hello chaps, business as usual? I’ve finally finished my Celestia redesign, and this time I referenced statues of the Greek god Apollo, colorful Chiapaneco dresses and parrots. I’ll return next time with Luna, and I’ll be basing her (like twilight) off old Victorian fashion! Toodles!

Celestia Redesign!! I found out how many people make her a cruel person whose actually really silly, so I did my take on it. Celestia was born from simple parents, much like Luna, who was Starswirl the Bearded's top student. After gaining her cutie mark from raising the sun, she was immediately basked in praises, a whole religion made dedicated to her even! Ponies and creatures worshiped her more than her adopted sister, who raised the moon, but Celestia was too high into the praises to notice. After fighting Nightmare Moon, Celestia made a regretful decision to banish her to the moon. As centuries passed, ponies soon forgot of the lost Goddess and continued to praise the Queen. Celestia had difficulties raising both the sun and moon, especially handling the dream world. Soon, she met Twilight Sparkle, a dedicated mage who specializes in high level magic. Celestia saw her as Luna's replacement, giving Twilight the opportunity to become her apprentice. But, after giving Twilight Luna's powers, she became corrupted and turned into Midnight Sparkle. No normal pony could handle that much power after all.. Twilight had done horrible things once she was corrupted, leaving Celestia no choice but to take her powers away and banish her from Canterlot and the School of Magic. She sent her to Ponyville, hoping she could have a fresh start and obtain friends(which she lacked). Once Luna was released and reformed, Celestia tried her best to make up for her actions. She's still trying..

Tulli worked with me a bit more on Luna. We decided to have her in a regency era dress, which matches the period of time that she was banished during (the 1820s); in stark contrast is Celestia's more modern art deco dress from the 1920s. Also in contrasts: Celestia is structured and rigid with bold lines while Luna is flowing and organic with flowers and rounded laces. Regency dresses are very youthful-looking without a lot of frills and stiff parts, while still remaining very regal and elegant. Her dark fabrics have, Epiphyllum oxypetalums, or "Princesses of the Night," embroidered on them. Her color palette was given a more cool tone to match her original design's palette.
Within the story of the AU, after returning to Canterlot, Luna cuts her hair (the source of a witch's power) short to temper herself. She wears a blue veil meant to look like her show version's hair to cover Nightmare Moon's face, which is always silhouetted in the back of her hair. The blotch on her left breast is meant to reference her cutie mark. Probably a scar from her banishment.
@beluvbug and his PoGD AU really inspires me to create disphoria/kinda-self-insert AU, which I can also use kinda like vent, because sometimes it's hard for me to cope with some of my problems. But the thing is, at first I didn't know which character I would like to use for this. Like, I love the main girls, but there's something in each of them that's in me, but it still didn't click with me. But then it dawned on me.
And so I present to you
"Celestial BurnOut"
aka story about country ruler and literall sun deity with severe depression and the resulting difficulties in performing their direct duties.
I can imagine how tired Celestia has been for all the millennia that she has been living and how many events she may forget over the years. I can imagine the pressure she feels thinking about how many ponies she thinks she's let down. I can imagine how over the years she stopped caring about any gender norms, because she had long ceased to be within them, when everything organic that was in her was replaced by magical matter (idea that I came to thanks to Alex's thinking about how alicorn magic may work).
And I can easily imagine how she sometimes wants to go back to those far, far away times when she was a little filly who did not have the responsibility to rule the whole country and raise the sun every day.

Also she use any pronauce, I just use "she/her" most of the time because I'm just heavily projecting with nb-fem leaning.
