7th grade me struggling to even play the weekend whip on flute would be so excited to find present me, who is only stopped from casually playing Falcon Chase before band by pure unbridled ✨anxiety✨ because everyone else is actually practicing and then there’s me having spinny Lego thoughts
I've played so many instruments. Trombone in elementary, Tuba in Middle School, Percussion now in High School. I can also play Keyboard/Piano and Guitar and do so frequently. I also sing and dance a lot. My sister once handed me a Cello and I figured out how to play Meglovania on it within an hour, did something similar on a viola but with a different song. I can figure that shit out by ear really easily on most instruments depending on what you need to do to actually play it. SO MANY GODDAMN INSTRUMENTS-
My favorites so far are Bass Guitar, Keyboard, and Trombone.
If you can guess my personality off of just that, I'll be impressed. You can also ask other music questions and answer if you wanna get real specific.
ive said it before and ill say it again: astrological signs, meyers briggs, uquiz tests; all fake bullshit that have nothing to do with someones personality. but the instrument you played in highschool band/orchestra? that shit’s realer than math. youre branded for life. i may not be able to guess which instrument you played but as soon as you tell me itll IMMEDIATELY make sense

My bag is half packed, since I got home really late last night (work and play rehearsal), #justperformerthings lmao
I know that band camps overseas are huge intensives, but our band camp here is different (well, every two years it is). For our band camp, every two years, we go on a "tour"! We go to the capitol of our state, and do a bunch of workshops, play in a massive competition, and do lots of sightseeing!
I'm sO looking forward to this trip, even if it's just 2 full days at our destination, but we get to do so much! No spoilers, since I'll post lots of photos, but I'm EXCITED for many things this year!
Band bus trips are the best, I try to get on the bus first, so I can nab a window seat (because waving to cars on the highway into the city is hilarious). Last year, on the way back to our hotel, we were blasting "We Are The Champions", since we tied for FIRST PLACE! We lost our best players last year, which means our band is no longer "Top 5 In The State" material, so our comp entry this year is purely to get critique. Still exciting!

sometimes a band is 100 kids in a field with no recollection of who the person is 12 dots down from them.
sometimes a band is 40 kids crammed into a drama room, someone brought coke in and is drinking it in rehearsal, someone brought cheetos and shared them before rehearsal, most kids left their instrument there for the whole week, and everyone just vibes because they're still one of the top bands in the state despite numbers tanking from last year.
