unheard of and discovered a link between mathematics, music and Rage, if anyone can handle the pure raw Rage of a god and stay themselves it's Gorgug, like Lydia x100. He takes on all that Rage that corrupted Ankarna, freeing her, and wields it himself in a controlled manner that leaves him not a god himself but some kind of partial god like how people can become devils and archdevils and so on.
and now I'm going to dial it right back to reality lmao and say Gorgug probably just gets revived by one of his friends
still Gorgug Thistlespring a demigod of Protective Rage and Righteous Fury, linked to Ankarna, would be fucking dope. He's always talking about dads and that he'll take another dad but what about a new mom, huh? Momma Ankarna
