Rex is a natural blond and I’ll fist fight you over it. Anyway, I like to think Arla Fett and Jangos mom cheer Rex on from the afterlife like fuck yeah that’s our boy. Like Rex popped into existence with his blond hair and they were like finally, a clone of quality genetics.
Old star wars media really did the Fett family so dirty. There are all these characters who, on paper, I’m really interested in but their visual representation makes me cringe. Arla Fett, Ailyn Vel, Mirta Gev. You know, descended from a Māori family. For some reason, though, (you know the reason) they’re consistently drawn like this:

Arla would never have blonde hair in a million years, and her skin would be as dark as Jango’s. And similarly, Ailyn and Mirta would have brown skin tones as well. This is clownery. Utter, downright clownery.

ok SO funny story… when i was younger I got a lot of lego sets as gifts, but there were barely any w/ girl characters in them at the time (esp the Star Wars sets) so my dad used to buy “girl faces” and replace some lego figures’ faces with them… sometimes they would be random made-up characters, but sometimes they were actual existing side characters he’d pulled off a wiki somewhere ig? and i was looking thru a bag of them the other day and pulled out one i knew was some real character but I had no idea who she was at first but - the figure used to be jango fett and I thought she might be related, and I asked my dad to confirm and. ARLA. arla fett, jango’s dead(?) sister who was brainwashed into a cult and has like 10x more story written abt her on ao3 than in any canon sources. i don’t even know how my dad managed to make her story sound nice or child-appropriate when he gave me the figure??? but anyway i have a bootleg arla lego figure isn’t she cool lmao
the hair is new but everything else is how I found her lol
