Just finished the quest for Ergo Sum. I knew that it had a random element and exotic perk going in. I wasn't sure if you got a random roll from the quest, but apparently it is since my bf got something different. And omg, I got the exact roll I wanted on the first try!! Usually I have such bad RNG in d2, so I'm quite shocked I got it on the first try! It's like the Traveler personally gave me this sword, which I guess it kinda does lol. I got one with Ticcu's exotic perk and it's a solar sword. And I love that it glows like a dawnblade when you have ammo!! I see why Saint calls this the Young Wolf's favorite sword because it kinda is becoming that very quickly. Will it be good in game? We shall see. But do I love the concept and lore and headcannon potential behind it? Yes I very much do. And I can finally use two swords and a bow at once!! My headcannon warlock set!! I'm super stoked.
Hello fellow Ikora simps! I was looking at random stuff with Ghost in the Pale heart when I accidentally clicked on the button to look at the lore of the chest piece. And I'm glad I accidentally did that! Because it has sent me down a rabbit hole. Of course, I saw the flavor text and instantly knew it was about Ikora, so I had to read it. Here it is for people who haven't read it:
I love when we get little bits about Ikora's past that aren't crucible and her being Osiris's student. Another one of Ikora's comfort books! I love the mental image of Ikora reading it after a bad crucible match and Ophiuchus acting as a light so she could read. It sounds like a time where they were closer, long before the 61 years of them not talking.
And then the other detail, "And [Ikora] thought of other moments, of a warm hand covering her own as she read the text out loud for the thousandth time." A lover perhaps? I love how it's open ended, so you can insert any ship with Ikora (sorry Eris x Ikora shippers, but I'm totally reading this as Ikora on a date with Chalco Yong). I kinda wish bungie would give us her romantic/sexual orientation.
But other than simping for Ikora content, the whole detail about the traveler having a book based off of her memories with such detail is a really interesting rabbit hole. Like are all the things based off of our memory in the traveler because of the darkness inside of it? If the Pale Heart didn't have the witness in it, would it still look like these memories? It seems like it is most likely the traveler itself retaining these memories, not the darkness. So, does the light actually remember as well? Or is the traveler a being of both light and dark, but mainly light and so it can make these memories? I think it would make most sense if the traveler was made of both light and dark like the Veil. But these memories in the traveler just opens up another rabbit hole about the light and dark and I am glad they had Ikora ponder it a bit in the lore.
I must make a post gushing about them adding Micah-10 to the Final Shape. I first read about her through the story of Micah, the 10 year old who was writing letters to the traveler in the lore book, "Your Friend, Micah Abram." I started reading the chapters as I found all the penguins scattered across Europa. It's interesting seeing a perspective of a kid who has no idea about the exos being actual people, assuming they are robots and her fathers making sure that is what she thinks they are. And the other interesting part are the dreams she has about the traveler. It always seemed like a point in the lore that could go farther.
After reading the lore book, I quickly looked up more about her. She became an exo. Then she was rezzed by a ghost and she used her name from her past life. She always has a pack of ghosts who follow her around, and she protects them. She has become known as the Den Mother of the Ghosts, because of the little pack of ghosts following her. One of the ghosts we actually know was Andal Brask's ghost, and Micah warned the first hunter vanguard, Tallulah, that Andal would be a handful. And then the lore around the Six Coyotes, that she and other lightbearers protected a small village from the House of Kings, which is why she has the coyote on her cloak and chest plate.
I just really found these stories about her interesting. And then to see the preview of Cayde's deck of cards and the one with Micah on it, I was super stoked to see her in the Final Shape. And I just love all the little lore bits that are coming up about her. She mentioned in the mission to save the ghost Link that she has to write her gratitude to the Traveler in her next letter, implying she still writes the Traveler letters in this second life. Or how when you pick up one of the Final Shape collectibles, she is able to interpret visions she sees from them. I love the theory that Micah might become the next Speaker.
I hope whatever Bungie is planning for her, that they at least continue to have her in the game, like how they integrated Eido into the narrative more when they gave us her character model in Season of the Plunder. And I think with the way Episodes are, it might be easier to have Micah involved at some point. Bungie has been doing a great job incorporating Micah into the story and the Final Shape was a perfect opportunity to do so. Now if Bungie gave us Chalco Yong as a proper character instead of an obscure hidden agent, I would be writing a post like this as soon as we get that info lol.
