Bnha Ending - Tumblr Posts
No I agree that it would be weird if they got it right away, but with 3 chapters left I doubt we'll see a society get anything. Right now it's very much: they go back and do the same thing again.
And that is actually said in chapter 427. And the proposed solution was: more heroes, the main reason we have the problem.
It's currently every chapter another moment of: this is a neverending cycle and we learn nothing and no matter how hard you fight for things to change, no matter how much you try to do the right thing, you'll never succeed.
Deku saying he won't kill Shigaraki, to kill him.
Shigaraki telling Deku sarcstically that he belives in him (which he doesn't) Hawks a man who actually could literally backstab a man he called a good person, while said man was running away from him getting not only out free of charge, but becoming head of the organization that hired a child as a killer out of school.
The news telling us Shigaraki is a monster, only Spinner saying otherwise.
Tsukauchi saying it will all repeat again and only saying maybe more heroes will fix it.
It's not giving optimistic, it's giving: we're doomed.
I will say I generally like that Midoriya isn't denying that he killed Shigaraki, it really seemed like it in the previous chapters.
That being said: bnha is a tragedy and nothing will ever change in society is not the ending I was expecting, let alone hoping for.
Especially since the framing, artwork, conversations, translation and fan-response seems to be really ignoring it.
And that is while bhha 427 literally sais that things won't change.
That's just sad.
From all the things about bnhas ending I dislike, the fact that the hero ranking system is still up is probably the worst.
We've seen what it does to people, we've seen what happend with Endevour. We know it sucks, why is it still there?
Did Hori get told: hey this is shonen, and shonen loves rankings like this, so keep it up. It feels like the last ark just was made to cater to the main shonen tropes and not everything it set up for all of the rest.
Did I read the manga ending differently?
When Izuku says they fell out of touch I didn’t think it was that literal - like no contact whatsoever - I thought it was just that heroes might need to travel a lot of often so unlike midoriya the rest of class A would be moving around a lot?? But they would of course have been in connect??
Is this free for that kind of interpretation or did izuku REALLY not have contact with them for years?
(I’ll kind of start crying if that’s true)
Overall I think the ending was good. I want to discuss more about it so remaining rambling yet to come!
I don’t think I will ever accept the fact that Izuku, the one that deserved more than anyone else to be the greatest hero, lost his quirk and became a teacher. My baby deserved more and deserved to fulfill his dream to help people as a hero like he always dreamed to do, not as a teacher.
And ALSO the fact that is implied in chapter 430 that Izuku is the perfect number one hero: in the last chapter of the manga we see that Katsuki and Todoroki are competing for the number 1 spot as heroes, both are strong and have worked hard to get where they are but it is clear that they both lack something. Katsuki is strong but he is not friendly, kind and calm like the number 1 hero should be, he is too arrogant, proud and conceited (Aizawa also says that his personality will probably make him go down in the ranking). Shoto is calm and kind but not extroverted enough to empathize with people, he is too awkward. Izuku on the other hand is the perfect hero, just like All Might: he is kind, caring, extroverted (the opposite of Todoroki), humble but serious and confident when needed, he does not use strength as a way to increase his ego but for a genuine desire to help others (unlike Bakugou, who has made a huge glow up as a character but who is still too aggressive with the public).
I'm sorry I'll never get over it.

My OC ending with Class 1-A… my hero was my comfort show and Manga for like ever… really helped me and as sad as I am to say the End… I’m truly thankful for having the chance to watch it…
Now that y'all have had time to cope the inherent HILARIOUS consequence of the way BNHA ended is that some richass parents are gonna make their kids go to hero school with fuckass mech suits and it's going to be so fucking funny.
Conceiving of a child saying "mom I wanna be a hero" and their mother who makes a bajillion a year looks at this child and goes "At all costs yes."
I hope this ends in a child having a nuke in their mech suit for the UA entrance exam. I think this is a thoroughly reasonable thing. Exactly the same amount of reasonable and normal as the rest of the ending.
