EYES CLOSED

simon’s hand wrapped around an unfamiliar body. he wanted to sob. he wanted to punch the nearest wall. he wanted to do anything to release the anger inside him. but he couldn’t. that was against his code.

he closed his eyes, imagining that he was holding you. he imagined that the both of you were still together. he imagined that he didn’t screw up.

he remember the events like it was yesterday.

you had grown tired of his absence. you said you craved something more. something he couldn’t give to you. he wasn’t upset with you. he was upset with himself. he loves you so much, why can’t he show it?

but he had to let you go. did he regret it? yes. he wanted to spend every moment with you. even the silent ones. the moments where you didn’t need to talk, just taking in each other’s presence.

was it best for you? yes. but was it best for him? no. you were his serotonin. you kept him sane. you didn’t even need to be there. the mention of you would bring a smile to his face.

but those moments were gone. so, he kept his eyes shut. praying that one day he’ll encounter you again. a moment for him to ask for a second chance. he kept his eyes screwed shut. remembering the moments you had together. good and bad.