Everyone, I am deceased. Chalco Yong disturbs Ikora's mediation in lore during this solstice and Ikora gives in to Chalco's distraction. And then they get dumplings together. My headcannon Chalco x Ikora is still strong. Chalco uses void light which is fun because I've always imagined she's an arcstrider first and foremost, but stealthy void hunter is her second go to, just for her hidden work. Gosh, I'm so unwell. I didn't expect to be eating so good. Bungie give me more of this! Please give Chalco a character model too! Now I'm picturing this whole scene and Ikora and Chalco leaving Ikora's hidden office to get dumplings while holding hands. I need to draw more Chalco fan art.
So, as we know, Misraaks calls Ikora "Ikorakel," because a Kell is the closest thing Ikora is as a vanguard to an Eliksni. So, since Crow is now hunter vanguard and since the next Episode is about the Scorn and Eliksni and Crow and Misraaks will definitely be around, I want to hear Misraaks call Crow "Crowkel."
I already bought the rival warlock shell figurine (which is my ghost's main shell), but I had to buy this to paint my own. Idk if I'm gonna do one from the game or make a really gay shell (aka with the bi/ace pride flags). We shall see lol. I'll definitely post pics

So I've wanted to come up with a better way to draw Chalco's leg armor. I really like the large strap things I give her and I'm fine with boots, but like I just kinda keep her leg armor simple. But I want it to be a bit more detailed for larger pieces. Well, I found some random hunter in the tower with some good leg drip.
I tried drawing it on Chalco with some modifications to fit her aesthetic a bit more and really like them! Then I finally looked up what this set was for, and realized it's the Assassin's Creed armor set. So Chalco is an Assassin's Creed creed girlie. She found an old copy of the game on some golden age computer and made it into her fashion. Actually maybe this is why we have these armor sets to begin with in universe lol.
Yes! For those of you who don't know Chalco lore, I use two different things specifically for Chalco from the game. One is the Dragon's Shadow hunter exotic because it has the flavor text, "It is my honor --Chalco Yong to Ikora Rey" (probably Chalco's response to Ikora asking her to be in the hidden) and it has the Hidden Creed on it. I've just always imagined after that this exotic piece is the one Chalco actually uses. And the other is we actually know Chalco's color scheme! We have the "Chalco's Finery" shader in game! I use the old version of the shader for how I color in Chalco (the new one makes the terracotta color look very dark red, even tho there is no dark red when applied to something). Like two years ago, I drew her design based around dragons shadow and this shader. I might dump a pile of my Chalco and Ikora art on Tumblr today.

Had to contribute to the Ikora Rey week! I want to do this with markers, so it'll take some time before it's done (probably not before the end of the week, which is why I'm posting the wip). I've always loved Ikora and Chalco's relationship since we got the juicy Hidden Dossier lore book right before Witch Queen (if you're an Ikora simp, you must read the book).
My bf bought an apple tablet and a pencil for it. I visited him this past week and he let me play with it. I ended up downloading Procreate and playing with it. I drew four doodles while I was there lmao. I might need to buy my own tablet for drawing. It's just super easy to use Procreate with the minimal knowledge I have of digital art programs. So here is Minerva in his favorite shell and a Chalco Yong sketch!
My bf and I played a bit of Revenant last night and I was excited to see daddy Fikrul enter the chat. But then I went to see Eido and I absolutely was super duper excited and giddy to see her in game again. My bf was calling me gay cause I wanna go on a date with Eido. I was more excited to see my girl Eido than Fikrul.
But definitely a great line up of characters this season! Fikrul, Crow, Eido, Mithrax, Eramis, and even Variks. I always love the eliksni seasons and adding scorn to the mix makes total sense right now, especially now Fikrul is claiming to be the Kell of Kell. It's a great mix of helping Mithrax with his curse and slaying the scorn to prevent all the eliksni from turning into scorn. I can't wait to play more and read all the new lore.
This season is just going to be a lot of Eido art. I am halfway through one. I have an idea to draw her work area and all the fun stuff on it. I have a Festival of the Lost Witch costume Eido idea. Probably Eido and Bubo making some tonics and queens foil together. Maybe my warlock and Eido on a date? I have many drawing ideas and many screenshots of her model now.
