[Brendan] McCarthy [co-writer] explains the invention within the story of the five young women. “In coming up with the characters of the girls, we listed five simple characteristics: funny [The Dag], brainy [Toast the Knowing], fragile [Cheedo the Fragile], seductive [Capable], leader [The Splendid Angharad]. We built each girl around one of those core values.
