Chapter 2 Prayer
Prayer for Living by Faith
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of faith, which helps me to trust in You even when I don’t fully understand Your plan. Like Abraham, David, and Mary, help me to respond to Your call with courage and trust. Strengthen my heart to follow You each day and to live according to Your will. Grant me the virtues of faith, hope, and love so that I may grow closer to You and to those around me. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions, so that they reflect Your love and truth. When I face challenges, remind me that You are always with me, leading me towards Your everlasting promise. Help me to see beyond what is visible and trust in the work You are doing in my life. May Your Holy Spirit continue to inspire me, and may I always say “yes” to You, just as Mary did. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
Teaching CCD can be challenging, especially with the textbook provided. While I understand the textbook’s potential and recognize that it could be incredibly effective with more time, I’ve turned to ChatGPT for additional support to navigate these challenges.
To enhance our sessions and provide something meaningful for the students, I’ve introduced a journal titled Journaling with Jesus. This journal is designed to help students relax and reflect on the key points of the chapters we cover. My goal is for them to engage deeply with the material and cherish their reflections.
As a first-time CCD teacher, I would greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations from those with experience. If you have any tips or resources that have worked well for you, please share.
Thank you, and God Bless.

I don't know if anyone is super excited about stickers, most especially the faith based stickers. And don't get me started on faith based journals. This will be my first time and I will be creating one for myself even. For me, it's like an extension of God's song and the WORD. I can't wait for my students to be surprised on our next meeting.

Imagine Catholic saints as modern Christian music artists—what would their signature song sound like?

Today, I found comfort in Jesus by watching a documentary of Carlo Acutis. For the past two weeks, I've been going through a heavy spiritual struggle and felt somewhat distant. But once again, Jesus reminded me that I have friends in high places, gently pulling me back to Himself through them. As I was preparing lessons for our next meeting, I started watching a documentary on Carlo Acutis to introduce to my 8th graders. There was a moment in the film when I saw a clip of Carlo as a baby, which immediately filled me with immense joy. It was near the beginning too. As I saw the brief clip, it struck me how rare it is to see a baby picture of someone destined to be a future Saint. The joy just kept on overwhelming me to the point of tears, and I couldn't stop crying. My heart was just being filled with more and more joy. It was unstoppable. I was perplexed as I felt this was no ordinary joy or tears of happiness. Later in the documentary, as I tried to gather myself back from crying, I saw another clip where a man who visited Carlo's resting place was moved to tears as well and he too could not sobbing for a while as he was reconverted back to his Catholic Faith. Carlo seems to have this profound effect on people. I believe it's his deep love for Jesus that we all sense—something so beautiful, it's beyond words. I can’t wait to share him with my class.
