Poor Annie Bell
Annie Bell is not a sinner,
But they don't believe a word she says.
A spell worthy of a witch enchantment,
To take all of the men.

Unlovable and unhappy,
She stood alone in the celery.
Ah, shame on Annie Bell,
For she refuses what God preached.
---
Little Annie didn't mean to,
Oh no, she never did.
To kill and rob the riches dry,
To save her family's skin.
---
But it didn't matter what she believes,
For they said, "it doesn't change your deed!".
And now, we can only hear your screams,
As you drown in the water's deep.

you can interpret this however you want
but in case you want to know what i was thinking
it was supposed to be a girl who stole food from rich families
to support her own
was caught and drowned in the well for her crimes
as by the title

it was because she was screaming she was innocent
as well crying
however the rich ones as a way to justify their decision
called her a witch for trying to charm the men to her side
and poisoning the food
